Description of Work: Replaced flush handle on toilet and replaced a long-stem Chicago cartridge on bathroom sink. Everything went fine except that the flush handle was plastic not metal and they had to make a 2nd trip because the didn't have the older style cartridge to fit the sink. No extra charge but another appt had to be scheduled.

Description of Work: There was a leak at the kitchen faucet. They found it needed replacing, so I bought a new one a few days later and had J & S come back to install it. They applied the original $98 charge from the first call toward the new call charge, and then only charged $29 for the faucet installation. Remarkable!

Description of Work: J&S completed two jobs. The first major job was to replace the drain pipe from just outside my house to the city sewer (replaced 9 feet of pipe)and install an outside access pipe. Gasper and team did an excellant job, city inspector told me they did a top notch job, and you can barely tell that they dug up yard (expect some missing brushed & walk way). I expected the yard would be messy afterwards and they left it very neat. The cost was exectly what they said it would be upfront, while another company quoted additional unknown costs and additional fees. | |Another crew came to replace the closet collar and reseated my tiolet and replaced the handle. They also removed calcium deposits from another tiolet for no addtional costs. | |I believe I finally found a plumber I can trust.

Description of Work: They installed 2 new water-saving toilets and removed the packing boxes and old toilets, too. At the last minute, I discovered that the toilets came with everything EXCEPT toilets seats, and Mark went to the shop and brought back 2 new ones. | |Mark was very gregarious and helpful in explaining that we could get more water to flow if we held the handle down. Sal was upstairs, so I didn't get to talk to him much. | |Both men were very professional and efficient.

Description of Work: We had a leak from our 2nd fl to 1st fl bathroom. We never saw any moisture or visible water around our 2nd fl toilet or tub. The plumbers pulled up the toilet & the was ring was worn out. We have been living here for 19 yrs & that was the original toilet. We had intentions on getting a new toilet but never came around to it. My husband decided to have them install a new one. This price also included a brand new toilet. We are satisfied.

Description of Work: They rodded out our sewer line. We called the night before at 10:30 PM and to our surprise a real live person answered the phone. A technician called us back 5 minutes later and we set up an appointment for the next morning...but they offered to come that night. They arrived within the time frame that had been set up. They cleaned out the line and cleaned up any mess. My husband was very pleased with everything about this experience. We will definitely use them again.

Description of Work: backed up toilet on a weekend. My ex-regular plumber didn't call back, another popular Angie's list plumber is booked for the next two weeks. J&S had a real person answer the phone, give me an approximate arrival time. The plumber (Pauly) knew what he was doing and cleaned things out from the garage access instead of basement, and I learned something to help me the next time. Plus, the Angie's list discount paid for this year's membership!

Description of Work: Water pipe froze and blew out, flooding lower level of townhome. They removed and replaced damaged pipe section after cutting out dry wall to get acess

Description of Work: Second floor bathroom was leaking through to first floor. Ended up simply being a loose connection on the toilet. Plumber suggested replacing old shutnoff valve. He told us the cost would simply be that of a house call. Decided to have the shut off valve replaced since we were already going to be paying for a house call. Very disappointed to find out after the work was done that the price was double that of a house call.

Description of Work: My sump pump quit working during a very heavy rain. I called J & S, and got a return call within 10 minutes, the service man was here in about an hour. He fixed it in a few minutes and apologized for having to charge me for a service call since it was such a quick and simple fix! The pump has been fine ever since.
