Description of Work: Cahill replaced 40-yr-old electric HVAC system which was unusual because it was ceiling-mounted. Called 3 other service providers, but they weren't as familiar with the system as Cahill had replaced other units in the condo complex in Evanston. There were some scheduling delays due to family vacation and illness but overall, work was done properly and with quality. Very thorough explanation about what Cahill was doing and how the unit would function; give them high marks on communication and customer always kept informed.

Description of Work: Expensive but good and reliable. Work involved total tear-down and reconstruction of very old bathroom, everything (walls, floors, appliances, window, etc) replaced. Helpful in design. Responsive in communications. Subcontractors did quality work, well over-seen by Cahill. Clean-up after each day's work handled well. Work ran a bit later than initially scheduled, but by construction standards, pretty close to on time.

Description of Work: Cahill most recently fixed a leak in the humidifier which is apart of the furnace. They came promptly and when they said they would. I generally use them for heating and plumbing needs. However, for a recent remodeling project I used someone else because Cahill's estimate was double the the other plumber. Cahill is expensive.

Description of Work: Our basement sewer drain was backing up into the house even after repeated rodding. Cahill first put a camera into the suspected pipe through a hole they re-opened in the basement floor, as well as filming from the "clean out" opening at the front of the house. A "T" joint just outside the house had to be replaced because it had cracked allowing invasive root growth and an inability for house sewage to drain to the street. A cement sidewalk square on the side of the house had to be removed, then they dug a pit down to the pipes involved to replace them, the pit was then refilled with gravel and left to settle. Cahill does not do sidewalk replacement. They finished the job ahead of schedule and accommodated our scheduling needs. In our experience Cahill is never the low bidder but their high quality work justifies their price.

Description of Work: Our sewer line was clogged and they cleaned it out in 30 to 40 mins. They let me know what was causing the clog and how to prevent it from happening too regularly. I was most impressed with their responsiveness, I called at 4:30 pm and the we're at my house at 8:30 am and fixed it right away.

Description of Work: The work was fine. However, I was told that they would arrive between 9 AM and noon but would call first. I did receive a call at 12:20 saying they had a plumber available and did I still want him to come? It took approximately a half hour before the plumber arrived. Dave was very pleasant and wasn't bothered by my barking dogs. He did everything I asked and make some suggestions of future needs. I was happy with his work. However, my husband would have liked to be there when he came but had to leave for a luncheon engagement.

Description of Work: Used them a long time ago. They have been around for a long time. I think I bought some pump parts from them. They are a good stable established business.

Description of Work: We had a leak in the basement bathroom. The repair person that came out was extremely helpful. He fit us in as this was in the height of the winter when people had more serious problems with pipes bursting. The first visit was to shut off the water and the next day they made the repairs. Both men were very pleasant and knowledgeable. My only complaint with Cahill is they are very expensive. This was an emergency so I used someone that was local and I knnew.

Description of Work: My contact with them is on-going as I have my service contract with them. They respond to every call within minutes and have someone out ASAP (generally within a hour). The cost above was for the parts required on last call...I pay annually for a service contract. This is a huge and old house they handle all aspects of the mechanical maintenance stuff. Their work are polite, respectful, professional and always clean up after themselves.
