Good experience. No hard sell and pressure to have work done

Although my roof was getting old I specifically wanted to fix a leak where water was getting into my house. I showed the leak to the guy who gave me the estimate (I have his name, but I'm not sharing it), and specifically stated this is the main reason I'm getting the roof done now. Work was complete everything seemed fine. About 6 days later it rained and water is still coming into my house. I called Trela and was told it's my chimney and I need to spend another $700 to $900! I think this is shady. If the estimator thought the roof would not fix the issue I should have been notified. If the laborers who installed the roof thought this might not fix the problem, I should have been notified. I contacted Trela with my complaint and gave them a week to respond. No response whatsoever - another shady interaction. If they valued me as a customer they would of at least responded to my complaint. I would not recommend this company.

Well, the work itself went well. The install of the fan, along with some electrical work to add a house power option to it, that all went very well.. The problem, which was a HUGE problem, was the Company Rep who I spoke with on the phone before i made the purchase here on ANgie's List. We have a finished "attic" on a bungalow in Berwyn. Typical Chicago Bungalow. Explained to the Rep on the phone that it is extremely hot up there, probably 15 degree difference from downstairs. House has central air but it is really of no help upstairs. I asked him if he understood what my problem was and if an attic fan would help at all. Sadly for me, I spoke to a guy who knows nothing about the product they sell or what that product might actually do for the house. Fan works fine, Kevin and his installers were GREAT. Just bought a product though that does NOTHING to alleviate the heat in our finished attic. NOTHING! If I would grade just the install and the work onsite, I would rate this Company an A. But, since Ryan had NO CLUE as to what I really needed or what might really help me I have to give this experience and Company a D... I spent $1099 and got NOTHING out of it. If Ryan would have helped me or even steered me to someone that COULD HAVE helped me maybe this whole experience would have turned out much better. For me. I was willing to spend the money and have a solution to this problem I have. Instead, I ended up, literally, throwing away over $1000.. Can't say enough about the Professional install with Kevin and his Crew, but Ryan cost me $1000 by his complete lack of knowledge and helpfulness. Feel as though I was completely mislead by Ryan. Either get someone who KNOWS what they are talking about, or tell a Customer you will inquire and call back with info. VERY, VERY disappointed overall

We had a leak in our ceiling which is probably due to a roof leak. We may need a new roof and our gutters redone b/c of water overflow. We called Saturday to have them come out and look at the problem. They called back Monday, which seemed reasonable, but they wanted $150 just to look at it. No one else asked for that. They were an outlier among the Angie's List top reviewed roofers with > 300 reviews. We took it as a sign the proposal would come in really high and didn't go any further.

Ryan was extremely available, punctual, and very professional. The guys came and did a great job. In and out early in the day with zero disruption.

Based on other Angie's List reviews, I contacted Trela on the evening of July 18. Ryan contacted me on the 19th, came to look at the work needed on the 20th and provided a bid on the 21st. We accepted the bid on the 22nd, and the work was completed on the 27th. Trela replaced the damaged wood and painted it to match the house. Some additional fascia rotting was discovered, and they repaired that also at no additional charge. The workers were friendly and communicated well with us.

They were very good, patient with answering questions, and worked the delays out with us because of the weather. They cleaned up and I would say they are the neatest roofing company I have dealt with. It was important to me that they did not damage the landscaping and there was no damage to landscape or the grass. I would use them again. They were fair all around.

Crew was great, extremely satisfied.

The did great good. He described everything. The were going to do and did it all quicker than I expected. even took pictures of there work for me.

Kevin was on time and quick and very nice.

The roofer went above and beyond with material to repair hole. The estimate for the job steamed a little high, and that was the final fee. OK , job looks well done!

They arrived as scheduled & went right to work. I was pleased with their work. I was also impressed with the quote, I felt it was very reasonable.

Excellent! The Trela employees showed up on time, proceeded promptly, professionally, and in a neat, organized manner.

She workmen were on time. They were pleasant & efficient. Ryan was did the quote was also on time & explained things thoroughly.

Great experience – Trela sent a representative to give us an estimate and the preformed the service a few days later. It could not have been more communicate.

We had Trela roofing replace our garage roof several years ago & all went well. We know what to expect – a professional job ! No problems.

Used them last year to install, similar solar fan on house, work installation time, clean, detailed, spoke English, such a good job 2x I recommend them to neighbors.

Both sales and service were professional, timely, & performed great.

The employee did not call before hard to say he was on his way nor that he was there. He just went into our backyard, climbed onto our roof and started working. This generally wouldn’t be a big deal. However our infant child was sleeping right under where he was working and was rudely awaken by loud bonging sounds. She was napping and then cried for a very long time. It would’ve been best to get a warning/ heads up so I could’ve prepared and had her nap in the basement. Then he left without warning as well. Our car was parked out front so he should’ve expected someone to be home. A call or a knock on the door would’ve been appreciated. Also- we thought they ere coming to repair work they had done earlier around our chimney .but appointing it wasn't related to that work so we recevied a large bill for work. They didn't call or ask us fot approval they just fixed us old charged us a bill. It was a shock beacause we were expecting a 0 cost since the change was exactly where they had previously worked.

I paid about $1700 or more but again, it was a pretty big damage that I had from the wind.

Their price seemed high. But you pay more for quality work. I've continued to use them for other projects.

I contacted them by phone on May 10th for a quote and was told to email the plans. I did not receive confirmation that the email was received or any acknowledgment whatsoever. I contacted them via email on May 16th to make sure they received my original email and requested an update, again no response. I called on Tuesday May 17th and was told that they did receive the email and expected to have something to me on Wednesday or Thursday (did not receive anything). Emailed again on 5/20 requesting an update and indicated that I would like to make a decision on bids. They replied that they would "elect not to bid at this time." I cannot comment on their pricing or quality of work but the customer service and communication is extremely poor.

Total job lasted less than 1 hour, nothing disturbed.

Kevin came ont promptly & gave one an estimate. The price was reasonable and the work was done 3 days later.
