Trela Roofing and Remodeling

My skylights are still leaking. They have came out initially. They leaked after the initial visit and they came out a second time. It is now leaking again. Trela came out for a third time on August 20th to try to find and fix the leaks. They came out 2 days after I called Angie. They were responsive to the call. I will wait until it rains to see if the skylights leak. I understand it is difficult to find Skylight leaks but I am hoping three times out to the house will do it. I Will write a final review. Trela Roofing performed an inspection of my extremely large and steep roof, from both the outside and inside the attic. Ryan and Rich were great and both very professional. My roof is about 14 years old, in good shape according to them and not in need of any repairs yet. They were thorough, professional and honest. Not once did they try to sell me on something I didn't need. I would definitely use this company for roof repairs and future inspections.

All went very well. The workers were friendly and professional. Very prompt, said be there at 8:00 and were. The foreman was there at all times overlooking the job. Clean-up was very good.

It was a fast installation, less than an hour I think. Pretty non-invasive too. I appreciated the detailed explanation over the phone before I bought the deal on angieslist website. They answered all my questions with good courtesy and they said they'd take a look at any damage from a family of raccoons that had recently taken up residence in our attic and we had removed. They said damage was minimal and they repositioned the shingling to cover the hole/access that the raccoons had made, free of charge. We were so pleased with the whole service.

In May we began the search for the roofing contractor. We selected 4 businesses off Angie's list with good reviews. We reject the the low and high bids and negotiated with the two in the middle, one of which was Trela Roofing. In truth, Trela was a little more than the other contractor, but we really liked Mike (sales guy) better than the other person from the other contractor. Mike was very personable and very responsive to our questions and concerns. He was also very knowlegable about roofing and that was very helpful for those of us that know practically nothing about the subject. We agreed on terms and signed the contract. I say that like it was one and done, but it wasn't. There was a fair amount of back and forth on the contractual terms and we had to go back to them a few times. This is why it is so important to get things in writing. It wasn't more than an hour before we already had a misunderstanding on what work was going to be done and it was back to the contract and the e-mails. In any event, we got it corrected and Trela stood by their agreement(s). The work was done the second week of June and the crew chief, Rich, was in contact with us regarding weather issues. And because of the off and on again rain pattern, the job took a little longer than anticipated. The end result, however, is a beautiful new roof. We love the look and the new ridge vents are already making it cooler upstairs. In short: Very happy with the roof and the Trela group. We would definately recommend to others.

Replaced an old skylight .Excellent company, had used them multiple times.

The progress went extremely well. I have a small duplex and their estimate and their price much more within range with my budget. They arrived on time and went to work right away. They did not make a mess and the job took only about two hours as promised. They blow in 15 inches of foam insulation into my attic. Hopefully it will make a difference in my heating and cooling cost.

Purchased a Big Deal. Quick scheduling and install. Installed in less than a week from install. Kevin installed. Very friendly and experienced at installing the fans. Great experience.

The project was done very professionally!!...

It went well. I wanted to know if there were any roofing issues that needed to be addressed. He checked the shingles, gutter covers, sky light and vents. He informed me that there were no problems. He was professional and honest.

They came to provide an estimate shortly after I called. Because it was the middle of winter, they said they would need to wait until it got warmer and all of the snow melted before scheduling the repairs. I did not hear another thing from them for several months. Then one day they called and said they would be there in the next week. It took them several weeks before they came. I am not sure if the repairs will take care of the problem, but it was worth a try before ripping off and replacing the roof. The work seems to be solid.

Trela fixed our leaking roof and even the recent deluge of rain hasn't been a problem. In fact, we have given them as a referral already to a neighborhood friend who has a leaky roof. Background: We didn't have Angie's List when we hired another roofer (not Trela) to reroof our lovely 20 year old home 5 years ago when a leak suddenly developed in our kitchen. We didn't fool around. One drop of water and we bought a new roof. That work never stopped the leak. We had an unwanted "water feature" over our kitchen table when it was windy and rained. I kept a dish pan and towels handy, and prayed when we had company that I wouldn't have to use them. The other roofer responded to every call of ours, and sent out a man with a caulk gun and sometimes more shingles and we were assured that "this time" they got it right. They didn't have a clue and admitted it. They never got it fixed. The remedy: We signed up with Angie's List. We called Trela, a highly rated Angie's List contractor, who inspected our roof and made recommendations. They noted that "the valley" was done incorrectly on our bi-level home when it was reroofed. There was a gap between the siding and the shingles! No amount of caulk would fix that! The result: So far so good. It was pouring rain again as the trucks pulled away. The work was done immaculately. Not a bit of dirt was left with the skylight installation or tear off. The crew was polite and because they were English speaking, language communication was not a factor.

I sent a request for an appointment with very specific details as to what I wanted fixed: a downspout that had fallen that needed to be reinstalled and secured to my house and a loose gutter on the side of my garage, that the downspout was behind the fence, right by where it had fallen and I'd appreciate an immediate response given all the rain that was coming. The response time for a replay was well after others had replied and one other contractor said he would just need my address and give me the estimate in my mailbox (which he did all in the course of 48 hours). I emailed Trela that others would be coming to the house and providing estimates right away and to please do the same since it's difficult for me to be available during the days of the work week. I had to follow up to see where the estimate was and then was sent a FULL $5400 to replace ALL my gutters. There is nothing more annoying to me than being very specific about the request, taking the time to brief a contractor as best as possible and then clearly having them not ready a simple email. What a waste of everyone's time! Not to mention having to chase for estimates or follow up. I emailed back right away saying I only needed the estimate for the downspout that fell and was told they would send me an email with the estimate. Still waiting... If you can't make a good impression with a simple request, clearly not read a few sentences, waste your own people's time sending an estimate that I didn't even ask for and then not even follow up, then why would anyone have any confidence that you could do a better job than the competition who made it so much easier to do business with?

I called about a leaking roof. A salesman came and commented about the pitch of the roof (which they installed in 2008. They never came around to check it out. I won't give them my business again.

On time and very efficient kept work area clean and very friendly.

Went very well. Service personnel professional, knowledgeable, pleasant. Took care re carpeting, doors, etc. Very satisfied including additional request for checking gutter balance.
