Excellent experience. Came out early May to measure and said it would take 4-6 weeks for the windows to come in. We had received quotes from 4 other companies but none suggested larger windows resulting in less total windows needed. They were able to replace all but 1 room which we did not want done as we are planning to add to the house in that direction. At the 4 week mark I got a call and they could come start the work the next day. Two people showed up the next morning just before the scheduled time. All work was done in less than 2 days and the windows look and work great. Already our bill is lower as hey keep the house cooler this summer than with our old 1970s windows. The gutters were up just in time to give them a good test run with the recent storms.

He did a great job, I'm happy with it. They used the proper equipment.

Other than a delay in delivery of the windows, everything was great. Installers did a professional job in a short time.

Two workers arrived on time and completed the whole operation in about 2 1/2 hours. They were very polite and businesslike and gave the impression of great competence. I would not hesitate to use them again.

We received quotes from several companies, but only with Brookside did we get a detailed estimate and someone who seemed to care about our project and making the house look its best. Eric came to our home with his porch specialist and we talked specifics for the new porch, siding, windows, and door. The porch was completed first, then the rest of the work was completed about a month later when the siding crew had availability. Both the porch and siding crews were punctual, professional, cleaned up, did a great job, and addressed any questions we had while they worked. We are very happy with the quality of the work and would definitely use this company again.

Everything went very smoothly. From the initial call, I knew I had made the correct decision to go with this company! I was impressed with Eric's professionalism and help in making the window choices for my son's house. We gave this as a gift. He couldn't be happier with the windows! He was worried about losing some glass profile, but didn't at all. He actually gained glass due to the smaller trim on the new windows! The installers were fantastic. They were very efficient and neat. They completely cleaned the site and even came back into the house with a broom and swept up every bit of debris (which was hardly anything at all). The windows work smoothly and are a real asset to the house!

Eric of Brookside came out promptly and gave a very competitive estimate. He came a second time to measure and brought the installer so he could best communicate what needed to be done. The windows got ordered and within a week of getting them in the appointment was made and kept. Two installers came on time, did the job professionally and cleaned up really well. We are enjoying the view out our new windows.

The work seems to be okay. The frames are from the 1950’s and the windows are very hard to be removed. They were able to remove the frames. Although, there seems to be some damage in the drywall caused by the removal and installation. They did put some drywall back in and nail it up. However, it is going to take some plastering and paint to complete the repair. Other than the small damages, everything seems to be okay and there have been no air or water leaks. They were on time and they completed the job quickly.

Brookside Home Improvement was great. They came when they said they'd come and just bang, bang, bang, got it done. I never heard another peep out of him. I guess I thought I might see him again or hear back from him, which I found a little disconcerting, but his people did a great job.

Someone came out first to measure the old windows. We discussed where I would have to upgrade to tempered glass (top of stairs and bathrooms), plus I wanted a couple of windows frosted. So that cost a bit more, but that was fine. He asked why I was replacing replacement windows (done before I moved in 12 years ago), and I explained that they were drafty. Then about 5 to 6 weeks later the windows were replaced. Luckily it wasn't the coldest day of the year. The only thing that sort of bothered me is that the installers told us they weren't supposed to "fix" some of the window areas--and I'm unsure if the windows are going to be fine in those places. They're in and they look great.

I bought two Angie's List Big Deals -- 5 windows for $2000 (meaning 10 for $4000) -- plus a picture window. The day after I purchased the Big Deals, a rep called to make an appointment to do measurements. He was quite knowledgeable about the different options available to me on the windows that weren't standard double-hung. The windows came in about 6 weeks later. Brookside sent two workers to do the job, and it took them about 7 hours to do all 11 windows. They were polite, efficient, and tidy. The new windows look fantastic, and I'm looking forward to a cozier house this winter.

My only knock is that they left thier promotional sign up in our yard for 3 months and I had to call to have them remove it.

I was very impressed by their professionalism and their ability to make you feel like a valued customer. I had 4 quotes in total and Eric made the experience go by very smooth and talked me through each step of the way. He was always there to answer questions and was very prompt in returning calls. He has a great team and they were all very respectful. Since they are small, scheduling is a bit hard but I knew that going into this. Larger companies can do jobs faster but I felt it was worth the wait and I'm very happy with the quality of the install and the windows. We did have an issue with the screens to fitting tight which Eric scheduled a call to the manufacturer who also was very nice. I've still yet to receive the new screens but they did schedule an install date in the near future..

I purchased the coupon for 5 installed windows from Angie's List and called the company. They came out right away and gave us an estimate since we were requesting additional work. It took a few weeks for the windows to be custom made but sooner than I had expected. The only tricky part was coordinating our schedules to get the job done. The day finally came, and everything went very well. The installer was on time and worked very efficiently. He did a fantastic job with the flashing and cleaned everything up really well. We love the windows and are very pleased.

Had a very good experience with Brookside. They came out and measured and we actually added 3 additional windows to the 10 we had purchased on Angie's List. It took about 8 weeks for the windows to come in, which seems like a long time to be honest. But when they came in, the guys came out and did the entire set in one day. They were professional, courteous and very clean. I would hire them again. We love our new windows.

Eric (the owner) gave me the estimate. He was direct and honest with his assessment of what work needed to be done, more so than others. After completing my comparison shopping (getting other estimates) I decided to contract Brookside. The work was completed in 2 days, as Eric had stated it would be. The 2 workmen were very professional and did an outstanding job. I couldn't be more pleased with the results.

A+ overall. No issues with this company. They did the work and cleaned up after. Very professional and quality work. They showed up on time and were friendly and considerate. I would highly recommend this company.

I am a repeat customer (3rd job with Brookside) and my most recent experience continued to be flawless. Punctual, courteous, detail-oriented and efficient are just four descriptors that are interchangeable with Brookside Home Improvement. The job went well with no concerns and Eric and his crew are unmatched. I particularly like the fact that all are honest and shoot you straight, about everything. For example, when I signed the work order (before windows were ordered) Eric pulled out his color wheel to ensure he was matching existing windows. Fast forward to day before installation: Eric came by just to double check. Another example: somehow bathroom window bottom sash arrived without tempered glass. Eric ensured correct window was priority ordered and it was installed one week later.I could write much more but I think the fact that I have had 3 outstanding experiences with Brookside speaks volumes.

Brookside recently replaced all of the windows in my house and my wife and I could not be more pleased. Eric and his team were extremely professsional and the quality of work done was impecable. The windows are very good quality for the price, and the installation could not have gond smoother. The workers were very neat, courteous and unbelivably fast. I would use Brookside or recommend them to someone in a heartbeat.

Eric and Brookside were fantastic to work with from start to finish. Early on, we got a bid from Eric along with several others. Eric was prompt, cheerful, and honest about what to expect for the work we wanted. His big came in in the middle of the pack. Not the lowest, but not the highest. When we asked for examples of his work we could go look at, he gave us a long list of houses he had done in Oak Park, all of which looked great. We set the start date a couple months in advance. He was able to get the job started within a couple days of the date we initially set, which we were happy with. At all times, whenever we had questions, Eric promptly answered them. While Eric's team was working, he stopped by daily to check on the progress. If they turned up something that might change the scope of work, he immediately checked in with us and asked us how we wanted to proceed. The replacement of the stairs and the front door was not in the original scope of work, but we decided we wanted to get it taken care of. Eric was great about adding on the work, and promptly gave us a reasonable quote to get it done. Everyday, his team did a great job of cleaning up the work site, making sure our home was not a disaster for the two weeks of work. I highly recommend working with Eric and would definitely use him and his team for projects in the future.

Eric was kind enough to come out twice - had called a few years ago, and at that time the price was too steep for (at the time) aesthetic improvements. However, as the years went by, it became mandatory - the old asphalt siding was literally cracking, absorbing water from rain, then curling and flying/falling off the house. Metal corner pieces, too. So, I called Eric again - he did remember the last time he was out and - amazingly - gave pretty much the identical quote (actually, now with more work - the first quote was insulation and siding over the old asphalt shingles - this time, he quoted for removing and discarding the old siding, and applying the new siding over styrofoam base). The crew was professional, showed up when they said they would, cleaned up on a daily basis, and took care to disturb us as little as possible. I would have no hesitation in hiring them again, nor would I hesitate to recommend them. It was a pleasant and positive experience with a contractor - and those are hard to find!

The owner and instillation crew were very easy to work with. Everything went smoothly. The windows took a couple hours to be installed. They cleaned up after them selves and would use them again.

Unbelievable service and workmanship! We needed new windows for our condominium unit and responded to a Big Deal on Angie’s List that Brookside Home Improvement was offering on vinyl Energy Star windows. We purchased the deal and got a call from Eric the next day. We made an appointment for him to look at our windows and he arrived on time. He was extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. He answered all our questions (he spent well over an hour with us) and confirmed that the windows would work in our situation even though he would have to customize the fit. He told us our installation would be in about six weeks and it was almost six weeks to the day! The installation crew arrived on time, were very pleasant and it was obvious they were extremely skilled. They worked quickly and neatly (very little dust) and had the entire installation of 8 windows done and cleaned up in less than a day! The windows are of very high quality and the workmanship was top notch. We couldn’t be more pleased with the results and the entire experience with Brookside Home Improvement. The experience was very positive from beginning to end thanks to Eric’s great customer service and his crew’s expertise. We would definitely use Brookside again for any of our home improvement projects!
