Acoustical Vision

Paul came to my home late, and was in a super big hurry. I showed him the work I needed done, all audio / visual in nature. He was rather rude and again very rushed the entire 10 minutes he spent with me. He also insisted on selling me new product and was not willing to use my existing home theater equipment. As opposed to his competition that spent almost an hour going over exactly what I needed really looked at my equipment and made everything work perfectly. I would not know how he compared in price because he never even sent me a proposal. I would not recommend this company.

I was impressed with the quality of workmanship, inluding relocating an electrical outlet. The result was great, and the TV looks great mounted on the wall. Paul and his crew worked quickly and were careful not to leave a mess.

Paul was very responsive in coming out and giving me ideas for hidden wiring I was trying to run to connect a home theater receiver to a TV and speakers in my living room. It's an older house that has some nice built-ins and woodwork that we didn't want to disturb. I was expecting to have some exposed cables with not so perfect integration based on another quote I received. Paul assured me that it was possible and that it would look much better. I received the quote within a day and work proceeded two days later. Paul and Pedro came out and were able to hide the wires as he thought and in addition, moved an electrical outlet to a more discreet location. They were fast and efficient and I would definitely use them again once I'm ready for a larger HT solution.

Paul and Pedro were running a little early and did a good job communicating that to me. They were professional and courteous, did a great job with the installation and clean up. Would highly recommend them, and will use them again for future projects.

Paul is top notch. Very professional and responsive. I have a 100 year old bungalow with horse hair plaster walls. So, I did have concern going into the project that it would be issue to hang two flat screen tv's on walls. I did read read up on the reviews for Acoustical Vision before contacting for an estimate. Which there was one that had the same situation with the old school plaster. During the estimation visit, Paul reassured me that it would not be a big deal and he had experience working with older homes. The work turned out great. It took him and his team two days to sort it out and he even made a follow up on my request for some technical trouble shooting. Overall I would say give Acoustical Vision a call for your project.

We were very pleased with the job that Acoustical Vision performed for us. Paul and his assistant arrived promptly and spent most of the day completing the required work (our home was built in 1906, so that alone presented some unique challenges). The living room looks great and has a nice "clean" feel with no visible wires. After running wires behind the plaster wall, which required opening it up in several places, they did a great job of patching it up afterwards so that it was "paint-ready," and cleaned up thoroughly before they left. We would definitely use Acoustical Vision again in the future!

We contacted Acoustical Visions to install a hardwired Ethernet connection from our office to the audio system in the living room, as we were upgrading our digital media player and a wireless conncetion was no longer sufficient. Paul was actually able to fit us into his schedule, installing the drop the day after we contected him. Paul and his assistant were courtious and professional during the install. The job itself was fairly straight-forward: the line was run along the basement ceiling, using and existing opening back to the main floor at one end connecting to an existing wall jack, and drilling and installing a floor jack at the other. Acoustical Vision did a nice job, and the wiring is neat and tidy. The job took a bit longer than expected, but nothing untoward. My only dissatisfaction is that they did not have the brass hardware that is generally used for a floor drop, despite my prior email clarifying that we wanted a floor drop. To Paul's credit, he did offer to come back and install the brass floor drop in the future, should we choose to replace the plastic drop that they used; but of course installing the brass drop in the first place would have been better. Overall though, I am happy with their service. They were able act quickly, were professional to work with, and even stuck around long enough to make sure the drop was working with my stereo system beyond just testing the line with their line testers.

Right from my first contact, Paul was friendly, responded right away, did what he said he would when he said he would... the type of business owner I value. Paul and his assistant came on a Saturday afternoon to.evaluate our set-up, make the corrections and adjustments necessary and then spent the time to educate us on how to operate it all. Paul also reminded me that Angie's List members were given a discount (I had seen the coupon offer previously but had forgotten to ask him for the discount.at the time we were settling up. I really appreciated that.) Paul also let us know that we could call him any time with additional questions. It was obvious from the phone and then in person that Paul knew what he was doing...no wasted time/no fumbling around. I would use this company again without hesitation.

Great service! They ran wiring for a TV mounted over the fireplace and moved a light fixture for a chandelier. I had mounted the TV myself, but gave up on the wiring after knocking the first hole in the wall. The installation looks great and they even patched the hole I made. In addition, they took great care to move and cover furniture to protect from dust, etc. They double checked all of the settings on all of the electronics and made certain everything was back in place and clean before leaving (they even organized my bird's nest of cables that was, and is, completely out of sight... even though no one will likely ever see those cables, I think it speaks to their professionalism that they took the extra effort to clean them up). Overall, I was extremely satisfied and will definitely be calling again.

He was not only nicely priced, but I got a lot more in the way of suggestions and input than the other two (the "big box" Best Buy was the absolute worst on both pricing and ideas). We had a few scheduling changes, but he knew I had a deadline and saw that we reached it. We did not have furniture for the system when he installed, but he agreed to come back at no charge and reconfigure things once we found the piece we needed--and he it did, and it looks great!I would strongly recommend you at least get an estimate from Paul. There were some miscommunication initially between us and I ended up leaving him a bad review on Angie's list after his not getting back with the quotes on time. But Paul amply made up apologizing profusely and fixing things exactly the way I wanted to my full satisfaction. He hooked up the Bose system in less than half hour and did a fine job. . He clearly gave me a discounted rate for the 1 hour he spent at my place. I would definitely hire him for any future jobs. Clearly, he is conscientious and professional.

I needed 5 plasmas installed and an whole house AV system that could be controlled from each location where the tvs were, without having any of the AV equipment visible. I contacted 3 different AV companies and decided to go with Acoustical Vision. I am very glad that I did. Paul was very easy to work with, honest and a hard worker. He helped me work through a few issues that came up and was open to trying different options to make sure that I was happy with the end result. After I had paid him, a couple of issues arose and Paul came back and quickly fixed the issues. I would highly recommend Acoustical vision for your AV project. He also installed a home network and wireless access point, programmed and provided universal remotes and base stations and built and wired the AV rack so that all components are organized and all wires are neatly hidden and labeled.

He came out a day after my call and worked around my problems-- scheduling issues and tight budget.

Paul was very eager and helpful in this project. I had a vision of what i wanted to get done and we worked together to make it happen. This was no simple task. Paul recess mounted a 64 inch plasma as well as large in wall speakers. Mind you this is a RECESSED mounting not a standard wall mount. Paul had to cut the studs in the wall and reframe not only a spot for the TV but the center channel speaker too. He was knowledgeable and offered assistance in the planning and execution of this project.In the end I had everything I wanted to complete taken care of. I ended up with a beautifully installed and mounted TV and speakers. He also mounted an extra TV in the office, wired the condo for data and installed a ceiling light. In the future there needs to be extra attention to detail and clean up..... cutting drywall is a huge mess. I had to clean it up. Also, needed Paul to come back and finish pulling speaker wire. Project took longer than expected. All things considered, Paul did a great job. He was also much cheaper than his competitors.I would use him again and have already recommended him to a colleague.

I called Paul on a Thursday to see if was able to schedule some time to come by and provide an estimate for the work i needed done. My home was repainted and i had to unhook all the wiring to my receiver in order to provide the painter access to the wall, and having had the work done a few years ago, i was unsure as to how they needed to be reconnected. Paul mentioned he was doing a job nearby on the following day (Friday) and asked if he could swing by after that job to take a look. Thankfully, after looking at the wiring, he said he could do the job in about an hour and got to work immediately! Once completed, he made sure everything was connected properly and also took the time to help me establish the optimal sound for all components. The job was done professionally and seamlessly; i couldn't have been more pleased.

Went great. Paul called when he was on his way to say that traffic was slower than expected and he would be a few minutes late. He and Sam arrived and mounted one of our tv's above our fireplace. The other tv was more of an issue...there was no existing mount and the cable outlet was on the other side of the room from where we wanted the tv mounted. They proposed running a cable up and around along the ceiling/molding to the other side instead of running cable through the wall (we are only renting this apartment). Both tv's were mounted and working great in under two hours. Paul labeled our inputs on our remotes too, so we knew how to switch between cable and dvd's--something we are clueless about.

The work quality was good. No issues. They did have some issues getting the repeater system to work but that ended up being a hardware issue that was eventually resolved. This meant they had to make a return trip. The service was very good. They were willing to work around my schedule. They ended up having to move one appointment and were a few minutes late to another but in both cases they called early to keep me informed. In general a good experience.

I [stupidly] bought a Denon receiver that got great reviews for performance but really horrible reviews in terms of ease of installation. After several frustrating days in h*** trying to figure it out myself, I finally gave up and started searching online for Chicago-area home theatre installation guys. I ended up calling Acoustical Vision because 1) their website was professional and not rife with misspellings, and 2) they got great reviews on Angie's List and Yelp. Paul's first service was to talk me down off the ledge; once he got here, he was just great about explaining, labeling, and setting everything up so that I could understand it later. The final price was much lower than I expected, and they were worth every penny. I would not hesitate to use them again, and I will be recommending them to all of my friends.

Paul was extremely responsive and flexible in terms of providing a quote. He even came out to take a look at the job and provide an estimate on the weekend. In terms of actually completing the job, he did a very nice job. Handled the entire matter professionally and delivered exactly what he said he would at high quality. I did find myself (negatively) surprised at times at the cost quoted. It wasn't a huge amount, but enough to be a bit disappointing. I suggest reviewing estimates/quotes in detail. Overall though, I would work with acoustical vision again.

Paul and his team (Gabe and Sam) did an excellent job mounting a 50" plasma above our fireplace. Before they did anything, they talked through how best to position the TV and recommended several ways to "future-proof" the installation. They ultimately hung the mount high enough to leave room for a center channel speaker, and, in addition to 2 HDMI cables, ran Cat-6 cable and 14-gauge speaker wire through the wall. After the installation, I made an off-the-cuff comment about how it was stupid of our condo builder to put a phone jack next to the cable outlet rather than an Ethernet port. Paul said that he could easily fix it, and did so for a nominal fee. The entire crew was cheerful and courteous. They removed their shoes before entering our condo and cleaned-up all the installation debris before they left. I would enthusiastically recommend Acoustical Vision for all home theater installations.

I hired Accoustical Vision to hang/install two tvs in my new condo and I'm 100% satisfied with the work they did. Paul (the owner) and his two employees are friendly, professional, and highly skilled. Also, the pricing was very reasonable. The highest praise I can give to Acoustical Vision is that I will hire the company if/when I have electronic installation needs in the future, and I would highly recommend the company to family and friends.
