Mark is very prompt in returning phone calls or emails. He explains his suggestions and provides options. His teams do a great job and always clean up before they leave. I would highly recommend Ross and Jack's Landscaping.

Mark is a highly motivated person who likes to get his hands dirty along with his crews. Our yard and plantings were well taken care of and looked splendid the entire season. Mark was very responsive if we felt there was a problem or if we required additional work If his crews got careless he was all over them to shape up and they did so. They are a bit pricey, but in their favor the work they do is normally high quality - and their rates have remained the same for several years now. I intend to use Ross and Jack's again this year and know I will look forward to another beautiful yard this summer. Note that the approximate cost above was for a full season worth of services and the approximate date is the last service of the season.

Ross and Jack is a great company. They took the time to walk us through the design process and delivered within the deadline we gave them to complete the overhaul of our backyard. The also did the maintenance afterwards. They are not the cheapest, however we didn't mind that much since they task really good care of their crew. And the crew took good care of us. We will use them again in the future

R&J were surprised that Angie's list had highlighted their business since they were winding down the marketing campaign for the year (too much business!). Despite that, they agreed to send someone to inspect the property and provide an estimate for the projects I had in mind. The estimator (one of the owners?) arrived at the appointed time and went around the property to measure and get an idea about the project. After a couple days, I received a fairly detailed labor+materials estimates with clear description of deliverable running into $10000+. I had indicated that I'd like a materials/labor split to get an idea about the costs involved but R&J politely declined to provide the cost breakdown - the owner admitted that they may not be the cheapest in the business but their quality justifies the high price. I really wanted to hire them and customize the projects (get some done now, reduce the scope of others etc) but I couldn't get past their refusal to at least give me an idea about their labor rates. Also, they were using simple brussels pavers for the patio and I was expecting premium materials to be used based on their quote. Overall, they were professional in their dealings but I just wish they were a bit more forthcoming. I guess you can afford to be inflexible when you have plenty of work lined up.

They are reliable, efficient and they get in and out in a hurry. They do a good job. There is always someone with the crew who speaks English. You can always call the office and leave a message with them. The person who recommended the foundation plantings was well qualified. However, they were not successful in removing the weeds in my back yard.

When I say professional, I mean they came out on time and even when the project was completed, the owner of the company came out and we spoke and he made sure everything was okay. He looked at the project and the work. It was great to see that the owner came out and he actually looked at it and approved every project so that was nice. I'm gonna use them again for my spring clean-up.

I was looking for a cost effective way to restore my lawn/ landscaping after removing an above ground pool. The consultant gave me an estimate for completing my ideas plus adding a few shrubs. I purchased the $49 service looking for their ideas, not mine. I felt as if this was not a project they were interested in doing, so they gave me an outrageous price so I wouldn't go ahead with it. They might be good at larger more creative projects, unfortunately I don't have the budget for that right now. This experience will make hesitant to purchase anymore Angie's List deals again.

The front of my townhouse has been an issue for me for quite a while. 1) The dirt around my stoop kept draining away, and I was constantly having it filled....putting sod, etc. 2) I didn't like the buses against the building...I couldn't get to the water spigot! 3) a strip of my front yard is actually part of my next door neighbor's land. Michael from Ross & Jack's came out and designed a retaining wall, which levelled out my stoop, created a little walkway (that's hidden from street view) and it stopped at the neighbor's bldg. Now I have this great looking front yard (the brick retaining wall looks fab!) ... and I can't wait until Spring to see how everything really grows in. Michael was great...answered all my crazy questions...and I would use them again, and recommend them to anyone. Quality job all the way around.

Ross and Jacks are probably not the cheapest service around, but they're awesome to work with. We love how they maintain our yard, and how responsive they are with helping us improve it. They're great people to work with and they do a beautiful job. They're always around if you need something, and if they can't do the work, they will refer someone who can. If there is a big job being done, there is always someone supervising, and you can tell they take pride in doing a good job for their customers. I would definitely recommend them.

They are very punctual. The people that are actually doing the cutting and the actual labor are wonderful. They worked hard, quickly, very polite and they know what they're doing. Ross & Jack's are very good. I would recommend them to anybody. There is nothing wrong with them. I've never had a complaint about them. They're very punctual. Their prices are reasonable and they go above and beyond what normal landscapers don't do. They're wonderful. They're nothing bad to say about them. I just told them, "I want you to take care of my lawn, my bushes." They do and it looks fantastic. If you drive by here, you can tell a major difference between our place and anybody else is. I've had them for like 8 years now and I have no intention of leaving them.

So we got rapid response, attentiveness to detail, superior work and more done than we ever expected. Absolutely will use this company again.

Ross & Jack's are very prompt. They were at my house within hours of calling to talk about what I wanted done & by the end of the day I had an estimate emailed to me. I called a few other companies and after receiving bad, or no service, from them I decided to use Ross & Jack's. The estimate ($2,303) was higher then I had budgeted for ($2,000), but they had a coupon that brought it down a little ($2,103). I asked if there was any way to do it for $2,000, but they said the price with the coupon was fair. And it was, so I decided to use them. Less then two weeks after signing the estimate & paying the deposit, they were at my house & had the work done in a few hours. The landscaping looks a lo better then it did. They took the time to explain to me how to care for the new bushes & shrubs. I think they could have a better job cleaning out the plant beds though. I had a lot of weeds in them and a couple days after the work was done I already had some popping up through the mulch which I don't think should of happened that soon. Overall they were quick, reasonably priced & did a good job. Would use them again in the future.

Service was wonderful. Quick to estimate, responsive by phone and email. Great work and TOTAL clean-up. We plan to call them again in the spring.

Everything went really well. We are very pleased with all the work done and have had several compliments from our neighbors. Our project took 3 days to complete. Mike and/or his team arrived at the time Mike promised; they worked with only a short lunch break. All bushes and plants that they took out were carted away. Mike even divided some hostas and replanted them in a new planting bed (which was not part of the job). At the end of the project they cleaned up including using a blower to get rid of the stone dust from cutting the stone drywall. Thanks Mike. I'll be sure to contact Ross & Jack's Landscaping when more landscaping is wanted.

We knew it was going to be a big job but it turned out to be very very challenging as the previous owner had installed the feature using an excessive amount of concrete as well as treating the concrete/mortar with a hardener as well. Mike was great at explaining the situation as it played out and keeping us updated. He personally was on site the entire time and when special equipment had to be brought in to deal with the challenging nature of the project, he personally took control and made sure they got what they needed on site as quickly as possible. What could have easily dragged on for 3-4 days was completed in under two thanks to Mike's tenacity and determination to finish as quickly as possible and help avoid additional expenses. Projects with hidden (and potentially costly) surprises are never fun, but Mike did everything he could (and then some) to keep as close to his estimate as possible. We plan to use Ross & Jack's for future landscaping projects and would highly recommend Mike and his crew.

It went very well. They did a nice plan with computer images showing what the final design would look like. The actual work was fas and well done. One bush did die, but as promised they replaced it with a new one that was very much alive. The grass came in exceptionally well - didn't need any sod. The new grass is just as thick as the existing lawn now.

Michael was there on-time and was extremely thoughtful in providing feedback/suggestions. He took into consideration our primary needs and taste and then offered reasonable solutions, in a phased approach that addressed those needs/taste. He was timely in providing a detailed estimate for a piece of work and also a maintenance plan. Michael was very prompt in answering follow up questions regarding the estimate.

Seemed to have a lot of knowledge on site, and did give us some great advice on why we shouldn't put up a retaining wall right now along the patio (existing concrete patio is rotting out from underneath, and will have to be replaced in 5-7 years). A lot of places would have just done it anyway to get the money, so I really appreciate his honesty. Honesty in a contractor goes a long way and I would recommend contacting him based on that alone. His estimate was inline with the other 2 companies we contacted. Wound up not using this company because A) took two and a half weeks to get an estimate back, and B) the estimate included things that I specifically said I did not want to do, was missing other things we talked about, and also included the retaining wall that he advised against. Based on that, it did not give me confidence that the details would be taken care of.

This outfit was scheduled to be at our house at 9:00 in the morning and actually got here at 8:00. The manager, Michael, advised me that the job would take the better part of the whole day to complete. They were actually done by Noon and everything was done to my satisfaction. I was really impressed by the fact that Michael agreed to include the mowing of our entire yard and do the weeding included in our price. He said that if there was any problems/questions, let him know. I can see why they got the super service award a couple of years ago.

It went very well and we're very pleased with the work they performed. They're professional and communication was very good throughout the process so no complaints at all.

Scheduling was an issue; but the weather had been pretty rainy so it was difficult it that respect as well as time from them. As soon as we got our date scheduled, they were out promptly. The salesman that came out was nice and informative, but didn't feel that getting a quote for services was worth $49. All our quotes in the past were free. Did not end up using them for landscaping; was our first quote and ended up having to put the project on hold.

I liked that he was very knowledgeable in the business and the different vegetation. He had some good ideas to make the property look better. The price seemed reasonable.

It was good but I ended up going with someone else. They got the estimate back to me within a couple of days.
