Michael and his crew did a fantastic job for us in June 2020 ripping out and redoing all the landscaping around the perimeter of our ranch house and redoing the landscaping around the perimeter of our large wood deck in the backyard, planting several trees in the backyard, doing a large drainage project on the east side of our house so that we no longer no longer get flooding in our basement, replaced a broken clay pipe that ran under our unilock paver driveway originally done by another company, and laid a lot of new sod. I'm just getting around to writing this review now after two years have passed. Our regular landscapers have been maintaining the landscaping and everything still looks great, and the drainage system on the east lawn is still working to keep our basement dry. Michael was on site every day of the project and our lawn was immaculate after the work was completed, which was amazing considering all of the drainage pipes, mulch, rolls of sod, decorative rocks, large flagstones, and other materials. You can’t even tell the section where they had to remove and reset pavers and everything below the driveway in order to access the broken pipe, but I know they did because I saw them begin the project one day before leaving the house and by the time I got home, the driveway was put back together. Michael was very easy to reach by phone and email and was responsive to our needs. We finally have a cohesive look and easy to maintain landscaping around our house and most importantly, a dry basement for the first time we can remember. Michael even used some extra dirt and sod to shore up one side of our driveway which had eroded over the years since we have a lot of tree cover and pine trees on that side of the lawn, which was a nice surprise. Regarding the drainage project, prior to Ross & Jacks we had spent thousands doing interior basement waterproofing and a variety of other solutions proposed by other people over the years and had pretty much given up hope, but Michael very quickly understood our issue of standing water on the east lawn and did an outstanding job solving all of the contributing issues and then getting the excess water to flow to the front ditch as it always should have.

Michael and team are fantastic. They are completely professional, have customized designs to meet your budget, and do amazing work. Our yard looks amazing every week based on their service.

Ross & Jack's wasn't the cheapest of the companies we talked to, but they were the best value after factoring in the executional excellence and professionalism.

We recently hired Ross & Jack's for a complete gut job of our front and backyard complete with major softscape and hardscape work. It was a big job and one we interviewed several Landscaping contractors for. The result completely exceeded our expectations from Day 1 all the way through project completion. Mike ran point and he and his crew really did an amazing job. Mike was very collaborative during the design process, and he was able to come up with something that aligned with our vision for what we were looking to accomplish. The bid was very fair, and Mike was very transparent with everything throughout. One of our major concerns with this type of project was responsiveness after the contract was signed. Mike exceeded our expectations in every way and was always available for all of our questions. Throughout the construction process, Mike and the crew weren't afraid to give their professional opinion on things, when necessary, which was greatly appreciated. There were no shortcuts taken during the job and the result was fantastic. There was a lot of custom work involved (specifically around the fireplace) and the level of detail that was applied was awesome. Our yard (front and back) has become the focal point of our house and has been transformed into something we can utilize year-round and have a lot of pride in. Compliments have flown in from neighbors. We have since hired Ross & Jack's to maintain our landscaping (something we weren't originally planning on) due to the quality of their work. This is a company I'd highly recommend and the scope of what they're capable of ranges all the way from simple landscaping needs all the way to very complex hardscape renovations.

We moved into a renovated home which had, previously, been a rental property for 10 years. Our home sits on a corner and the yard had been horribly neglected for many years. We interviewed several landscaping companies and selected Michael and the team from Ross & Jack's based on Michael's down-to-earth, honest approach. Michael created a beautiful landscaping design and worked collaboratively with us to match our preferences in the final design. On installation day, the team arrived right on time and completed installation in less than three hours - spanning two full sides of our corner lot. Everything looked impeccable and beautiful. We also engaged Michael and the Ross & Jack's team to perform monthly landscaping maintenance from Spring through late Fall clean-up. The team freshened mulch, cleaned all edges, removed weeds, fallen leaves, etc. and consistently leaves our yard looking immaculate and beautiful. The Ross & Jack's team was slightly more expensive compared to other companies we interviewed, but the quality of their work is exceptional. We've received LOTS of compliments on our yard. One final note - the Ross & Jack's team is highly professional and we is always easy to reach by phone, email, or text. Their business operation is efficient and professional and we've genuinely enjoyed working with them.

I have contracted with Ross and Jack’s Landscaping on four separate occasions. We worked with them to install a UniLock paver patio, re-design of the back yard landscape, install stonework for a wood crib and a complete re-design of the front yard landscaping including new stone work. My wife and I are very satisfied with projects, excellent designs and implementation. In each instance they were professional, easy to engage and work with, on time and best of all on budget. My go to company for landscaping work in Elmhurst.

We've hired Ross and Jacks multiple times in the past and they have always performed exceptional work. We will continue to use them well into the future. They are extremely responsive and have always been very reliable in meeting the work completion dates that they set. In terms of price, they tend to be a bit higher than average but you definitely get a lot of value for what you pay for. Additionally, they have always been very fair and helpful when trying to adhere to a specific budget. When they landscaped our side yard last year, they worked with us to find more budget friendly plant options which made our yard look stunning. Mike Spatola, their GM and Landscape Designer, is very easy going and has been a pleasure to work with. Highly recommend.

Michael and his team are fantastic. Extremely professional and the work is high quality. Michael (the GM) evaluated my yard in Elmhurst with me a few times and was extremely knowledgeable and easy to work with. This is a well run business and Mark (the owner) takes pride in it being the best. I'm very pleased with the experience and outcome and will definitely be using Ross & Jack going forward for all lawn needs.

These guys are great. Creative in their design and really care about their execution. The weekly lawn crew are super nice and professional as well. Somewhat on the pricey side, but I’m a believer in value for the money and getting what you pay for, and R&J give both high value and quality in return for the price.

Design went very well, Michael made some great suggestions that added to the looks and functionality of the patio when done. Construction was quick as can be expected, high quality and exceeded our expectations. We would definitely hire them again.

We are so pleased with Ross and Jack's Landscaping! They have done several projects for us, including completely transforming our shaded, muddy backyard into a beautiful planted area with a firepit, walkway and unique dry river bed. Most recently Ross and Jack's renovated our front yard including the retaining wall, front porch steps, and front walkway, as well as beautiful plants. It looks amazing! Michael is wonderful to work with and provides great design ideas. He communicated throughout our projects about timing and the jobs were finished promptly. Ross & Jack's did a fantastic job extending our exiting front porch and adding natural stones to the porch and new landscapes. They were responsive, professional and punctual. After giving us an initial estimates, they listened to our ideas and revised estimates promptly every time. The work was done quickly and now our front porch looks beautiful. We receive complements all the time. We would hire them again for any future hardscape and landscape needs.

Michael went above and beyond the entire project. Not only was he clearly an expert, he also gave me tips for ensuring the installation of my pool went smoothly, and asked a friend to help me with our retention wall. He was able to fit us into their busy schedule when we were in an bind and was always willing to stop by the house to check on progress. We couldn’t be happier with Ross & Jack’s. We moved into a home that had a neglected backyard. Michael came out and had a quick vision for the space. He and his crew were amazing. They did a ton of work in a short amount of time, and transformed our backyard. They replaced our front lawn with sod and we get compliments on it daily. I hired Ross & Jack's to completely redo our landscaping including the front and backyard. From the time they came to do the inspection and provide ideas on areas for improvement, I could tell that they were extremely knowledgeable and competent. I have been extremely happy with the work that they've done, and have even retained their services for lawn maintenance / upkeep throughout the year. Well worth the money. This was the first patio project we have worked on. We talked with a few different contractors, but Michael Spatola was the first to come out and meet with us. We explained the general concept and what features we would like to see incorporated into the design as well as creating some privacy from neighbors. We arrived fairly quickly at a design we felt worked well within the budget we provided. Also, we felt it was a reasonable timeframe to get a crew out to start the install. Overall, the project moved very quickly from the point they started. We had people onsite everyday and they weren't diverted to other projects. The crew was very conscious of our neighbors and tried to keep noise and the disturbance at a minimum. The final product exceeded our expectations. We receive compliments from everyone that has visited. I would recommend working with them to anyone interested in a backyard project.

We are very pleased with the stormwater management system that R&J installed in our yard. Our yard had been a soupy mess after a heavy rain with standing water up to a week and we were unable to grow decent ground cover. Their work has eliminated standing water and has allowed us to retain some water underground for irrigation. They've also landscaped our backyard and perform routine maintenance/lawn treatment. They have always been very responsive to questions/issues and I intend to use them for additional work in the near future.

Our first project with Ross & Jack's was a front yard upgrade!! I met with Michael on site, detailed everything I was thinking and he gave me better ideas and options than what I was originally even thinking! The outcome was impressive to say the least! Trees, Shrubs, Perennials, Mulch & Stone accents! Our second project, new house, new location is getting ready to be started in the Spring. Michael, once again, met with me at our newest property, talked through MANY ideas & options as this will be an all-over exterior upgrade and sent me a quote within a few days breaking down every cost of each step along the process, as this will be a big one... grading of property, drainage install, patio plan, trees, shrubs, perennials and stone accents again also! EXTREMELY excited to work with them again... Everything they do adds value to the property!
