Foreman & crew arrived on time (each day). Foreman introduced himself, told me the process they would follow, answered all of my questions and began work. Did some every day until finished. Left property clean and neat. Trela is the BEST contractor I have ever used...and I have used many over the past 50 years.

Wonderful! came out fixed what I asked for, sent me an invoice. I did not even need to pay with a CC right away. They send me an invoice with a self addressed stamped envelope. You can tell this is an honest company.
Description of Work: This is a wonderful company. I called and spoke directly with the owner. I explained I had an investment property and did not want to put much money into it at this time. . Shingles had blown iff during a storm. He came back advising me that I needed a new roof but, he was willing to do the repair I requested. I had another company give me a bid on a new roof that was cheaper but refused to do just the part where the shingles had blown off. Not only did Trela roofing replace the shingles but, they match pretty close to the much older shingles on the rest of the roof. I guess my point is they cared enough to make it look as good as they could even though it was just a bandaid fix!

They did a good job. The workers were very courteous. They came when they said they were going to come, and they were very neat. I like how they hauled and moved everything. If it wasn't for the dogs barking and a couple hammers here and there I would have never even known they were here.
Description of Work: They repaired my roof, did some siding, and re-shingled. After they put on new siding they also did some painting. They replaced some furnace piping and some exhaust metal, and they also winterguarded. While they were here they installed some vents and put in flashings to keep water from pooling.

Overall it was a great experience from making the appointment to doing the work. Ryan showed up with his staff right when he said he would. We discused there was a possibility of missing shingles due to wind. His staff inspected everything and replaced the missing shingles along with the maintenance sealing. They also cleaned the gutters and checked the garage roof and gutters. They were all very respectful and hard working. They were done in no time at all. I will be needing a new roof in a few years and will definitely be call Trela Roofing for the job.
Description of Work: I purchased a maintenance package from Trela Roofing through Angie's List. The package included checking the shingles, sealing vents, checking gutters. Overall making sure there were not problems.

Two bird's nest were found in the gutters which were removed, disposed of in plastic bags and taken away when the job was done. We really appreciated the courteous and professional service. They were on time for the appointment, as promised, and expedited the service quickly. Results of the inspection were explained in clear detail. We highly recommend Trela Roofing and will use them again in the future as needs arise.

It was a terrible experience. I called them to let know about my complaint, but they said that the project was completed and requested payment. There is water every and it is backing up before it even gets to where is supposed to run off. They are aware of this situation because I have sent them letters. On September 22, 2010, I contracted with your company, Trela Roofing & Remodeling, to install a complete tear off roof. In addition, the contract for replacement of gutters and down spouts to include flashing, for the chimney, five vents to replace the existing vents and insulation for the attic. During the installation, Bill was told that the down spouts were not installed correctly or where I would have suggested. I expressed my concerns about placement for the down spouts, that the run off would cause problems. Bill stated that if there were problems that you would correct the problems (The problems are the water is running up against the foundation of my house, catch basin and air conditioner, as well as, the front of my house where my evergreens are. Note: the down spouts were already installed when I saw the location. Now, let?s get to the down spouts not being pitched correctly or sealed properly. The water is running at the back of the down spouts causing the water to release to the foundation and the leaves can not flush out, causing the gutters to build up with trash. The ground is sinking due to excessive water cause by the location of the down spouts. Trela Roofing have not repaired any of the ongoing problems and this is causing conditions to worsen. Also, water is leaking around the chimney on both sides, probably because of the patched flashing that was installed. I also, voiced my opinion regarding the 3 piece of scrap that was used for the flashing on the chimney. The water is not going into the gutters as it should which is causing the internal walls of my bedroom and closets where the chimney meets the walls to be very cold and wet. I called Mr. Robert Trela to discuss the problems that I was having and he told me that I had to discuss it with Ryan Trela. Each time, I called Ryan, he would tell me that the job was completed. After the job was done, Ryan came to my home twice, the first time Ryan came to my house was to get a globe from my closet so he said that he was going to replace it because it was broken when one of the workers? dropped a bundle of shingles. During his short visit Mr. Biggins and I showed him the closet so he could feel how cold and wet the walls were. Ryan stated that the closets should be cold and wet. At that time, I asked Ryan why did he tell me that adding more insulation that cost me $803.00 dollars would solve the problems. This additional cost did not solve the problem. Your workers blew the insulation into the attic thru a vent and the insulation was not spread out/level. Not any of the area was covered with insulation, the workers left the insulation in the middle of the attic. On November 17, 2010, Ryan came to my home to look at the down spouts in the back of my house and not the front of my house, which have the same problem. Ryan told me that he could run the dam down spouts 20 or 40 feet, I ask Ryan how would the grass man have access to cut the grass, by this time Ryan became hostile and his attitude toward me frighten me and I told Ryan that I would ask Mr. Biggins to call him regarding the problems which he had already talk to Ryan about. So I ask Ryan to come into my house so that I could give him a hand copy of what we discussed on November 17, 2010. At that time Ryan told me to shut up and listen to him. At that point, I asked Ryan to leave and I gave Ryan a handwritten copy of what we had discussed, this is the reason that I always have someone to be with me when I have a contractor come to my house. I still need to have the roof, gutter and downspouts replaced. I have paid them $6000. They still did not come to inspect the roof. The son of the owner was very rude when speaking with me about my complaints.
Description of Work: I hired Trela Roofing and Remodeling for an entire roof replacement.

Bob Trela came out with two of his employees and after introductions, inspected the entire roof including some areas I was concerned about. They resealed one of the plumbing vents with a lead collar and repaired a couple of tiles using extra tile that I had on hand. They inspected the chimney cap and at my request, used my "flip" video camera to film it and show me too a first hand look. They were done inside of an hour after they finished caulking and discussing the general condition of the roof. You can tell when people know what they are doing and Trela Roofing definitely knows their business! They will be following up soon with an estimate for a new roof and a new chimney cap. Definitely worth what paid for I was impressed with their professionalism. I wil do business with them again!
Description of Work: Inspected the roof noted issues repaired shingles, caulked as needed and documented areas of concern replaced rubber plumbing vent boot with a malleable lead boot followup with a quote for a new roof and chimney cap. took care to put everything back in its place.

Work was scheduled and done with no delays. Final bill was sent on time and included materials for the additional services the company provides, which is very helpful. The rating for QUALITY is something I am not completely comfortable reporting as it has been only few days since the installation. I have company's assurance that the improvement will be notisable, but it is still spring and is hard to report relaible results.
Description of Work: Insulation was added in the attic. Per Trela rep the existing insulation was probably the original one - home was build in 1960's. The communications with company rep was very pleasant and all my questions answered promptly and in needed details. The R-factor mentioned on the estimate slightly differs from the final paper work, but I am not sure if this is industry accepted manner. I

Overall, I am pleased with Trela Roofing. I can say they are reliable and efficient. They did what they said they would do! I would hire them again. On April 4, 2012, the garage was repaired in one afternoon in a timely fashion with all debris carried away.
Description of Work: In February, when I called, the company answered my call promptly and send a worker the next day to inspect our garage roof, which was in need of a repair and followed up with an estimate. Later the sales rep displayed single samples, we decided on a color and signed a contract for work to be done after April 1st.

I purchased 2 Big Deal Coupons for the blown-in insulation. Robert, the owner, called me to set up a time for an estimate and willing to come out later in the evening to accommodate my schedule. He was on time, looked in my space, and told me he would email me the next day with a detailed estimate with three options along with the prices. While he was there he made me aware of how much insulation I already had and would probably need. Although he did inform me that the least expensive option would work for my house, I went with the middle option. I got several times to come up with a day and time that would work for me. The installers were right on time, worked very quickly and quietly. It was a fantastic experience and I will use them for future projects.

They were very professional and they showed up on time. They called right before they came so that I knew to be looking for them. He dressed neatly and wasn't pushy with me. I was impressed because he actually got on the roof to assess the needs of our project. He was very knowledgable and didn't try to force me into doing something right away. He recommended that we get our chimney done first before getting the roof done. I will probably go with this company if we end up having our roof replaced.

My new patio door screens were installed in a timely manner and at a fair cost.
Description of Work: We contacted Trela Roofing and Remodeling since none of the patio doors on our new house had screens. Apparently the previous owner never opened the sliding doors. The sales man, Ryan, came out to take measurements (from the outside –we didn’t even need to be home) and contacted me to let me know the screens would be a custom order. Whenever I hear custom, I always think it will be expensive. However, the estimate provided was for a reasonable amount and I had them installed as soon as they were delivered in order to enjoy the breeze flowing in for the unseasonably warm weather we’re having this March.

I've used Trela a number of times and have been very satisfied with their service and quality which is why I called them to give me an estimate to replace stolen copper downspouts. As always, they came out quickly, were professional, and got back to me the same day with a detailed estimate of the replacement cost. It was also suggested that I consider copper toned aluminum replacements given the cost of copper and concerns about a repeat problem. While our intention was to replace the downspouts with copper, we thought this was a good suggestion and asked for a quote on both the copper and aluminum options. I was told that if I went with aluminum, they would need to replace the entire downspout for aesthetic purposes instead of the copper which would be connected at the point of loss. The individual who provided the estimate did not actually measure the amount of copper to be replaced. This would have been fairly easy since 5 of the 6 downspouts were only taken a few feet off the ground. I thought that it was odd that he just eyeballed the amount needed but didn't bring it up since I had good faith in Trela based on past experience. An estimate was promptly received that afternoon via email. The cost to replace the downspouts with copper was quoted at $2,465 based on a usage of 130ft. The aluminum quote was $1,840 based on 200ft. Our sense was that the copper usage of 130ft was significantly overestimated so we measured the actual amount of copper missing and came up with 50ft. Even if you take into consideration a small amount of waste, the difference in the amount of material estimated by Trela versus what was needed was way out of line. Normally I would just move on to another contractor, but given my good experience with Trela, I sent them a note asking them to rebid based on the actual amount needed which I thought was very generous given the circumstances. They did not respond to my email. I received the same original quote by paper mail a few days later. I was disappointed in Trela. They may have disagreed with our estimate of material needed, but at least they should have addressed my numbers and defended their position given that I've done a lot of business with them in the past. Common courtesy. My downspouts were replaced in copper (a perfect match) for $825. The contractor used 50 feet of material. This is a huge difference in both material needed and the cost estimate of $2,465. quoted by Trela.

The system works wonderfully, doesn’t require any homeowner maintenance and the gutter guards are not visible to anyone looking at our roof or gutters.
Description of Work: We contacted Trela Roofing and Remodeling for new gutter guards on our new house. We knew we needed something to help with the large trees surrounding our two story that would cause clogging problems in not only our gutters but also our downspouts. It’s very unsafe to clean out the gutters by hoisting a ladder and balancing unsteadily on the arched roof. The sales team was able to provide us with a gutter guard protection product specifically to meet our needs.
