Description of Work: Sam put up blinds, installed a new light fixture, changed an outlet, and fixed several doors. In other words, he did various handyman items I needed to have done. He also cleaned up two flower beds and removed the debris.

After discovering the problem and tearing a large hole in the drywall to fix the leak, I called Sam to repair the drywall. He came over and gave me an estimate and even did the work on a Sunday to accommodate my schedule. He also replaced a faulty doorknob which I failed to mention at the time of the estimate.
Description of Work: Repaired drywall damage in ceiling of the garage. Replaced a doorknob.

 + -1 moreSam did an excellent job of "prepping' ,and painting the areas of our 2 story house ,which were in need of "freshing up"! Sam also caulked windows that needed to be done,as well as repair doors that needed to be fixed before they were painted. We were very pleased with Sams' work- the results,price,and his promptness arriving on days he had scheduled, to complete the work on our home. We would definanely use SAM I AM,Inc.,for future projects on our home-WELL DONE!!! :)
Description of Work: Sam came out promptly,and after looking at our outside painting needs and repairs,gave a very fair quote,which we agreed to. Sam came back the following Sunday,and finished the job in 2 days!

 + -1 moreI had spoken to Sam,and scheduled a Tuesday appointment, he said he would call me that morning to let me know what time in the afternoon he would come, on the Friday before i found out that something was scheduled at work and i would not be available that Tuesday afternoon, I called Sam to let him know and try to reschedule, I left him a message on his phone. Saturday came no word from him, i called and left another message, Sunday came and still nothing so i called one more time and even sent him an email. I never heard from Sam, no call no email nothing, While i hope nothing has happened to him, I would have expected at least a call or a message telling me thanks but I cant make it.
Description of Work: I have a 2nd floor toilet leaking in the basement every time you flushed.

 + 2 moreSam was easy to work with. He returned my call for a quote in a couple of days and came by our house to see the space and give us a quote. Sam was the lowest quote that we received. Many of the other quotes involved subcontractors, but Sam does his own work which was nice to work with. We are happy and satisfied with the work that Sam did, and we would call him again in the future to get quotes for projects. Our project was a unique project that involved drywall, carpentry, and electrical, and we were happy to find Sam who could finish the project successfully.
Description of Work: We had a hole in our bedroom wall and closet where the previous home owner's had installed an old tube tv and shelf. Sam removed the existing shelf, and put up new drywall in the bedroom and closet. He also installed a new outlet on the bedroom wall so we could hang a flat panel tv, installed two new shelves in the linen closet, painted and helped hang the flat panel tv mount.

Description of Work: Sam came out and did some work to help get my townhouse ready to rent. He replaced a bathroom exhaust fan, replaced a faucet supply hose, changed out 2 toilet handles in the bathrooms. He also fixed a couple door tracks, replaced the doors to a bathroom vanity, fixed our microwave exhaust vent, and replaced the screens to all the windows in our place. Sam was very fast in calling to set up an initial appointment for a free estimate, and provided a detailed estimate via email a day later. He arrived promptly on the date scheduled to do the work, working quickly and quietly, with no issues. We plan on having him back out to do some painting at a later date.

 + -1 moreWe are so pleased with the job Sam just completed for us. He responded to my request for a bid in less than 12 hours. His price was half of other quotes we received! Our first contractor bid $4500.00, we thought that was way too high, so I turned to Angie's List where I found Sam. Sam removed 138 coach lights and installed 138 new ones. He transferred any light sensors from the old fixtures to the new and put new lightbulbs in all of the new lights. Sam arrived at 6:00 a.m. on a Saturday and Sunday,and was so quiet, no one heard a sound. I was shocked when I went outside and saw that he had already worked on my place right under my bedroom window and I never heard him. A different contractor had quoted us 100 hours to complete the job, and Sam and his helper had it done in 20. He did all this during this sweltering heat. He was always professional and polite. What a nice change to have someone who appreciates the work you offer them. We are all thrilled with the work Sam did, and will definitely make him our first choice for any future work we need done.
Description of Work: Sam removed 138 lantern coach lights from our townhomes. He then transferred any light sensors from the old lights to the new ones. He then installed the 138 new lights and put new bulbs in all of them. He also prepared the boxes and packaging according the refuse haulers guidelines and set it out for recycling.

Becasue all our doors are prefinished we decided to have one of the doors from downstairs moved to the upstairs bedroom to replace the damaged door, and a new door installed downstairs that will be refinished by the kitchen cabinet refinisher that is coming out next week. Sam came out and gave us an estimate to move one door and install a new one which we thought was very reasonable. In additon to installing the doors, he picked up the door from the supplier and brought it to our house which made our life easier. He came out promptly as promised, did the job in a timely fashion and cleaned up when he was done. Job well done.
Description of Work: We had an interior door moved and another one replaced.

Since I had cancelled my satellite service in April, I also needed a part removed from the dish to send back. Sam came out the following Friday to look at the job and provide a quote. He showed up late afternoon after finishing another day scheduled for the day. He provided me with a verbal quote and said he would be back over the weekend; he said I didn't need to be home and would leave anything for me under the mat at the front door. Sam returned Sunday afternoon and removed the cable (which he took it with him) and said there wasn't anything to be removed from the dish. Great service! Glad he responded to my email for help and will definitely call upon him again when needed.
Description of Work: Removal of cable from satellite dish to box. The roof and gutters were replaced last fall and the cable was hanging below the gutters as it was not secured once the gutters were installed.

 + -1 moreSam responded immediately to my email and talked about the work to be done. He quoted $175 for all the work and set up a time for the work. He arrived right on time and fixed the crack in our vaulted ceiling and a couple of popped nail heads. He put down tarps and set up fans to dry the areas and then went to work on the faucet. The off/on valves needed replaced and he came prepared for that. He also had the hoses he needed. The faucet went on well and looks great!! When the ceiling was dry he sanded then areas down. I happened to have some left over paint so he painted the areas too. I would definitely use him again. He quoted me $175 and only asked for $115 because the patch in the living room was so small!! He was great!!

I found Sam's listing and good reviews in Angie's List and gave him a call. He promptly returned my call and said he would take care of the problem. About three days later, I received an email from Sam indicating he had replaced the vent and the cost would be a very reasonable $25. My son confirmed that the vent was indeed replaced and looks good for another 40 years. I certainly intend to keep Sam on my list for possible use in the future. Hopefully in less stressful and urgent circumstances.
Description of Work: While I was in Florida I received a phone call from my neighbor telling me that during a recent wind storm, the attic vent near the peak of my two story home had blown off and he had found it in his yard.

 + 3 moreWe have my son's 1st birthday party coming up so there were a few things we wanted to get done. I contacted Sam after reviewing all the positive ratings. He came by on Saturday when my husband was there and my husband pointed out a few things that we wanted to get done. . He was able to quote my husband right away and he actaully started the work the same day. Sam had to come back a few more times because of the drywall and we had to wait for the storm door to come in. Sam was always prompt and professional. He never left a mess. I would definitely use Sam again.
Description of Work: 1. Replaced Storm Door 2. Changed bathroom light fixture 3. Replaced 3 towel bars. The towel bars were there for about 18 years so the drywall had to come out. So included in this was the replacement of the drywall. (2 day process) 4. Replaced two toilets 5. Fixed 3 bi-folding doors 6. He also put up two baby gates. This was last minute but he had no problem doing it for us.

We made an appointment for him to look over the various fix-it jobs and I received a written estimate a day after the visit. He always arrived on time and wasted no time in completing the jobs. We appreciated the fact that he cleaned up the area where he had worked. We are very happy with the work that he did for us and would certainly hire him again.
Description of Work: We had Sam hang bi-fold doors in two bedrooms, install a new support column and hand rails in the basement stairwell, repair and paint a wall in the basement, replace a missing storm door closure, replace two dimmer switches, fix a kitchen cabinet hinge,install a timer on the landscaping lights and paint a wall.

Description of Work: On 9/23/11 Friday I emailed Sam requesting an estimate on these 2 projects I needed for my house (1) Fix the deteriorating exterior wall (due to snow, age of the house) near my main front door, then painted over all the surrounding woodwork of the main entrance (2) Scraped and painted a portion of the exterior wall below and around one of the bedroom windows. (2) Replace one outdoor-garden faucet. It was old and leaking continuously. Next day Saturday morning Sam called right away and said he can come by that same morning for an estimate. He arrived on time. He checked out everything, measured, took pictures and said he will send me estimate next day by email. After hearing from the 2nd estimate, I decided to go with Sam. We made the appoinment and he completed the job on 9/28/11. Sam did a great job. His work is neat, and nicely done. My main entrance looks much better now. On replacing the garden faucet - Sam had to make a hole inside the closet in the house to reach through the plumbing as it was behind enclosed drywall. Afterwards he left that hole opened just in case that same faucet needs changing again in the near future but he made a cover so it blends with the wall and painted over. That was good judgement and creative thinking.
