Description of Work: Replaced a plumbing vent stack flashing on a high section of roof. Repaired nail pops. Inspected roof for any other necessary repairs. Very satisfied. Norm is great to work with. This was his second job for us. Highly recommend.

Description of Work: This was my third time using Thompson Roofing. Two years ago he placed an aluminum coating on the flat roof over my back porch. Last year I used a Big Deal, and Norm cleaned the debris off the same roof and recommended that I have it done yearly. I called, and he scheduled the time. He was very punctual. He cleaned the debris off the roof and in the valleys. The work was done thoroughly and quickly. The price was very fair, and I was very pleased. I would definitely hire Thompson Roofing again.

Description of Work: Thompson Roofing removed the old roof. They inspected the plywood, installed ice guard on bottom roof edge and valleys. They replaced all roof vents and plumbing flashings. They installed new felt underpayment. They re-shingled the roof. They took care of obtaining the permit and dumpster fees. They did a excellent job cleaning up.

Description of Work: Norm did the roof repair himself. Did a water leak test and found source of the water leak where wall flashing and shingles meet. Was able to fix by removing old caulking and putting in new caulk. Would use again and will recommend to friends.

Description of Work: Thompson Roofing replaced our roof with an Architectual shingle of our color choice. They also replaced our functional yet aging faux chimney as well as the boots around all the attic vents and the roof vents were replaced with new, matched vents. They painted the pre-existing furnace vent/chimney to match the other roof vents (Black) and the did a pretty good job of cleaning up around the house. They showed up early and got right to work. They worked throughout the day and made great progress and were done by 5-ish. They also hauled away some additional debris I'd been hoping to get rid of for some time. Mr. Norm Thompson was very well versed in explaining the ins and outs of the new roof process and was very patient while my wife and I were selecting the right color of shingle. Two drawbacks in the entire process took place, but they were considerably minor. One was with the language barrier that existed between he and his foreman. He described the ability to take the gutter guards off the gutters (I was having the gutters replaced separately) and the interpreted that as being able to take off the entire gutters. They pieced them back together and made it look as best it needed to be for the short duration they needed to stay in place. I, also, was unable to negotiate the price of the chimney replacement and there weren't many options. Of all the research I had done, I did not get a chance to dig up much on chimney options and I was told he couldn't negotiate the price of the replacement since the margin was so low. I don't feel the chimney was exactly worth what I paid, but the replacement was clean and well done and, again, I didn't do much research, so it could've been an average/better than average price already. Minor, indeed. Mr. Thompson and his crew were courteous and quick. They replaced one set of base-boards and I was impressed at how quick and cleanly they tore down the old and put in the new boards with such a tight fit. The hand-written note a week or so later, was a nice touch thanking us for their business.

Description of Work: Small project to fix loose shingles and replace a small portion of fascia. Work was done well. Sometimes slow communication and would've liked a bit better clean up, but overall a good experience.

Description of Work: Replaced shingles lost in a storm as well as replaced 2 flashings and aluminum coated a small flat roof. All of the accolades in Angie's list about Norm are true. I cannot find anything negative to say. We are really, really satisfied.

Description of Work: I had some storm damage, had broken shingles and ridge replaced, renailed chimney flashing. I called Thomson Roofing on July 16, 2012, he came out and gave me an estimate. I had him stop at my neighbors house as she had also incurred some roof damage from the storm. She was very skeptical that he would be out to give me an estimate because she thought my roofing repair was too small of a job for a contractor to bother with. He came out the next day, gave me an estimate and also gave my neighbor an estimate. We both hired him and he came out on the 18th and fixed our roofs. He did a great job and is a very nice and knowledgeable man. I highly recommend him and so does my neighbor.

Description of Work: Needed the shingles replaced and got three estimates. All the estimates were right around $6000 which was a lot more than I thought it was going to cost because we don't have a very big house. I estimate it took about 14 squares. But Thompsons was right in the middle. The work was completed in one day! This was great because last time there were a dozen guys on my roof and it took them several days. This time 4 or 5 guys got it done in one day. It was a tear off, replace the vents, replace wood as necessary and then the architectural shingles. Norm was very responsive and even helped me out with submitting a clain on the previous shingles which were an organic shingle that they don't make anymore because they start to bio-degrade on the roof! Thanks Norm.

Description of Work: Norm and his team did an excellent job. They are very professional and high-quality. Although I don't anticipate having roofing needs for another 25 years, I would call Norm again if I had a roof job to do.

Description of Work: Norm arrived on the scheduled time. There was a leak (that only came in at garage ceiling) at the intersection where roof of house meets roof of attached garage. This leak only happens in winter due to snow melt and only after a large snow. He inspected the interior area of the leak which was available due to a knee wall storage area adjacent the closet over the garage.and external roof. He said there were two options: 1) open up external roof in area of leak, or 2)caulk some places where it was likely the snow melt was entering. Odds were that 2) would fix it. So that is what he did on the first visit to give estimate and it was completed in 30 minutes. He found a couple of nail pops on his way to the leak area and fixed these as well. I really liked his pragmatic approach to fixing the problem with only reasonable effort/cost. I will not know that this actually fixed the problem until we go through a winter with a significant snow fall. The 1) alternative would have cost much more and might have resulted in the replacement of some shingles on an area of the roof that is seen on a front view of the house. And the new shingles would have been noticeable against 8 year old adjacent shingles. Norm talked with me after the fix and explained some new materials that were available. Since I do some handyman type repairs myself, I valued the experience of a pro.

Description of Work: I would rate him and his workers a 10 on everything. Prompt on giving an estimate, double checked to make sure of the shingles I wanted, reasonable on price and was very neat with absolutely no debris left on job site. Would recommend him to any one.
