Trela Roofing and Remodeling

Arrived a little late due to traffic & weather. All else went very well as promised.

Trela Roofing came earlier than expected. Told me what they would do and did an excellent job.

They were supposed to be here at noon. I called them around 12:30pm to ask where they were. He told me that I was scheduled for next week. I told him that was impossible because I will not be here next week. He argued with me about the day we had scheduled and I decided to get a refund.

Unable to provide estimate for over 2 weeks, but most importantly, only willing to provide estimates 9-5 pm and unable to try and discuss over the phone. Some people's schedules don't allow that. Not very accommodating or interested in the work.

Very professional, prompt, courteous, answered all our questions, cleaned up after installation of roof & gutters. Very pleased with work and would definitely recommend /use them again. Perfect work!

Mike came out today. He was extremely nice and seemed very knowledgeable. If we decide to go forward with skylight replacement, I would be happy if he showed up to do the job.

Two workers arrived on time, review the work area with me, set-up the their equipment. Work completed about an hour.

It all went well. They were punctual, professional and cleaned up as needed.

Not so good. I contacted the company based on the Angie's list deal. The first question I had was regarding the type of siding I wanted which si board and baton and asked if that style of Hardie was including in the offer. I was told it was. The estimator, Ryan, said he wanted to be the one to come out and give the estimate and he wanted me to be home and I basically had to work around his schedule and take time off work if I wanted to see him. I could have had someone else come out from his company who could accommodate my schedule but he suggested it was better if I saw him. I took a day off work. A few days later my car broke down and I called Ryan asking to reschedule the appointment to Monday to consolidate my time off work that week. He never returned the call. He showed up Thursday that week and after discussing the project, I asked when he'd get the estimate in so we wouldn't miss the deal. He then informed me the board and baton siding on my home wasn't covered in the deal, although I'd asked before he came out and there wasn't anything specifically listing exclusions from the deal. He then said he's price it out as aggressively as possible and we'd have the estimate the following day or that next Monday. I called him the Wednesday after when I hadn't heard from him and had to ask him why we didn't have our estimate yet. He said he was waiting on the pricing on a long trim board and didn't tell me when he'd have it. It was the following Monday, a week and a half after our meeting, when he emailed the estimate, which was 50% more expensive than every other estimate I've received. So much for aggressive pricing. Based on the lack of follow through and communication and the misrepresentation of the Angie's list deal and the outrageous pricing, I will not use this company.

Someone came out and looked a the roof and said it was damaged and need to be replaced instead of having roof maintenance. As a result, he said I could get a refund.

Trela Roofing & Remodeling started and completed the project on time and we are very pleased with the results. We were a bit nervous about switching from cedar shake to an asphalt shingle because we really liked the look of the cedar roof, however, they were very knowledgeable and thorough with providing all product details on different asphalt shingles we were considering. They provided a list of nearby recently completed jobs in different types of shingles and colors so we could compare. In terms of the skylight, the sales team recommended having 2 of the 4 skylights open after we explained how we envision using the skylights and which rooms they were in and what direction they faced (sun vs no sun). I was impressed that they didn't recommend the higher priced skylights that opened for all 4 but only recommended 2 openings to help with ventilation. The crew was highly professional and always kept the job site clean and secure (we have little kids and were a bit worried about debris in the yard or driveway where they play). During the job, the sales team kept us updated on the progress (even what might happen when there was a threat of rain) and even had a few suggestions on additional woodworking detail on the eave of our garage (which we went ahead and did and it looks very nice). This company has been around for years and years and is family owned. I'm confident that if I had a question or concern in the future on my roof or skylights or gutters, they would provide exceptional customer service as they did throughout the job. I would highly recommend this company for all your roofing and remodeling needs. We are very pleased with our new roof - our house looks like it has been transformed and we are very excited about the warranty of our roof as well as the no maintenance required with an asphalt shingle. We will be contacting them when we need to replace our windows shortly.

Prompt, clean, professional. All employees were courteous and knowledable.

Went well, wont really know till winter to see if I get the ice damming issues I had before, but they showed me pictures of what the last roofer did and it certainly explains why I was having the problems with these specific sky lights and none of the others.

Finished work. Looks great! Crew polite & professional. Left properly clean each day after work.

We were getting ready to put the house on the market and we wanted him to find if there was anything major that needed to be done. They were responsive and came out when they said they would. My husband was home at the time when the technician came. He said that the technician didn’t actually go up into the attic. I found that strange as I assumed the technician would need to go up into the attic to complete the full inspection. He went up on a ladder and peeked his head into the attic and used a flashlight. He did send us a report that had several recommendations for additional work to be done. The estimate for the additional work came to about $1,000. We did not go forward with any of the work.

Arrived promptly, installed as needed, followed up as needed and was completed in a timely manner.

Everything went according to plan and a profession job completed.

It went very well. Work was done in half and hour workmen were cordial.

Workers on time excellent work I would use TRELA again.

Ok. We gave Ryan a deposit check in August. Horrible weather, long delay. Finally we decided on a bigger job than we had originally planned.

This is just an FYI for future customers. Although the Profile says that Trela Roofing serves Cook County, they do not provide service to Mount Prospect. I just had a message from Robert Trela saying as much, so this review is just so Mt. Prospect residents don't waste valuable time researching them. Other than their services limits, my contact with them was brief but satisfactory. That's why I gave them a C overall.

Went fine very conscientious installers who took care to tacp inside under work area friendly and helpful.

So I don't know about there service.

The provider did NOTHING because they never showed up to look at our roof. We called to set up an appointment and set it up for the end of June. They did not show up. We called them back to ask why no one came for our service call and left a message. No one returned our call.

Please note that these guys do not do services in Logan Square or anything this far NW ... It appears as if they do, and according to Angie's List there are over 27 reviews near me ... but I called twice to double check and they do not do services in this area.
