Exceptional work. Professional all the way. I had vendors that did not show up, did not send quotes, and did not return phone calls. Tom arrived exactly on time. He is a no nonsense kind of guy. I explained what I wanted and he knew exactly what I needed. Two days later the crew showed up, professional, courteous, and fast. They suggested a couple of changes and said I would like it even better. They were right. Their bid was right in the middle, but the quality at the very top. The other reviews are accurate. This is what contracting should be like. You can use them with confidence. Not only did I get wanted, I got what I hoped for. Thanks!

Tom showed up and provided a bid on the same day I contacted Foz Valley Gutter. As it was a small job, they were able to replace the gutter the following day. The crew arrived at 7:00 AM to remove the existing gutters. This crew explained that another crew would arrive later in the morning to drop off the new gutter parts from another truck. After they removed the gutters the crew returned to the house and replaced the gutters within an hour. All materials were cleaned up. I am looking forward to the next rainfall..

This was the most interesting experience I have ever had doing business with a company. Tom called me the same day I put in a request for a bid. He made arrangements to come to our house and give us a quote. He left the quote in the door along with a sample of the leaf guard. I called him that night and he told me that we really need new gutters all around the house. I was glad he mentioned it because the first company to give us a quote mentioned it as well. At this point I asked him to provide me with a quote for all new gutters/downspouts and leaf guards. Within a week I had newly installed gutters/downspouts and leaf guards. The transaction went smoothly and the customer service I received was impeccable! The installers cleaned up well after themselves - I couldn't even tell they were here and they even cleaned the gutters on the garage. What makes it interesting is that this all went down and I never even had the opportunity to shake Tom's hand. I don't normally do business this way - but there was an unspoken veil of trust that we both knew could not be breached. I highly recommend getting a quote from FVGC - you won't regret it.

Tom came out to give me the quote himself. He's a straightforward guy. We walked around, discussed what changes should be made. He went back to his car and gave me a quote about ten minutes later. No waiting. I got bids from two other companies that were $700 more and $2000 more for the same system. So, I was a tiny bit worried that maybe the professionalism of the installers might not be great. I was wrong about that. There were two workers who handled the job start to finish in a day (and we have a pretty big house...they did the garage too). And when they removed the old gutter, rather than screws, it was nailed in - which increased the complexity of the job by at least 3 hours. But I was not charged more for that. There was also an area around my garage where the wood had rotted through. The guys went out to a lumber yard, bought new lumber and installed it. The additional cost was only $60 which I thought was extremely fair. The gutters all look good and well installed. Happy customer.

Tom and team were very responsive. Scheduling was difficult due to their heavy workload in the fall. Initially we were scheduled for work after the new year but they proactively reached out when an opening came up in their schedule for mid-December. The team was in and out in half a day and made a nice, clean install. The crew did a good job cleaning up after themselves although I did find some aluminum scraps with sharp edges that they missed on my lawn. This was a concern as I have small children who could have found the material an hurt themselves playing with it. Overall I was very pleased with the work and would hire Tom and his team again. *update* 4/25/2015 After the heavy snows finally melted away I noticed that one of the gutter downspouts was crooked. It turned out that one of the straps was not installed at the bottom of the downspout which allowed it to move off-center. I called Tom regarding this and he came out in person on a cold, rainy day, to install the strap and extend the downspout further away from my home's foundation. A big "thank you" for the great customer service!

Tom was prompt in his response to my request for a quote. He came out the following day to provide us with our 3rd quote. His price was the lowest and he was honest about the work that needed to be done. He quoted us a price to replace our gutters and downspouts. I inquired about larger gutters and instead of up selling me on all of my gutters he explained it was more important to have larger downspouts. He had a team of 2 men come out to perform the work. They arrived when they said the would, finished in the time frame they stated, and were meticulous. I have since recommended Fox Valley to other family members and would use them in the future.

The work was done in a timely and very professional manner. The product provided was as quoted and installed properly. All the old gutter and downspout materials were removed completely. The two man crew did all the work in two hours and answered any questions or concerns I may have had. I would highly recommend them to anyone including my neighbors.

5/14/14 I called Tom for a quote and he came out the same day, unfortunately we ran into some other issues and called him back a month later. I gave him the go ahead to do the work and he said he would call me later that day to schedule, 2 weeks went by and no call. I called him again and he said please email or fax the signs quote and he would call me to schedule and he was 3 weeks out which I said was fine and emailed the signed quote the same day. 1 week went by and still nothing, called him back and he said he was now 3-4 weeks out, I asked him if he did not want the work to please let me know, his response was "it's up to you, I told you I was 3-4 weeks out" at that point I told him to forget it. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! He obviously doesn't need the work. Shame on me for wanting to support local businesses!

He came to the house and gave us an estimate. We are postponing getting new gutters so we will not be able to use the Angie's List Big Deal.

It was a good experience. The company arrived and for what I needed I decided that the money I paid was not worth what the were able to do.

It was very good. They were on time, they did what they said they were going to do, and the prices were reasonable.

Service was excellent, very professional neat clean, looks great checked all aprons in process and even flashed my shed at no extra cost. Tom and Aaron where great! Will have them back for future work.

Tom visited the home, measured and was able to hand me a quote within 15 minutes after arriving. He explained the process and we scheduled the installation. The installer was prompt, professional and within 4 hours we had new gutters. What an improvement to the house. Thanks Tom and team!

The first company that I called said that their serviceman was on vacation and would not return for a week. Aaron was at my house at 6:45 am to make the repair on his way to work in Elgin. He made quick work of it. Aaron was pleasant and efficient. There is no question that I will call these folks again and encourage any of my neighbors to hire them.

Tom and his crew were professional and courteous. The proposal had no hidden charges. The work was done quickly, neatly and they went the extra mile by putting some pieces on I didn't expect and they didn't charge me for it. One piece was particularly tricky and when Tom came back to ask about my satisfaction with the job he noticed that another piece could be changed a little to help with better water flow around the deck. Very pleased with this company and so are my neighbors as they watched the work that day.

Tom gave us the best estimate and great advice on how to solve our over-flow issue by suggesting 6" gutters, which turned out to be the answer to our problems. He also gave us some valuable suggestions on how to manage the downspout drainage on the side of the home to run under an existing walkway too, which we followed and the result was terrific. Tom had his crew come out to our home on a last minute request to remove our gutters the day before the painters were to arrive, and when the painting was all done he had Dave, his installer of over 25 years, come out and did a phenominal job of putting up the new guttters and downspouts which put the finishing touch to making our home look brand new again!!

They did a good job of pitching gutters so they work better than the existing ones. They cleaned up nice. They took away the old gutters.

About 5 years ago we had a contractor install a gutter leaf guard system that deteriorated and actually blocked our gutters rather than helping with water flow. Our gutters were overflowing and dumping a lot of water near the foundation. After researching contractors on Angiie's List, I contacted Fox Valley Gutter Cap on a Friday for an estimate. The following Monday the owner, Tom Lynch, came at the arranged time. He looked over our situation and talked me through the best options for our situation. He was knowledgable and very professional. We had a written estimate before he left. We decided to enter into a contract with Fox Valley Gutter Cap for the work. The work was done promptly. The installer was great. He acted professionally and finished the job quickly and neatly. I would highly recommend!

Tom arrived at our home at the appointed time to observe our problems and make an estimate. We discussed some design changes to the gutter system to improve flow from the upper story. The estimate and discussion were completed in about an hour. We accepted his price and scheduled the work for June 10 (pending weather). Tom called the night before to say that if it wasn't raining, they would be at our home as planned at 8am. The predicted storms held off and the 2 man crew arrived on time and began work. They were professional and kept me informed of what they were doing and I went out to discuss details with them from time to time. During the removal of the old gutters on the second story, the workers reported that the fascia behind the gutters was shorter than it normally should be and that the gutter flashing wasn't always overlapping the back of the gutter. Apparently the original builder's crew didn't have the right width of fascia material and used the body of the gutter to bridge the gap. No wood damage was found and the workers assured me that they would install the new gutters solidly and extend the gutter flashing if needed. The job went as planned and the crew was finished about mid-afternoon. The clean up at the end of the job could have been better as the crew left a number of old brackets and nails in the landscape. We've had several heavy rains since then and everything is working as it should.

Tom Lynch of Fox Valley Gutter Cap was fantastic! I'm a big fan of referrals so in needing to replace gutters this spring reached out to my network and had several contacts but couldn't actually get someone to come and quote my job. After looking then on Angie's List and seeing Fox Valley Gutter Cap, I called Tom who came out within a couple days of my quote request, then came out again to quote additional work. He was professional, timely, and seeing the work being done this week am thrilled with the results. I would definitely recommend Tom and Fox Valley Gutter Cap!

I initially contacted Fox Valley 4/16/13, asked for a quote. He said he would get back to me. I asked that he please call me, as I work from home, and not always available to greet people at the door all hours of the day. Next morning he came out with no notification made. He then pounded on the door, finally left his quote and left, as I was busy on calls and could not respond at that moment. I did call him and told him I did not appreciate the no notification, but that his quote looked fine and could he still do the job. He seemed miffed that I was upset that he came out without notification, but said he'd put me on his schedule. Since it was a small job it would be awhile. Here it is June, and nothing, so thought I'd try again. Just called, and asked again. He replied, "oh you are the lady that was angry that I didn't call in advance, yeah well I'm actually doing you a favor and not sure when I can do the job.". Very unprofessional. As far as he knew I may need new gutters or a new roof in the future, now he lost all my business. It's a wonder he's received the excellent ratings he has thus far.
