Description of Work: AAAM's Small Engine Repair's customer service is horrible and unprofessional. After reading the reviews, I was excited about having someone come out to repair the lawn mower as it doesn't fit in our car. We left a message...and then the call back was horrific. The woman was rude...and totally unprofessional...she wasn't trying to help us...she didn't know what she was supposed to say...she didn't try to help...she said...no..and that is it. I will never use this company..and it make me sad because of the great reviews...it make's me doubt Angie's List.

Description of Work: There is a reason Elwood has received more than 170+ "A" rated reviews. I wish he worked on cars too!!! Minor maintainance issues on my lawn tractor, which he corrected. Made a few suggestions on things I could do myself. Very easy to work with. Thank you!

Description of Work: Elwood was great. Did snowblower tune up that was badly needed. He came to my house to do the work, but had to take it in for some extra work. I am very pleased with his service.

Description of Work: My new Sears snow thrower only lasted one season. For two years it sat - unable to start. A friend referred me to AAM's. AAM's asked me if I could bring it in and since I couldn't, he came out to my house at the appointed time. In what seemed like 10 minutes he had it running just like it did the first year. He told me what was wrong with my snow thrower and I understood just enough to know that I couldn't have fixed it myself.

Description of Work: I purchased a big deal for a Lawnmower Winterization OR a Snowblower Tune-Up.

Description of Work: We used AAM for a snowblower tune up on an Angie's list deal a couple of year's ago and when the snowblower broke during the last major winter storm, we called him again. He was able to schedule us conveniently the following week (I think he had even sooner times available but they didn't work for my schedule) and best of all, he comes to the house. He took the snowblower with him and had it back within a few hours. We also had him tune up the lawn mower. The repair and lawn mower tune totaled $145 and I was very pleased with the service. The only negative, and it was small, is that we had an 8 AM apptointment and they called to confirm around 7:30 and we were out walking the dog so they must have thought we forgot about the appointment. We knew he was coming and planned to be back accordingly so there was a little miscommunication there. Overall though it was a very positive experience and so convenient to have him come to the house. I would definitely use again.

Description of Work: Took my machine to their shop (I had expected on site tune up) . Returned it with incorrect drive belt. Machine would not move snow until I replaced with the correct belt. Machine had problems with both the electric and pull starters. Nothing was done and they gave no notice about these problems in spite of having the machine for abut two weeks. I would have authorized additional cost if they had reported back with an estimate.(they should have test started the unit so could not ignore the pull starter problem) I hade to follow up to see why the job was taking so long. When I went to use the machine (supposidy prepared) it was not serviceable without further repairs. I do not think this company is very professional.

Description of Work: After purchasing the Angies list dea for the lawn mower tuneup I emailed the company and never got a reply. A week later I called them. and left a message. No call back. I called again a few days later and left a message with a person who answered the phone. They called me back the next day and set up an appointmen They came at the schedulled date and time and did the service. I didn't need to use the mower for a week after the service but when I did, after 1/2 an hour the self propel stopped working. I called them back, and stressed I was not blaming them for this problem but wanted them to come back and fix the problem at their usual rates. I made two calls and they never called me back. I spoke to a person, not an answeing machine so go figure. Not a great experience. Would not have written this review but I got an email from Angie's list today so I am doing what the list asked me to do.
