Great. Punctual. No mess. Thorough.

The company was overbooked when I called to schedule an appointment and a date was booked two weeks later. They were courteous in calling me the day before to remind of the service appointment and was on-time when they arrived at my house. Elwood was very professional in quickly resolving my snowblower issues and throughout the whole customer experience. I was very impressed with his mobile garage. Overall, I am very satisfied with my experience working with AAM and would highly recommend them for their mechanical knowledge, professionalism and reasonable pricing.

we had a bit of difficulty getting my schedule and their's in sync, but once we made the appointment, they were here on time and did a fine job on the repair. Also gave me good advice on the upkeep. Responsive and great folks. Would use again. They came to my home which was necessary, as the snow blower was too large to fit in my vehicles-even an SUV. They arrived in a fully outfitted mobile service vehicle.

He does the lawn mower. He was great, that guy was wonderful and reasonable. He will comes out to your house to fix your lawn mower or to fix your snow blower. He does engine repair, he does tractors, lawn mowers, snow blowers, he is authorized. His name is Elwood Marksberry and he is good! I give him an “A”! I am going to use him again!

He determined that the connecting rod had broken. He clearly explained the situation to me and advised that it would be more expensive to repair the engine than to buy a new one. I decided to hold off on any action until I had researched best plan of action. I ended up buying an entirely new machine on sale at Menard's for about the cost of a new engine alone (uninstalled). I was very satisfied with AAM'S Small Engine Repair and I would recommend them to anyone.

The work was done at my place. Arrived on time and completed the tune up on time.

Elwood was very helpful with suggestions on what to look for when buying a new lawnmower. He did not try and rush me even though I was not a paying costumer.

It took all of 30 minutes for Elwood to come out, and another 30 minutes to get my mower fixed. What great service! And even with my mistake causing the lawn mower to stall, Elwood never once made me feel bad. Very polite, professional and also nice. Highly recommended!

When someone goes above and beyond the call of duty they deserve to receive kudos. I had scheduled a time for Elwood of AAM's to come to my home to fix a part that had worn out on my John Deere lawn tractor. In advance we had diagnosed what the problem was and he acquired the necessary part. However, once he arrived it became obvious the person at the parts facility gave him the wrong part! This is not uncommon however frustrating it may be so we rescheduled another time for him to go get the correct part and return the following week. It is worth noting AAM's is located in Elgin and I am located in Naperville so there is a bit of a drive involved. To my surprise, Elwood went back to the parts facility during his travels and CAME BACK THE SAME DAY TO COMPLETE THE REPAIRS ON MY TRACTOR! To say I was delighted and surprised is an understatement. Based on this experience I can highly recommend anyone to contact AAM's Service Repair for any repairs you may need for your lawn equipment. They will literally go the extra mile to take care of you and fix your problem. Thank you.

I called the office for an appt and told them what else was wrong. The woman answering the phone seems to have no clue what is going on. She said they would have to order the part before he comes out. Ok, I gave her all the info and she said they would call back. This was like September by the time I had gotten all the info about the mower she wanted. Then winter hit so I figured Id call again in the spring. The service was good for a year. Just called yesterday and the woman has no clue who I am...in fact never even asked my name or address. She again tells me they have to order the part, which I proceeded to tell her that's what I was told six months ago and was never called back. Before I called I had messaged them to get an estimate on how much the repair would be because I'm not paying more then the mower is worth. Never to this day got a response to that question on line. It's like they take your money and put you off long enough until the offer expires. I will never recommend them nor use this service again. I think the repair guy knows what he is doing and had no issues with him...but they have to get somebody in the office that can handle the office end. She's costing him business.

We dropped the lawn mower off on Tuesday, 3/22/16 and Adam called the very next day telling us that he had completed the tune up. This is the third year in a row that Adam has taken care of the lawn mower. Adam is very friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. Both Adam and his father come each year to our house to tune up the snow blower. We are always very satisfied with their work and highly recommend them.

I think he did a good job. The only problem I see is that we never got any kind of receipt or invoice from him. He came, did the job and left. We weren't home at that time. We're aware that he's going to come and repair our lawn mower while we're at work. He didn't leave anything as far as what he did to the lawn mower.

Small engine master. On time and on price. Very fair and straightforward snow blower tune. Tune included checking a whole bunch of items that I really wouldn't expect to be covered in a tune up. Had the parts and fixed all the items that he uncovered all within the scope of a "tune up". Great guy!

The service went very smoothly - arrived on time and got the job done quickly. It still took some effort to start the snowblower when we got our first heavy snow, so next time I may try to arrange the service closer to the start of winter.

A few weeks after Elwood (owner of Aam's small engine repair in Elgin, IL) was here, I noticed the snowblower had a huge puddle of oil under it. I called to let him know. He told me a few things I could do and as a favor to him, so he did not have to come out to my house again, I tried those things and the oil slowed down. After a few more weeks the oil leak stopped. Elwood should have come out to make sure everything was ok at that time. When the first snow was predicted, I came home from work and poured gas in the blower to get it prepared for the next day as 8 inches was predicted. The gas poured right out of the blower. I called Elwood and he first said he could come out in two weeks. He said it was the spark plug - why he came to that conclusion with the gas pouring out I can only presume he knew he made a mistake. I asked him to come that evening. He refused. Said he couldn't see. I told him there was a garage with lights he could work in. Again, he refused. He offered to come out the next day early afternoon - of course after the majority of the snow. I called someone else and they came out that evening to an extra cost to me. He called when he was leaving (he actually tried to call a few more times that morning but I was out snowblowing). I told him that I chad hired someone else and that I need a refund. He said he would call me back on Monday. Today is Thursday and I have texted him and tried calling his shop. He has not returned my call. I gave him one last chance and I know I will never hear from him again. He NEVER hooked up the gas line. The issue would have taken him minutes to do - even if it was a bit of a drive for him, I a his customer and I did trust him to do an excellent job. Too bad he let it go so far that I had to write this review. DO NOT HIRE HIM - HE IS NOT TRUSTWORTHY!!!!!!!!!! I STILL WANT MY REFUND - PLUS THE COST OF 2 GALLONS OF GAS - $106.00

I used Elwood for several years to fix my lawnmower and snowblower, and he was very good. However, I stopped using him because he became very unreliable and no longer provided good service. I will never use him again because of my experience with him.

I used them one time only. It was too much of a hassle to deal with them again. They're too far away. It was so-so. I would not use them again. The condition of their office was kind of like a "fly by night" place. I didn't like them.

Elwood picked up my snowblower at my house, he had for a couple of weeks ( I was in no hurry as its September) and brought back to my home. Although I have not started it yet, he diagnosed issue I had before and went over with me in person along with a refresher on do's and dont's with this model. Elmwood is very knowledgeable and so far appears to have done a really good job.

I think the service went ok. I wasn't home when it happened. The one thing I am a little unsure of is whether the blades of the mower were sharpened. This was supposed to be part of the service but they didn't feel as sharp as I was expecting them to be.

It went great. He showed up on time and did a great job.
