They did a great job! Our backyard looks lovely and our front yard (where no sod was laid) looks great too - thanks to the new mulch and special treatment given. We had some strange (to us) looking roots in the yard and I texted a picture of them to Michael. He went above and beyond to find out what was growing there and how best to handle and remove/repair the issue. He also educated me on the subject so I learned some new things about our yard. Great team of guys who got the job done faster than I'd have thought possible! They could've just tossed on the mulch and left it at that - but they got rid of the weeds present and trimmed back things our current routine lawncare company ignore and had left completely untended. They went the extra mile and our yard looks great because of it! We'd hire them in a heart beat for routine lawn service, but we aren't within their service area for that (I knew that going in and suspected it when I learned their location). Again - excellent job and excellent team!

We hired Ross and Jacks to design and redo a portion of our backyard. Michael listened to what I was looking for and always kept my budget in mind when choosing the various bushes and trees. We are very happy with the outcome. Any questions were quickly addressed and answered. The staff was knowledgable, pleasant and hard working. I strongly recommend Ross &Jacks landscaping.

Ross & Jack's came to our rescue when our lawncare company quit in the middle of the summer. They were prompt to respond to my inquiry and send me a quote. The price wasn't the cheapest but well worth the quality I received. The cost below included initial cleanup (lawn, flower beds, trimming shrubs--it was a mess), weekly mowing and weeding, plus fertilizer & weed control treatments through November. My lawn and flower beds never looked better. They convinced me to do fertilizer & weed control, which we'd never done, & by the end of the summer I was starting to see results. I will definitely hire them again next season.

Michael Spatola is an incredible person to work with. Both my wife and i were involved in the project. Michael took the time necessary to create with us the desired plan. He dealt with the village, and any and all other issues. We were able to make changes along the way with Ross & Jack's being flexible and easy to work with......can't say enough.

Ross & Jack's did a great job on our project! Michael was great to work with! He came out on time for the quote and gave us a quote in a timely manner. We are very happy with the work they completed! They did everything (which was a lot of work) in two days and made sure we were satisfied with everything before they left. I would highly recommend them and would hire them again!

Emailed Ross & Jack's for a quote. Michael responded quickly via email and phone. Received quote very promptly. For the job - price was very reasonable. Michael stopped by the house later for follow up and discussed several options and answered all questions. Gave him the go ahead for the job and later set a date for the work. Crew showed up on time, worked diligently and quickly. Only negative is they did not make the compacted pad for the shed as large as I had wanted or discussed. It ended up working out ok once the shed was installed so overall I'm happy with the job. Yard looks much better after the work was done. I will definitely ask Ross and Jack to bid on future landscaping work.

I think Mark is very difficult to communicate with. He is also defensive and doesn't get the job done.

I used them last year; it was in the spring. Their design work was really excellent. The plants are not fairing so well. They just do a better follow up with the plantings and make sure the plants are appropriate for the area that they're growing in.

I am very pleased with them. They are very responsive and have personal service. I think it's a great value getting a spring clean up. They also do some incidental additional planting or whatever I need. I am very pleased with their continued service. They have been coming out every year since the initial landscaping. I would give them "A"s across the board.

The teams did a wonderful job and we could not be happier. Michael was very courteous and professional and helped manage our project to successful completion. We were so happy we are already planning another project with them.

It went so well. it was a large and complicated job as I live on a hill. The price was reasonable, work started and completed on time and it looks like it's out of a magazine!

This is an exceptional landscape company! We would highly recommend them to anyone who is considering landscape work for their property. The general manager, Michael Spatola was very attentive to our concerns, and worked diligently to find solutions to meet our needs of privacy, shade and seasonal interest. He also provided excellent communication throughout the process. In addition, we would like to acknowledge the crew. They were polite, neat and worked very well as a team to complete the installation.

Ok. The design was ok but lacked creativity. Looked like a design that I could do on my own.

We had a pretty significant de-watering challenge. We needed to get a lot of water away from the house, keep it from getting back to the house, and of course, honor local code and ordinances. Over two phases of this project Ross & Jacks built us on a substantial French drain placed appropriately and and put landscaping over it. They used water-loving plants that are attractive and thrive in wet ground. They also re-routed outlets for downspouts so that we didn't overwhelm the french drain with gray water and roof rain water. While they weren't the cheapest -initial- bid, I'm pretty confident they're the cheapest -overall- because the project was phased in such a way that we didn't have to re-do a lot of work. Since the french drain was put in, we've had several monsoon-like rains. Our basement? Dry as a tomb. Since this job, we've moved to Ross & Jack's as our landscaper. Their crew did a bang up job on the annual spring cleanup. These guys are the varsity team.

Michael was on time, professional & very knowledgeable. I misread the deal & originally thought the 3D plan was included in the estimate offer. Michael gave me some ideas for the space. I'm considering tackling this project DIY since the estimate I was given was ended up considerably over my budget.

We could not be happier with the landscaping job recently completed at our home by Michael Spatola and his crew from Ross & Jack’s. Our wish was to inject new life into our ‘old’ landscaping by streamlining the existing plantings, and by upgrading the overall design into a more-polished and manageable look. After visiting Angie’s List, we purchased a promotion from Ross & Jack’s for a property assessment. To our surprise and delight, our email was answered within 24 hours by Michael Spatola, Ross & Jack’s General Manager. We met shortly thereafter, discussed our intentions with Michael and we received excellent suggestions on how best to achieve the look we wanted. Based on our ‘wish list’, he delivered an estimate and plan on time and as promised. We had planned to proceed with the upgrade in early spring 2017, but by the grace of good timing and extraordinary weather, Michael had two crews available to deliver beautiful results within two working days! The crews went about their work quietly and respectfully each day and cleaned up beautifully each night. Michael was always available, whether on-site, by email or by telephone for any questions that arose. He even was willing to pick up additional plants for us when we expanded one aspect of our plan on the second day of work, allowing the work to be completed, in full, within the agreed-upon time frame. After many years of tending to our plants, we are aware of how much work goes into the proper selection and placement of perennials, not to mention the considerable maintenance work involved. We felt that all the new plants were healthy and that not one aspect of the plan was shirked – there were no ‘cut corners’. The price was reasonable and Michael’s oversight was stellar. We hope that he and his crews attract the positive recognition they deserve and we ABSOLUTELY recommend them and plan to employ their services again. To the homeowners out there who are tired of being strung along by contractors who are no shows, or slow no’s, there is no game playing with this company. They are hard-working, well-intentioned and honorable! Finally, if you are a homeowner in need of help maintaining your plantings throughout the growing season, consider purchasing a seasonal maintenance agreement from Ross & Jack’s. With that, you have your regular grass cutting service (or you) do their thing, and you have Ross & Jack’s come over about 5 times from spring through fall to care for your plantings. Money well spent for a job well done!

Excellent communications & clear explanations descriptions of needed products for our site concerns to correct a drainage problem, make a pathway & privacy plantings. Excellent follow up. Concerns addressed promptly. Garden workers respectful & a pleasure to work with. Office staff prompt & courteous. Mike was our leader a great commence supervised to finish provided with decision.

They did an excellent job! I was under a time constraint and they moved me up the schedule to meet the day that I was going to list the house on the market. The workmen were very polite and dis a great job making the landscaping look perfect. Great communication. No negative surprises. Will definitely use them on my next project in the spring.

Mike was responsive and professional from start to finish. Where as other landscaping contractors simply wanted to take my order. Mike was consultative and offered some great suggestions that really improved the look and value of the finished products. Thanks to Ross & Jack's (and Mike), my modest home looks like a million bucks!

Overall a great experience with Michael and his company. Listened closely to our concerns and came up with a good solution regarding a water issue around the house - installed new gutter drains and pop ups to help facilitate large amounts of water off our roof. Also, did a great job leveling our backyard and seeding. In addition, topsoil/mulched around the house and backyard to clean it up and look very clean. Workers showed up as promised and worked very diligently to complete the project in the timeframe promised. Appreciated his concern for our budget and so-far satisfied with how it turned out.

Had spring cleanup and mulch added. They did a great job and were careful in mulch placement as to not disturb existing perennials. They cleaned up and left the job site better than before they came. Each time they do work for us, my neighbors always comment about the quality of their work compared to other services in the area. I would highly recommend them. Their prices are fair but their service is excellent.

Excellent job from estimate to completion of project. Mike Spatola was very thorough in his approach. He gave us suggestions for design layout and plant selection along with his quote. Plants were listed by name, the quantity and cost per plant. We made a few changes in plants with Michaels assistance To fit our budget and personal preferences. On the day of installation, the crew dismantled the existing stone wall, power washed the stone, laid out the new design, set a compacted stone base and then cut the stones to form a new look to the bed They leveled the entire wall with stone and fine stone. The final look was much better than what we anticipated The plants were laid out by Michael and he asked our input as well. His concern was to make us happy. He surely accomplished this The hard working crew worked methodically in getting everything done in a timely manner. They mulched the area of installation as well as the trees in the front yard and parkway. They cut the grass and edged the areas The final look made our landscape a beauty to look at and proud to be the homeowners We found Ross and Jack Landscaping through Angie's and used them for our spring cleanup and decided after multiple quotes from others to use them for the reconstruction/landscape project We highly recommend them for your landscape needs. You will not be disappointed Almost forgot their price was extremely competitive
