My phone call was answered immediately, and a date for an estimate was made. They called to tell me the time, and Jeff also called when he was running late. He made a full inspection of the situation, accessing the roof, and measuring both inside and out. He did not pressure me into buying two skylights, ( I had had ask just for an estimate for one, the one I that was leaking) but when he did indicate, and again NO PRESSURE, when I asked about the other skylight, that the glass was getting stressed. At no time did I feel pressured into buying something I did not want or need. He allowed me to make that decision which is one of the reasons they deserve such a high mark. He gave me the estimate, which was almost 2,000.00 dollars less then another company, plus the other company did not even go up on the roof to inspect the skylight and they said I HAD to replace the other skylight. They were able to schedule me sooner then expected, and the young man, ( whom I am sorry to say I can't recall his name!) was very professional, on time and clean up any debris. This company is one I would definitely recommend to anyone in their area to service, replace, or install skylights. Very satisfied!

Project went well once it was finally started. Windy City Skylights had to re-schedule the work two weeks later because of employee problems. This is two weeks after I had already waited 1-1/2 months for an install.

Jeff and Steve came to have a look right away. They were on time, courteous, and had an estimate to me within 24 hours as promised. I was about to paint the interior of my house, and I needed to get the work completed quickly. The price seemed fair, the work was done right away, and the company was extremely professional. I thought they were terrific.

Overall, a very positive experience. After the big rainstorm in Spetember, I was able to get them out quickly to do an estimate. The estimator Bill, showed me what was wrong with the installation of the current skylights, and even spent some time to correct the problem for me so they would hold out until they could come do the work. I liked that they are Velux specialists and that there's a strong guarantee with the work. The guys who came to do the work were terrific. They worked hard (it was a long day) and they took care to make sure items in my apartment were covered and protected beforehand. They cleaned up well also. My only complaint was a scheduling problem we had. I had changed my installation date 2 weeks prior but they ended up showing up on the wrong day initially. If they had called the day before to confirm the appointment, we could have corrected the problem but they did not call to confirm. You would think when they book projects weeks in advance, they would call to confirm. As it was, they were able to reschedule for the day they were supposed to. I would highly recommend Windy City Skylights. Quality work at a fair price.

Overall it was a good experience. Jeff arrived a couple of days after my initial call and ran us through how skylights work, the manufacturing process, and how they can fail. Their warranty was big selling factor for us. They were pretty booked up and Jeff went through his calendar and did some shuffling around in order to get us in sooner since our leak was fairly severe. Installation took about 9 hours and Jeff called to check in with us and how we liked them right after the install was complete. Thus far, no more water in our kitchen and the light blocking properties of the velux windows has dropped the temperature in the room dramatically. I ended up running about $700 over what I had hoped to spend but I think it was worth every penny for the service, warranty, and excellent product.

They arrived 1 1/2 hours late, but did a good job installing the window. I am particularly impressed by how they did the electrical wiring without making any holes in the walls or ceiling. They initially wired it up such that the window only works if my outside light was on, but we spotted that before he left and they fixed it quickly. I am very impressed by the after sales service of this company. They followed up by e-mail and phone to make sure that everything was fine. They did a follow up visit to do some extra tests on the correct working of the rain sensor and to check out some brown spots on the window which I could not reach myself. I have no hesitation to recommend this company to anyone. I highly recommend getting one of these skylights installed to reduce your energy usage on summer cooling.
