+ -1 moreThe process was a pleasant surprise from start to finish. Elwood is a consumate professional. He took a few tools from the back of his van, took the machine apart, cleaned and lube the parts that needed it, and put it all back together again - all within the hour. It was a painless experience, and extreemly reasonable. This business has to be one of the best kept secrets in the Northwest suburbs. People need to know that there is good, reliable, honest and reasonably priced service available. And it is just a phone call away.
Description of Work: They came out to my house to clean and tune my TORO snowblower. It had not been used the previous winter. There was fuel still in the tank and it did not start. Elwood replaced the spark plug, drained and flushed the fuel tank and cleaned the carburetta. He also inspected the blade lubricated the chute and control wires.Tested the machine and everything worked fine. It now starts on the second pull of the pull-start.

Description of Work: I purchased an Angie's list deal for a snowblower tune-up. In the end I cancelled the deal because making the appt. took about 10 minutes on the phone because the woman was talking to someone else the whole time. Finally I did get scheduled, but then they did not show for the appt. I cancelled my deal because this was too unprofessional.

+ -1 moreI brought in a snowblower for tune up. It was very large and heavy. He helped unload and load it. He told me the next time that they could come out to my house, make the repair and save me the trip. They are very helpful and honest.
Description of Work: I bought a special tune-up certificate on Angie's List. I brought in my lawnmower for a tune-up and repair of self-drive. Since it was long before the season, I told them they could keep it as long as they needed. It was ready in a week. Everything was tuned, oil changed, and blade sharpened. There was an extra charge to fix the self-drive. I was told this up front and the charge was minimal. Everything was done right. I have used them also for snowblower repair and tune-up. I feel they are very honest people, they do a good job, and their prices are reasonable, well below others in the area. I will use them again, for all of my gas engine repairs and tune-ups. Their Angie's List deals are a real bargain if and when available.

+ -1 moreHe arrived promptly at the scheduled time and was done with both in less than 30 minutes. Both the lawn mower and snow blower worked perfectly after he was done. Blades sharpened, oil and spark plugs changed, and I didn't have the hassle of loading both into my car to drop them off for service. I've used this big deal the past two years and will definitely buy again next year.

+ -1 moreHe tried hard to give me a good lawn mower tuneup. It would not start when he began trying to fix it, and he had a rough time with it. But I know mowers can be completely fixed, they are not complex machines. And in spite of his efforts, all summer the mower had issues with starting, and it would chug and not run smoothly. So I did get one more season out of it, but I've given up on it, and would have been a lot better off putting that money toward a new mower. If it needed attention that was outside of the scope of a tuneup, he should have told me, and I would've been able to decide what I wanted to do with all the information on the table.
