This was a huge project. Scott and Christopher started promptly and worked diligently everyday (some days not even stopping for a lunch break). Scott was great at keeping me apprised of everything. I am a picky person and the couple of minor issues (very minor) I had Scott and Christopher immediately (and pleasantly and respectfully) remedied. All I can say is that they did a beautiful job. I am absolutely thrilled with the finished project. Not only would I recommend them, but I would have them back to my house in a heartbeat!

We purchased an Affordable Artistry Painting & Refinishing big deal from Angie?s List ? everything went fine. I post a comment online once and kept getting this things to do it again but I already done it so I just ignore it because I did it like those same time the week after he painted. Everything was great! He did what he suppose to do and was need to done it and did in the time he said it would be done and everything was fine. He was very professional and cordial and did a lovely job. No extra service because he did it in a time he said it would take was just that much. I have most of the wall paper down so he finished removing some wall paper and prepped the walls and painted these walls and ceiling so it?s mostly painting.

They missed a couple of spots on door jambs, which in fairness weren't included in the job, but addressing these very minor touch-ups on their own initiative would have been nice.

They came on time every day and set right to work. They didn't need anything from me. They were very nice and helpful. They even offered painting tips. They cleaned up after themselves everyday and did an excellent job of that and painting. They were very honest about their hours. They are a father and son team and I was amazed at how nice they work together. You will not be sorry if you hire them.

The guys painted my living and dining room. Consultation a few weeks in advance was very helpful, and I did all the prep work they suggested. The team showed up on time, did great work, and left the rooms cleaner than they found them. I'd certainly used them again! |

Scott and his son did a super job. We were afraid that you would see the patches of the drywall in the ceiling, but even knowing they were there, you can't see any difference in the ceiling.. Scott also did an excellent job where the medium brown painted walls met with the white ceiling. They were very tidy and cleaned up after themselves. There was absolutely no mess left for us. We were very pleased with them and will use them again.

The work was done well, safely and on time. They even advised me I had some time remaining from my paid for time and did additional painting of doors at no added cost.

He came, looked at the job , quoted a fair price and did the work. He cleaned up, I was very pleased with his work.

It took 3-4 days to complete. Provider was very professional and keep me in the loop the entire time. Provider came back after prject was finished to complete a few items I found were not up to my standards. Great job.

They did some outside work on a two dormers up on the roof. They were professional, nice and did great work. Two or 3 workers came to work on the project and it took about half of the day. They were responsive when I called.

Scott came out to "bid" the project in order to tell me how much he would be able to cover with each of my Big Deal coupons. He sent me a contract by email outlining in detail what he planned to do for the Big Deal price and scheduled a work window. When it was time to start painting, he brought his son Christopher to help with the job. They did a great job working around an awkward chandelier in my entry and the paint looks great. They weren't the cheapest painters I've ever used, even with the Big Deal, but they did a good job.

Scott and his son showed up on time and after helping me move furniture to make their work more efficient, covered EVERYTHING with plastic sheeting and put canvas drop cloths on the floor. The scope of work had changed somewhat since Scott and I had met several weeks prior but after a 5 minute discussion re the changes, they were rollin' with no problems or complaints. To me, that's a sure sign of a professional. They: patched and prepped where necessary used their own shop vac and rags to clean surfaces where necessary removed and re-installed fragile vertical blinds The edging and cut in work was crisp and clean. The rolled areas were even and consistent. The communication with me during the work day re questions or preferences was great. And of equal importance but not necessarily "paint" related, they left my driveway ( outdoor work area) AND bathroom clean and neat. I plan on using Scott again this winter for more interior painting.

Scott, the owner, was punctual, professional and very helpful. I needed a suggestion for a color in the great room and the color Scott chose pulled everything together from the kitchen color, the floor covering and a favorite painting. I just love it and so does everyone else that sees it! He did a most excellent job of repairing the walls before painting and then the paint job itself. I am so please and happy with his work that I want to have him come back and finish painting the rest of my house!

We used the big deal. He was great and very good. He did all that in two days and did a great job. I thought the price was reasonable too. His punctuality was real good.

After buying the Big Deal, I contacted the provider to arrange for an appointment. We were in a hurry to get the work done so we could get the house on the market. Scott returned the call that evening and was very accommodating to our schedule. He gave us a quick appointment and was prompt and professional. The deal was for 16 hours of painting, so we showed him the work, and gave him our priorities. He estimated that they could complete all the baseboards and a stairwell within the allotted time. We agreed to the scope and he said he would get back to us soon with a start date. A couple of days later he called and had a start date that was less than 2 weeks away, which made us happy. Again, he was ver accommodating, knowing that we were in a hurry. On the day of the work, he called in the morning to say he might be a liitle late, but still arrived on time. Their work was excellent and they were very neat. And they accomplished more than he had estimated. In addition to the baseboards and stairwell, they also completed several door and window frames. We are very pleased with the quality of the work, and appreciate the level of service that we received.

I bought the Deal in the afternoon, and later that evening he already emailed me, making first contact. He politely explained that he only services the St. Louis area and encouraged me to get a refund.

Scott Gower is a magician, artist, conscientious business person and all around nice guy. After gut rehabbing our 8,000 square foot commercial photo studio, we quickly discovered that the process and product on our floor was defective. Thorough research over 5 years yielded no fix. Until Scott came along, that is. Scott understood our issue and took it upon himself to research new and innovative solution options. Scott and his son meticulously worked their magic on half of our studio, which they carefully matched in color and finish to the existing floor on the less damaged other half of the studio. At our request, they then proceeded to provide a more temporary repair to the side of the studio that was not fully replaced. This repair required many attempts at matching color and finish, all of which Scott persistently perfected until he got it right. He goes many extra miles to get the job right. He is accommodating, thorough and fair. We will not hesitate to call on Scott again or recommend him to others.

Very detail-oriented and precise. They did a great job. I guess I didn't realize how much work was involved, because it took longer than I anticipated, but well worth the time. Scott was very informative throughout the process; letting me know what he was doing and why. Always checking in with me. He also was helpful when I didn't really like my paint color; he offered to add tints to adjust the color. It worked out very well, and I didn't end up with pink walls!

Removed old wallpaper on 4 walls in kitchen. Prepared walls for new paint including patching plaster. Finished job within the time-table estimated. Made suggestion to ensure walls would retain paint.. Great job....

They came out and painted my dining room - and then returned to pain my trim. Their work was flawless - it looks amazing and I get a TON of compliments! I am very picky and TRIED to find a spot that didn't look perfect and I couldn't.

They came out to do the estimate and were very prompt. After looking at all the things that I wanted done, they put together an estimate of how much time it would take and what materials would cost. They scheduled a day for the work to take place and were right on time that day as well. I had nail pops and some water damage spots in several ceilings which they repaired. Since those spots needed to be painted, they were very willing to try to use paint I had from previous jobs and when one ceiling couldn't be matched, the cost of new paint was very reasonable. They took great care in making sure not to damage my furniture and were very good at cleaning up after the work was performed. Overall, a wonderful experience.

Scott and Christopher did such a good job painting my bedroom that I have hired them to do my living room/dining room/hallway, which they are upstairs in the process of doing right now. Scott is very busy, so there is usually a wait period. We had some miscommunications on the scope of work, and computer glitches concerning emails, etc., but it all worked out fine. Once Scott provided me with a detailed proposal, everything went pretty smoothly from there. The price quoted above is the master bedroom work only, and was done with a Big Deal plus materials. The price for the living room/dining room/hallway, again all vaulted ceilings, plus woodwork, is $2,000.00. Since that is not yet finished, I'll wait and review that when they're done. But I anticipate no problems. Scott and Christopher are very pleasant and hard working.They moved the furniture and covered it (after I removed all my breakables first) and left no mess.

My early communication with the owner was frustrating because he would not respond to my emails or phone calls for many days. He told me that he would provide me with a very detailed work list and cost estimate for the removal of wallpaper in several rooms followed by painting the same rooms. When he finally got around emailing me the bid, he emailed me one sheet with just the total cost. When I contacted him about the lack of detail it took him several days before he responded and told me he would provide me with the detailed bid, but he never followed through with it. The owner and his teenage son arrived late the first morning. They started the morning with a broken sprayer (needed to wet the walls for wallpaper removal), which the owner stated was a common problem he had been dealing with for months because of them freezing overnight in his truck. Instead of having a spare new sprayer with him (or better yet not leaving them in his truck every night knowing they would freeze and crack), he had to send his son to the hardware store, which led to 40 minutes lost time before son returned with a new sprayer and having a stop at a convenience store for some refreshments--on my time and nickel. After the wallpaper was removed in a small bedroom and the owner and his son left, I spent about 45 minutes squeegeeing water out of the perimeter of my carpet--it was very wet. I had to run a dehumidifier in the room all afternoon and throughout the night to dry the carpet. While examining the condition of the walls after the removal of the wallpaper, I rubbed my hand over the wall in various places and white chalky powder still existed in some areas, even after the owner supposedly washed down all of the walls in preparation to start painting the next day. The first day's work was covered by my Angie's List Deal. The second day of work would be paid by the hour with no signed contract of any kind. When the owner arrived to start painting the second morning I informed him all I wanted him to do was paint the ceiling and leave. The walls were in no condition to have paint put on them and the sloppiness of his work the prior day concerned me. The owner was very irritated by this news and he proceeded to paint the ceiling very quickly. By this time, his son had already tracked paint on to my hall steps, so I knew I had made the correct decision in not having them do any more painting for us. After spending about 20 minutes or so painting the ceiling, he packed up and left, telling me the little time he spent painting the ceiling was ?on the house??.good thing, because he had left huge streaks on the ceiling, which remained even after the ceiling was dry. (It was not a paint quality issue because I bought the brand of paint he requested.) I suppose at this point in time, he just didn?t care about the quality of his work.
