Trela Roofing and Remodeling

Rob Trela gave me an estimate on Tuesday, and the crew came out on Thursday and completed the work. They ripped off the old shingles, replaced a few rotted boards, put down felt and then new shingles. They cleaned up thoroughly and hauled away the old roofing. After they left I realized there were a number of nails left on the roof, so I called them. Two of the men came right back out and took care of it. One of the men even rang my doorbell and apologized for missing those nails. Rob came out the next week to hand me the guarantee for the shingles and give me the bill. What a pleasure to deal with a company that cares about customer satisfaction!

They did an excellent job. They were very professional and everything was done on time. They cleaned up after themselves.

They are prompt and courteous with their services. I have used them before and I know that the workers are of good quality. They gave me an estimate with the fair price within forty eight hours that I called them.

I have a 3 floor townhome. On the bottom floor, near the shared wall between my townhome and neighbor's TH, we noticed a water spot in our ceiling. We called Trela to determine if this was in fact a roof leak that was trickling between townhome units. Turns out it wasn't. They offered to find the source of the problem by opening the ceiling which I was nervous about, but they assured me they would find the source and repair the ceiling. They showed me that the dryer vent (which runs above our ceiling) was leaking. They fixed the leak in the dryer vent, replaced the drywall and painted the ceiling.

My husband spoke on the phone with a rep. from Trela Roofing about ice dam problems we have. We heard that they may come from improper ventilation and insulation, so we wanted an estimae. The rep suggested the heated wire apparatus, and then he went on to say that it's very difficult to insulate these type old houses( what type?; he didn't see it and it was built in 1957.) My husband said he had the feeling that he didn't want the job. He then proceeded to ask who did our roof. Since this company is just down and around a couple of streets from us my husband asked if he could come take a look, give an estimate and recommendation. this was on a Fri. and the appt. was made for the following Wed. Wed. comes, the man calls and says he has an emergencyand will call later on that day to reschedule. We're still waiting; it's been a week.

The roof turned out great. The crew was very nice and they made sure to clean up after themselves. I was impressed with the service I received, but was disappointed with the customer service. The price seemed to be just right. I honestly had no problems with Trela. I would use them again, because the workers did an excellent job.

They arrived on time, completed the work in a professional and timely manner. They installed the windows, took away the old windows, storm windows and screen, and cleanede the work area. They finished on time.

Prompt estimate by Ryan - with 3 different alternatives so I could choose which level of insulation I wanted. Actual work day workers were prompt and courteous and laid tarp for everywhere they would be working (on a winter day) work was completed and everything cleaned up and I was offered the opportunity to check the work (which was done through a closet access door and very seldom accessed and requires a ladder) which I appreciated because of a the ladder requirement and very seldom looking in attic. They finished off with insulation on the attic access door and clean up.

Job took 2 days. Crew arrived on time and cleaned up after they left each day. The final bill was received 2 weeks after job was completed. I was a little skeptical about the replacement of the attic fans with ridge vents, but couldn't be more pleased. I have recommended this company to friends.

Crew arrived on time on the day scheduled. Skylight was installed in about 3 hours. They were able to bring along extra matching roof shingles (they installed a new roof a few months earlier) to finish properly. The carpentry crew arrived a week later to finish the inside which included painting the wood trim. Looks great. Should have had it replaced sooner. Now that it is colder, I notice how much better the new skylight insulates. The bill was received 2 weeks after job was completed.

They came out very quickly and they did very good work. They worked very hard and they stuck to their estimate. I would highly recommend them and use them again.

It took them about a day and a half for them to complete all of the roofing. I would recommend them and would use them again in the future in needed. They also put in two mirror vents for the attic. It went great. I did not need to be home. They matched the color to the color of my gutters exactly as I requested. I went to work in the morning and I came home and the wrap was complete. They disposed of the old wrap for me as well.

The salesman, Ryan is very professional, honest and has integrity. My attic needed roofing vents installed for ventilation. Ryan told the workers to add the roofing vents without additional charge to me.

The installation and work product are top notch. I was extremely satisfied with the quality of the workmanship and the workers at my home. All were very professional and true craftsman. I believe the price paid was fair for the quality. Although not the least expensive they were toward the bottom of five estimates. I was less satisfied with the sales rep-the owners son. 1. Get everything in writing. We had a situation where I changed from aluminum to copper gutters then back to aluminum. He did not honor the original price but instead increased it $500. My husband is in the metals industry. The price had increased by $47 for product-not $500. We were in a tough spot since they had already done the install. He did not disagree when I said he was taking advantage of the situation. My mistake for assuming Ryan was an honorable guy. 2. Determine ahead of time the proper way to install and vent your roof. Although Ryan has a good handle on a basic roof installation he was lacking in creative ventilation solutions. Had I used his idea the warranty would not have been honored by Certainteed *verified by a call to Certainteed*. 4. Be wary of anyone who wants to do roofing work when the temp is close to freezing. They ran late and could not complete the roof coating on the flat portion. Ryan was pushing to do it. I called the manufacturer who confirmed my opinion that although it could be done it was not a good idea. I decided to hold back a large portion of their payment to ensure that they would return in the spring. 3. Be a man or have your husband deal with him. 5 out of the 7 times I called Ryan he did not call me back. When my husband called he returned the call within an hour. My family has run a rehab business for twenty years. While in college my dad actually had me help install a roof. I was the more knowledgeable of me and my husband. That should not have had to happen. All that being said--I would hire them again based on their crew. At the end of the day it is the install that matters. It really is great. Those guys don't cut corners. They were respectful of me and my home. There was damage to a few plants (two in particular). I brought this up to Ryan in the spring seeking a credit since they were new and should have been covered more adequately. I had attempted to nurse them back to health to no avail. He actually attempted to weazel out of it saying that I should have told him at the time. Well, I guess no good deed goes unpunished. He did end up sending me a check for those two bushes. Still, I have recommended them to others with all of these caveats. And truth be told---you really need to watch yourself with anyone in this industry. Roofing/windows/siding is a high margin racket. Understand that regardless who you hire. At the end of the day the salesperson doesn't matter. It is the product and installation.

The company was out at the house and had an estimate in my hand before the other two firms I requested estimates from had even returned my e-mails. The job was accomplished promptly and professionally. The workers went to lengths to cover the lawn and flowers to protect from any debris coming off the roof, and they cleaned everything afterward. If I hadn't been there watching them, I would have never known they were there.

At first it took them a little while to get back to us, but when we made the appointment they came right out. When they said they would come out they did! They were very busy at the time of the year, but they would always come when they said they would be there. They were also very professional.

The company's representative came out albeit 30 minutes later than schedule, took measurements for the siding by counting paces along side the home and very briefly discussed what the project would entail. A few days later, I received a written estimate which detailed the work to be done. Unfortunately, much of the estimate used terminology I was not familiar with. I had also asked during the initial visit whether they could estimate construction of a dormer as well. The company rep. indicated that they couldn't estimate the construction of the dormer until I had an architect draw up plans. He said Trela was not a Design-Build firm but could build based on an existing design. Since receiving the written estimate last month, I haven't heard back from Trela so I decided to use another firm.

Very professional presentation. Very prompt return call. Very prompt visit to make inspection and measurements and prompt estimate given.

Trela Roofing and Remodeling was very professional and their estimate was exactly what we were billed for the services rendered. They answered my many difficult questions and eased my concerns throughout the process. They were prompt and courteous and the team that installed the windows were quick and clean! The laborers were all professional and I could easily identify each of them as a Trela Roofing and Remodeling employee. With other service companies that have been to my home, I seldom know if they are employed by the company I hired because they arrive in unmarked vehicles and have no company affiliation on their clothing, which makes me uncomfortable.

Since this project was not one I thought that Trela Roofing & Remodeling could undertake, I was surprised that they did this project in conjunction with the skylight shade project. I know that if I was to hire another contractor that this would have cost much more. I'm glad I was able to do two projects for the price of one.

The company was prompt and professional from the estimate to the installation of the product. Although their prices might be slightly higher than the competition, I know that I paid for a quality product and quality service.

Again, Trela Roofing & Remodeling was very professional and we are very happy with the quality products that were installed.
