Trela Roofing and Remodeling

The installation was done on a Saturday morning. I got a confirmation call from Trela Friday night and a call on Saturday letting me know they were on their way. Arrival was on schedule. Work commenced immediately and was completed in less than an hour. They were very efficient. Clean, relatively quiet and professional. Unfortunately, I did not read the "fine print" which stated that the $475 Big Deal price applied to one story homes only. My home is single family (with bedrooms upstairs), but two stories, so there was a $200 upcharge. I would highly recommend them for solar attic fan installations.

initial sale occurred over the phone. we discussed the purchase of the solar fan. afterwards Trela suggest that i had a larger problem. he advised me his recommendation to correct the problem. after our discussion, Trela made a follow up visit to my home to confirm details. this is a family run business, i had contact with both the dad and son. it appears that this company will definitely be around for another generation.

They were great. The installation took less than an hour. The fan makes a big difference in the attic temperature. I've been recommending it to everyone.

We received 3 quotes for our tear-off project and Trela was one of them. 2 of the quotes were under 10K but Trela's (for the exact same work) was 21K. Not sure if they didn't 'want' the work and deliberately priced themselves out of the bidding process ... or, they really do charge more than twice their competition. For the record, our final price was 9,800. I subsequently followed-up with Trela asking for an explanation of their price but never heard back from them via phone or email.

Everything went great. Kevin came early, worked diligently, and was able to problem shoot to solve some unexpected issues. He cleaned up after himself and even offered to take off his shoes before entering (I cannot tell you how many contractors just waltz right through a clean floor with their muddy shoes!) I was very satisfied with their pricing and it was a relief that I was not trying to be sold on a new roof. I know my roof is older and maybe has a few years left, and to a more devious company, they would have probably tried to get me to put on a new roof, but I was told that the roof was fine and had a couple of years left. I would highly recommend Trela. Scheduling was also very simple and they can work around your time frame.

I had called this company to set an appointment for an estimate on possible tuckpointing work and also for gutter cleaning. I received a call from Ryan the day before our appointment wherein he asked if it was agreeable with me for our appointment to take place a few hours later than had originally been agreed on - to which I agreed. I was pleasantly surprised when he arrived a tad earlier. He assessed the brick on my house, and gave me his honest assessment that it did not appear that I needed tuckpointing at this time - in his opinion, the condition of brick and mortar looked fine. I admired the fact that he didn't try to "sell" his company's service for something I didn't need to have done at this juncture. He did an "on-the-spot" gutter cleaning on my house, told me that there were only a few places that needed to be cleared, but that 90% of the gutters were clean. He didnt' even use gloves - used his bare hands to clean out the gunk. When I asked him what I owed him for what he did, he said "nothing" - I insisted on giving him some money -- but he refused to take it -- and I was thunderstruck in the most wonderful way. I could not believe my good fortune at meeting up with a person / company that is not dollar driven to soap the consumer / customer for whatever they can get out of them!! I will definitely do business with Trela Roofin in the future for whatever roofing/gutter/house remodeling needs might come up, feeling confident that they are probably not going to likely be looking to rip me off!!! I was very impressed, and will recommend Trela Roofing to anyone I know who might need these kinds of services to give Trela Roofing the opportunity to be the company to help them out.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that we purchased. We were satisfied as far as the inspection. They did what they were supposed to do. They gave us a price to add additional insulation in the crawlspace but we are not having them do the work at this time. They came out the day and time that we set up. He was very cordial and explained everything he was doing. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend them but they didn't actually do any work for us. Their pricing was fair. We were well satisfied with their professionalism.

Because of the wet weather, it took a while between when I signed the contract and the work could be done. Once the job was schedlued, they arrived on time, were very polite, worked quickly and cleaned-up after themselves. They even went over and above by cleaning out my gutters while they were on the roof and instead of just touching-up the one area of the bathroom that showed the leak, after replacing the damaged dry wall he re-painted my entire bathroom to the original color. I waited until we had several hard rains to write this review because I wanted to be sure the problem was solved. I am happy to report I no longer have the leaks. The sky-light works well and my bathroom looks great once again. Thanks Trela.

I called Trela Roofing on a Friday and left message. They called back next day and said he would go out that Monday. After not hearing back from them I called back a week later and was told they would call me back. When they called back (Ryan) they emailed me an estimate for $9,940, never went over anything with me, never asked to meet me at the property to go over the estimate or let me ask any questions. I would not recommend this company, not very professional. They did send 3 or 4 pages telling me about their family history and pictures of wife and children!!

I purchased the Big Deal and called the company to set up a time for a visit. They called me several times to keep me apprised of their approximate date of arrival. This kept changing due to continual rain but they did call back each time to let me know. After they performed the service they called to make sure I was satisfied. I was happy with their costomer srvice and the quality of their work.

In case there was some confusion, I explained that my jobs were 13 miles and 20 miles form their headquarters. There was no confusion. The gentleman said that they were not licensed in the communities. For those readers that may not be aware, many communities require a license, certificate of insurance, registration, and a fee of $100-$150 annually for any contractor performing work in their jurisdiction. This is a reasonable process to ensure quality of work, authenticity of contractor, and compliance with permitting & local building codes. When I explained this and offered to cover reasonable costs, I was once again told that they were already overbooked with work and could not take on more at this time. Frustrated, I asked if Trela had more work than they can possibly perform, why in the world would they be running a "BIG DEAL" on Angie's List? The deal came across my email just hours before I contacted them. The phone contact lasted about 1 - 2 minutes. I can only imagine why Trela would refuse to perform work in certain communities or run promotions when they are unable to provide services. These are big red flags. Buyer beware!
