Michael surpassed our expectations on every level! He absolutely transformed our landscape in our 50 year old home. After he came to look at my project and told me his vision, I decided not contact anyone else. He obviously has a passion for what he does and he is a "hands on" guy. He explained everything in detail and kept within our budget. He went above and beyond his quote. They were prompt, extremely hard working and efficient. When the job was completed, everything was left in immaculate condition His crew has been with the company for a long time, which speaks highly of his management. I found Ross and Jack's Landscaping excellent to work with. The work was well coordinated and the landscape workers worked extremely hard and did an excellent job. Communication by Ross and Jack's was excellent during the proposal process and while the work was being completed. I would definitely use them again.

This was the first time using Ross and Jack's Landscaping. They are very easy to work with and Michael is very nice. I came home from work to a beautiful cleaned up yard and no mess left behind! I'm excited to see how everything looks when the season is in full bloom! Everything we needed done was completed. I plan on using them again in the future. I would recommend giving them a call!

Receved call from Mark that crew was on the way and that he would be here to do a walk thru to show the crew what needed to be done The 3 man crew did an excellent job from start to final cleanup. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a quality job

Excellent service. We bought a package from Angie's List for fall cleanup and ended up buying more services. Well worth it, excellent job.

They did a great job for us. Michael was excellent to deal with - very responsive and helpful. He gave us his informed opinion based on what we were asking for, and we really felt like we could trust him. There were a few small areas of miscommunication, but would definitely do business with them again.

The work was performed professionally and in accordance with the pre-established budget. Mike, the job manager, was ever present for the duration of the project, answered all questions, and addressed all concerns. It was a pleasure to work with him.

Mike worked with me through every question and concern that I had and was able to match my budget, provide me with a beautiful outcome and solve the drainage issues I had on the front of my house. He really cares about the finished product and went above and beyond to make sure it not only met my expectations but met his expectations. We plan to work with Ross and Jack's again in the spring for landscaping in our backyard. The work on the downspout was genius (we had an ugly pvc pipe sticking out of the ground previously and now everything is beneath the grass with a covered discharge pipe. Love it!. I would recommend them to everyone!

Mike was great from start to finish. He did a very professional estimate with drawings of his ideas and was completely flexible as the project was completed over a 2 week period. This was a house in foreclosure that had no yard maintenance for 10+ years. Mike and his crew cleared out the over growth and basically remodeled the entire property from the paver patio to drainage to new grass, plantings etc. Friends and family that saw the 'before' of our backyard still cannot believe it is the same back yard. (Even the city inspector said it was one of the nicest jobs he's seen in a while!) When the work was done we had an extremely heavy rain and had puddles by two of the seating walls. We e-mailed Mike and someone came out the next day and fixed the problem. Beyond that, we have had zero issues with the pavers, drainage, etc. Truly professional top-notch company! We purchased our new construction home late in 2014 and spent the subsequent several months researching reputable companies in Chicagoland for what we expected would be a significant landscaping project. All of the areas in which we needed work done were visible to street traffic and pedestrians, so great design and execution were extremely important to us. We vetted several companies found on Angie's List as well as a few recommended by neighbors, and Ross & Jack's came out a cut above in terms of their ratings by members, responsiveness, attention to detail, and willingness to listen. Michael was intimately involved in the project from the initial interview until the last plant was in, and his help in coordinating the permitting process was indispensable. When the permits were finally issued, he was very accommodating in working our project in as quickly as possible. Once work began, Ross & Jack's removed a tremendous amount of old shrubs and plants and managed to do so without tearing up the yard in the process. They were very considerate of our unplanned-for requests to salvage some of the old plants for use on parts of the property that were not originally part of the plan. Michael was tremendous in soliciting feedback on his designs for the stone walkway and went out of his way to make sure the stone used was a perfect match to our home's foundation. I was blown away by the quality of the plants and stone Ross & Jack's brought to the project, and I am happy to say we have not lost a single plant despite our week of installation coinciding with the absolute hottest week of the year. We are fortunate to live in an open and friendly neighborhood, and there has been no shortage of compliments thrown our way since the project wrapped up. I will and have recommended Ross & Jack's to all those who have asked (as well as a few who haven't), and I have no reservations doing the same to fellow Angie's List members. Should you decide to work with Ross & Jack's, there is no doubt in my mind you will be totally satisfied with the outcome.

The general manager Mike, was very professional and knowledgeable. He came out to quote and explained what his guys would come and do and promised they would make the outside of my house look fantastic. They did just that. His workers were one day earlier than expected which was perfect since I had a gathering on a Saturday afternoon so they started on Thursday instead of Friday. I didn't get in their way and they knew what had to be done and it was completed sooner than expected. I would use them for my weekly maintenance but they are outside of my zone. Overall I couldn't have asked for a better experience with Ross and Jack's.

I originally contacted Mike after reading great reviews on Angie's. He was extremely responsive and professional. He was honest in saying it wasn't that hard of a job and if we did want to do it ourselves, give me detailed instructions over the phone on exactly what to do. Considering at that point we wouldn't even have to work with him and his willingness to go over all of this in detail with me was WAY above and beyond. After talking to my husband we did decide we just wanted his guys to do it, even though it was a small job. His guys were VERY fast and thorough. They completed the job with ease and professionalism that in NO way we could have done as well ourselves. Within days we had grass growing in and it looks beautiful. Absolutely looking forward to working with them again in the future!

Ross & Jack's didn't return my voicemail left on 6/26. I didn't give them an F because I didn't try contacting them a second time but also don't think I should need to. I was ready to hire them based on the reviews alone, too bad it didn't work out.

Due to how much rain we have had in June and July, planting jobs were delayed. I was having a party on July 18th and Michael went out of his way to make sure my job was completed on July 18th and ALL looked beautiful for my party!!! I have 3 more small area landscape projects to complete next spring and I look forward to working with Michael and Ross & Jack's landscaping again.

i removed an above ground pool in the backyard so i had a large dirt circle. the guys came out and added 2 dumps of soil and put down new sod. great job, it looks great. they did it all in one day, cleaned up everything . the crew were all good guys and mike the supervisor was great too. i would definatly hire them again and i would recommend them for sure.

We're very pleased with the work done at your house by Ross and Jack's Landscaping. From the initial communication, everything was spot on. Mike helped us with choosing the right plants for our front yard and he made great choices. Mike set the expectation that the work might take awhile to get done due to the high number of jobs they were working but they were able to get things done even sooner than he promised. The entire crew was extremely professional and the work was done very quickly. Everything was cleaned up perfectly once the work was done and Mike gave us very detailed instructions on how to care for our new plants. Overall, the service couldn't have gone any better and we've already recommended Ross and Jack's to others. We look forward to working with Mike and crew again in the future! Thank you again!

General manager Michael gave us a detailed estimate. The estimate provided us with which shrubs, trees and plants to be used. They came last week and the end product was exactly what we expected. The crew was efficient and friendlly. We are anxious use their services again.

He is very nice. The quote was a good quote and he was very informative. I am sure I would like to use him in the future.

My husband and I were looking to have some landscaping done when we looked on Angie's list and found Ross and Jack's. We liked what we read on Angie's List so we hit the "Contact Us' button on the website and filled out the form with our contact information. Five minutes later Mark Seraphin called us. From our first contact with Mark when he came to our house until the time when the job was completed we were so pleased with their professionalism. After looking over our property, Mark suggested that we set up an appointment with the General Manager, Mike Spatola. We called Mike and set up the appointment which was immediately confirmed via email along with an email appointment reminder. He drew up landscaping plans and had them to us very quickly. Any time a change was made to the plans the contract was amended and email back to us promptly. We only had a few items we wanted tweaked and he did just as we asked. If there was a reason why a particular plant should not be in a specific location he let us know. From the beginning Mike told us his goal was for us to be happy. They re-purposed many of the plants we already had. He was very helpful--it was quite obvious that he has a lot of experience and knowledge. Mike's crew (Francisco, Rogelio, Aurelio and Emilio) were very hard working. Other than their brief lunch break, they were constantly working--we never saw them just standing around or talking. They were respectful and did a great job with the planting and cleaning up. When they were done, any bald patches of grass were filled in, the lawn was cut, trimmed and edged. Michael is the best. He goes out of the way to make sure the job is always done to its best. This is our second time hiring Michael and his crew at Ross & Jacks and we plan to use them again next season for another project. I can't recommend them enough.

AWESOME! There are no words adequate to describe how pleasant the entire experience was with Michael S. of "Ross & Jacks Landscaping". Several bushes needed to be removed, some transplanted and even more purchased and inserted. It had been years since edging or major trimming, and this was done to perfection. Michael even completed this job in a short time frame knowing we had out-of-town guests arriving. The workers were extremely professional and courteous. Thank you, so much, Michael, for listening, for providing wonderful plants, and for demonstrating a truly professional work ethic. You will definitely be our "go-to" guy for any and all future landscaping projects.

We primarily were interested in yard maintenance, and described that in our initial purchase. We thought with a consultation that someone would come out, look at the yard, and make recommendations so that we could decide what services we wanted to purchase. The return calls came promptly; however, when I described what we were looking for, the first caller basically told me he did construction and that he'd have to check with the person in charge of maintenance. The person in charge of maintenance called the next day and started by stating that they didn't service our area. When I stated that the package clearly included our area, his explanation morphed into that they only serviced the area north of Army Trail Rd. When I questioned that (as areas south of us were also included), the explanation was that the construction crew went to more areas than the maintenance crew. Finally, what was said was that "even if we were across the road from someone who used R&J services, they wouldn't be able to fit us in." They also stated that "it was commonly known" that a maintenance evaluation was always free -- although that is not stated anywhere in their ad on Angie's List. I'm sure they do a fine job, providing they're interested in doing any work for you. (Note: I did inform them that I would post a review to Angie's List and that they would get an opportunity to comment on it.)

This is a fantastic company to do business with. They have done two landscape designs and installations for us, fall clean-up and spring clean-up. They are easy to work with, honest, innovative, and a please to work with. They do what they say they will do and do it when they say they will do it. I will continue to do business with them!
