While fixing the leak, they moved the pipe enough to cause a second leak at the p-trap of the shower, and then charged me extra for fixing what the leak that they caused. I might have accepted that (the pipes are probably old, so that might not be their fault) but when they replaced the trap, it extended below where the drywall will need to be. To illustrate this, I showed them that the undamaged drywall piece they cutaway could not be put back flush. They insisted the piece they replaced was the same size, but obviously if it was they installed it differently because you could not replace the drywall. They insisted the only thing I can do is to shave off the drywall with a vegetable peeler to make it thinner when replacing it.

Felt pressured to spend additional money with them that possibly could have been avoided - turned out sump pump was working, but as it was older, pressured to replace with them. After every logical presentation, there was an additional angle presented to influence spending. Felt rushed

I was told I needed all new parts inside the toilet. The former owner of my condo was a do-it-yourselfer and installed the flapper improperly. The two gentlemen who did the repairs were great and I am completely satisfied with the repair. I thought the charge was a little high as I probably could have bought a new toilet for the price of the repair. But overall, I'm completely satisfied.

Although they couldn't do the work on the day I had scheduled, they did an excellent job and managed all issues they came across. I will be calling them for future work!

Excellent, from start to finish the plumbing crew lead by Daniel Cortez was phenomenal. They even had the foresight to bring the plumber (also very knowledgeable) who rodded my toilet and warned me of a future issue 3 years ago. Daniel was straightforward, precise, and made it a priority to get the toilet and shower usable so my tenant would not be inconvenienced. Another important note is that Daniel took the time to locate the sewage pipe precisely and avoid the gas line which was mismarked by the utility locating company. The crew really worked hard-even in the rain to get the pipe repaired. I will be using them for my future plumbing needs.

First, they replaced a water heater in my home. J&S came out on a Sunday and charged me the regular rate. I don't blame other companies for charging a premium on weekends, but when they do not....that's remarkable. The plumbers were great and did a nice job. The second time, we had a leak in one of our rental units. They came out same day and analyzed the problem. The guys were extremely professional and gave us great advice. I think they are honest.....thank you!

Essentially, we paid twice for work done 12/21 & 12/22/2016. On 12/21, we paid $189.00 to have a washer drain problem fixed. The technician said he didn't have a 25 foot auger/rod to completely rod the pipe out plus he couldn't get the auger he had past the T in the crawl space. A technician would have have to come out and cut a hole in the T and then rod it out. This visit cost $170. The next day when my wife was home a technician came out and simply augered the pipe out thru the kitchen sink...he didn't have to drill into the T in the crawl space but, unlike the first technician, he did have a 25 foot auger. He charged my wife $189.00. My point is, if the 2nd technician with a 25 foot auger had arrived at our house first, we wouldn't have needed another visit. On Jan 30, after Christmas & New Years festivities were out of the way, I called J & S for a refund , talking with Operations Manager Kaz. He said the refund had to go thru a couple of people but it would be done in a couple of weeks. BUT NO REFUND APPEARED May 4...I called again, the lady who answered the phone said KAZ would get back to me. May 5...John, who said he was "J" of "J & S", called, talked with my wife, and said Kaz would get back to me since he knew about the situation and also told my wife, "We won't forget you." KAZ DIDN'T CALL BACK May 12..I called office again. Kaz answered the phone saying he hadn't had a chance to get back to me. I should be receiving a refund by the end of next week ALL OF MAY PASSED WITH NO REFUND June 1. Since we hadn't received a refund, I called again and talked with "Irena" who said Kaz was on vacation and John was out of the office. She would leave my message on Kaz's desk. I DIDN'T HEAR FROM KAZ June 15...I called and Ed answered the phone who said he didn't know of my situation but he would look into it. ED DIDN'T CALL BACK July 11. I called and got Ed again. He had no recollection of our first conversation but would look into the situation and get back to me. AS OF TODAY, SEPTEMBER 1, HE HASN'T!

From the time I called to the time they left everything went so smoothly! I called at 7:00pm and she said she would have someone over the same night. They arrived at 8:30 and fixed the toilet. Saul and Rodrigo were very courteous and helpful. I will definitely use them again! Thank you so much.

I called J & S because I had used them previously for a large job(busted pipes). I was absolutely sticker shocked by the cost. $500.00 for less than 2 hours. I couldn't even respond when I talked to the plumber. First, he told me between $450 and $500, and it ended up being $500.00 The plumber told me I would receive an invoice and pictures which I have yet to receive a week later. I tried to send an email through Angie's List to them, but was given a generic email back. I tried to email a different address that I had, but I received no response. I called the office today to ask more about pricing, and I was told that it is "per job." I want to also mention that when I talked to the plumber, I had to ask him about the price. I could not be there for the "job" as I live out of state. When I receive his invoice pictures, I will add what else he did on the job besides tear out some of the bathroom ceiling, and try to find a leak. As I told the man on the phone today, I will never hire them again.

They had to do quite a bit of work to get to the source of the leak. They had to fix it from above which is quite difficult. They went through all kinds of lengths to get the thing repaired, it is repaired. I was very impressed.

They were superb. I had an appointment for 6:00 at night, no extra charge for coming at night, by 10:00 I had canceled because they never showed. I called them at 7:00, 8:00, 9:00 & 9:30, they always said. “he’s on the way, he’s on the way, he’s on the way.” So, I didn’t have a good time the first time, so I rescheduled for 11:00 am the next day. They showed up, they were very polite, they were very punctual, very professional and I liked them, and I will hire them again.

Replacement took a little over an hour. Plumber had some trouble removing the old faucet initially. Ended up having to cut the faucet with a saw. After that, installation of new faucet was fast and smooth. Satisfied with the work that was done and would hire again.

They came in and fixed the pipe and put a new pipe leading through the basement wall. They also replaced the faucet. They did it promptly and quickly. They cleaned up the water that leaked inside the house.

The method, helped, but toilet still runs, so I am wondering if there was anything else which could have been done.

They exceeded my expectations in every way and provided excellent and responsive customer service from start to finish. They provided me a quote over the phone which many plumbing companies won't do. They even provide free in-home estimates. They sent someone out on a Sunday for no additional charge and Matt was absolutely wonderful to work with. He was friendly and personable and thoroughly answered all my questions. He was obviously very knowledgeable about his field and you could tell he enjoyed his work and took pride in doing a great job. I couldn't have asked for a better plumbing experience and will definitely call them again in the future when the need arises.

They did some investigating to see how involved the fix would be, trying the least invasive first. No water coming from the faucet valve. Next Paul had to crawl into our very shallow crawl space to see if he could spot where the water was coming from. He determined it was a pipe behind the wall. After he asked if he should proceed, he made a small hole in the wall. He still could not see the source of the leak. Checking with me again before he continued, he made a larger hole and determined the leak was coming from under the floor where the floor meets the wall. He told me the "bad news" since we just had a hardwood floating floor installed. I told him to continue. The leak needed to be fixed. He cut as little of the floor as necessary to get to the leak. The culprit was a floor screw that had punctured the pipe. He repaired the pipe and gave me some ideas as to how the floor could be fixed with the least amount of work. Greg and Paul were very courteous the entire time they were here. They were honest and had great integrity. I now have no worries about who to call for any further plumbing needs. I will call J&S Plumbing and ask for Paul and Greg. I have full confidence that my plumbing needs will be done well at the lowest cost possible. I will definitely recommend J&S Plumbing to all of my friends and family.

It took several times for them to get it right. The work now is fine. But up until that point I'd have to give them a "C". They did respond in a timely manner. Possibly would use them again.

J&S came out for the 3rd time because of a leaking problem and Brian was very knowledgeable in the problem. Explained it and fixed the problem. Hopefully there will be no more issues. Very pleased with the charge on the call. Spent a lot of time here. Very professional.

Very fast response time, 24 hour service. Great in an emergency.

I wasn't too happy with the plumber. My toilet wasn't flushing, and they sent someone out right away. It probably was my misunderstanding of how they had written it in the book and how they talked to me. They said it would be $98 for them to come out and take a look at what was wrong with the toilet. The guy came out, the plumber. He went in. I kind of knew some what the problem was with it, the flapper thing wasn't going up and down. I don't know much about stuff. So, he went in, and he flushed it a couple of times, and came out and said that can't be fixed. He said, however, I can bring you a new toilet, it would've been a Saturday. He said we could bring it out for you and work on it Saturday. I said how much would that cost? He said well, let's say $300, he wrote it out. I said my husbands out of town, I'm going to try to call him and see what he says. So, he said okay, let me know. He said I need the $98 for him for coming out now. He said if you get the toilet we would deduct it from the bill. I shouldn't have paid him; I didn't know how bad he was cheating me because he was cheating me. So, I called the local hardware store here. If I needed my toilet taken care of, do you have someone here hanging out at the local hardware store? So, he gave me the name, and I had used him three years before that. He's an independent worker. He came out and looked at it. He said why can't they fix this? You can buy the whole inside of the tank you don't have to take the toilet out. I said I didn't know, my husband told me that too, but he's in Pittsburgh and I'm here. So, he fixed it. It took him 15 minutes, and he charged me $48. That ticked me off. I was really upset that I was going to have to spend $350.

It went well. The entire transaction went smooth -- the initial call to the payment. I like that this company have evening and weekend hours and don't charge an extra fee for work during those hours. They were able to get out to my place soon after I called. It was a pleasure working with them after I had several other plumbers cancel out on me. I was quoted a price of $275 to fix repair. I was offered the Angie's list discount of 10%. However, I ended up paying $250. With the discount, I should of been charged $247.50. I also wanted to see the charge for labor and the charge for parts. It wasn't on my receipt. I asked Adam, the plumber, for this information. He hasn't gotten back to me yet.

It went very well. Both crews came at the time promised, were efficient, clean and professional. They did a great job at both houses. I would definitely hire J&S Plumbing again!

We had a new water heater installed in February by a different company with whom we would not work with again. In August, the new water heater was leaking. J&S is an authorized dealer of our brand water heater, so I called them for warranty service. The plumber came and investigated and discovered that our air conditioner, right next to the w.h., was leaking. He said call the HVAC people, so I paid for the service call and said goodbye. That night, I did some further investigating and discovered that both units were leaking. So, although the plumber was right, he was also wrong, so I had to set up another appointment for them to come back. They came back and within a few minutes, he showed me exactly where the water heater was dripping. In the end, he and his partner did install a new water heater, they fixed all of the bad plumbing done by the guy in February, and they cleaned up afterward, and changed the anode rod to match our hard water, so big kudos to them on all of that. P.S. The equipment was warranted but not the labor, so $400 was labor only plus $100 for the first service call.
