SAM I AM INC

It went well. Sam did a really good job on all facets of the project. When he finished, the area was all clean (at least as clean as it was when he got there :) ). The price was good and the workmanship was also good. I would definitely recommend Sam and will use him again.

I think Sam is an excellent craftsman. He installed the garage door opener in an expeditious manner. If I need anything else I will call him and recommend his service.

He never called me back. I called him on 9/30 and again on 10/3 - I left voicemail messages both times but he never returned my call.

Sam called me back the day after I called him and was able to come over the next day. He was on time and very nice. He told me he rebalanced the fan and the horrible clicking noise had finally come to an end! Sam was on time. No nonsence guy. He gets right to the task at hand. He installed the door. Cleaned up and taken all the debri with him. I'm having Sam come back to install a front door at my home. Good guy.

Sam is very efficient, clean and neat. He obviously knows what he is doing by the quickness in his actions. I am a very neat person and Sam keeps his working area neat too. He didn't even leave black finger prints on my white ceilings. He seems to know everything which is cool. Seems trustworthy too, which is important since I am a single mom. He even accommodated my schedule because I have a son with autism. He will be coming back to do a back splash in my kitchen and install a new vanity/new fixtures in my Master Bath. Plus other projects that need to be completed in my house. Sam cleans up everything and takes all the garbage away. If you are looking for an efficient, competent person who knows how to do just about anything, Sam is your man. His prices were competitive and fair compared to other people I had gotten quotes from.

Based on previous reviews I selected this person and all the reviews held up. This person was personable and trust worthy and courteous. He went out of his way to accommodate my mistake. I measured incorrectly and bought the wrong door. Luckily I had the receipt and he offered to go to Home Depot and return the door for the correct size. Of course he did charge me a small amount extra for this but was glad to pay. Installation of the door went fine. Would I use him again, yes.

This is the 3rd time I've hired Sam for his services within the last 4 years. I always contact him for his professionalism, promptness and the quality of his work is very good. The best part is even if it's a small job, he will still take the time to help somehow. He can also fix anything. I know exactly who to contact when I need something done or fixed. Within minutes a of notification by the concierge that a company had been found, Sam called me to confirm an appointment. Sam was very professional, prompt and adjusted the cost of the service call to a lower price than the original estimate. Extremely fair. I will use Sam I Am again. Thank you.

He was very thorough and professional. He came on time and went right to the job. The charge was reasonable. He had all the proper equipment for the job and if there was anything I needed to purchase, he let me know. He had to paint the ceiling for me and he used my paint. It didn't turn out as well as he wanted so he reduced the price for me. I was really happy with that.

I had no problems...even left the house and got missing parts

It has been years later but all the poor workmanship is finally beginning to be evident. There is a leak in the shower floor where the re-tiling was done. This has resulted in water damage to the ceiling below along with mold growth along the joists. This is due to either a problem with installation. Also, we had the contractor build a small platform in the shower to place items on and to use as a support. He used plywood as the base material which soon began to warp. He should have used Durock or some other water resistant material. He used green board as the base of the shower walls rather than Durock for some strange reason.This is not a good material to use compared to what is available. In the other bathroom the tile is detaching and the grout is breaking because the tile was not cemented down correctly and/or the base cement board was not secured correctly to the sub-floor. As a result we do not recommend using "Sam I am".

He did not remove all the water damaged drywall as requested, only some of it. We asked him specifically to remove all of it and replace with new drywall. He said his plan was to repaint over it a few times rather than remove the drywall in certain areas. For the drywall he did remove in the ceiling, it appeared he replaced it with 1/2in board and used drywall compound to fill in for the remaining 1/8in. He said the plan was to fill in and sand the drywall compound then paint. At that point, we terminated our contract with Sam. Based on other contractors who came in after Sam to give us a quote to fix the water damaged ceiling, we were told 5/8in drywall is code for ceilings, not 1/2in drywall. He did arrive promptly each morning. He cleaned up nicely before he left at the end of the day. He removed the wallpaper successfully.

He was prompt in getting out here and he kept his appointment. He was pleasant while he was here. He worked efficiently. It was an all-around good experience.
