They are awesome. They are good guys. They're clean, polite and do a good job. We've never had a problem them. They're on the expensive side, but they do good work.

This repair required 2 visits -- at the initial visit I assumed the unit needed to be replaced so I had purchased a different brand sine I could not find the same one; and I was ready for him to install it. After looking at the problem, Chad advised me to contact the manufacturer who would likely send out replacement parts if they were needed and then he could come back and do the work using the same brand -- a less expensive task than taking out the entire unit; changing the plumbing connections to install a new unit. I was glad to see this visit was no charge and he would wait for me to call and have them come back to do the needed work. When I did, they sent Kelly who had experience with the type of shower like the one that I have. He was very methodical and upon advice of the manufacturer to not replace the unit but to remove a pin, he investigated the solution, explained what was needed and did the work in under an hour.

See above. They have fixed toilets, sinks, sump pumps over the years and assessed leaky ceilings. Their work holds up-no return calls.

I have used Stephens Plumbing & Heating Inc for a couple of times. I used first use them 2011 and I was very pleased with theirrodding service. I found them in Angie's List. They send a guy who was extremely knowledgeable, very personable and spent the time showing me what the problems were. He fixed them on site and I was extremely pleased. My only issue about them is the price they charge is very expensive. The last time I used them is in March of last year. I called them and they showed up the next day.

I think highly of them. We use them all the time. The price seemed a little high to be but I do value their professional, quality and knowledge of plumbing. I do regard them as such professionals and I know that they are doing it right.

Went well. On time, professional. Quality work. Wore those little booties in the house. Told me what to tell Delta to get the part. all good.

I had a clogged toliet. They were my second call after the first company said I would need new pipes. Stephens Plumbing & Heating Inc stated that wouldn't be necessary. They came out right away and took care of the issue. They even gave me an Angie's List coupon discount.

Very well. I had my bathroom remodeled, and the plumbing by the original contractor was sub-standard. Stephens came out an fixed the work the original plumber had done improperly.

Overall the experience was very good. They called when they were on their way which I asked them to do. Technician was polite, friendly and professional. He readily answered all of my questions which were more than a few and was sincere and motivated to provide a quality service. A couple of times he called someone at the firm to ask a couple of questions, which I appreciated on one level, and on another level made me wonder if he was less experienced than other technicians.

Overall I was very pleased by the professional expertise exhibited by Mike, who perforfed all the work Very considerate in preparing the work area.

When I determined my ~18 year old water heater was dripping into the heating element, I called Stephens Plumbing for a replacement, as I assumed the tank was leaking. I chose Stephens based on Angie's list reviews and rating and . Stephens came out the next day with a replacement water heater, but determined what I was seeing was condensation from the tank after all hot water was used (I have a teenage daughter who likes her long showers). The technician told me there wasn't anything currently failing on the water heater, but we agreed that at 18 years old it was likely to fail at any point (and, since it is in a finished basement and didn't have a drain pan, a burst tank would likely incur other damage). I decided to proceed with replacing the water heater and having a drain pan installed. After discussing possible water heater options, I opted for a mid-line model (not high efficiency due to the added venting that would need to be installed). The technician didn't have all the necessary parts (such as the pan), so scheduled the work for the next day. He arrived the next day as scheduled and replaced the water heater in about 2 hours. He was careful to protect stairs and such when pulling out the old unit and installing the new. He was quite courteous and professional and explained all the steps involved, allowing me to hover around as he did the installation. The unit has been in for almost 2 months without problems. I was quite happy with the work and I believe the price was fair. I expect I could have found a less expensive installer, but I wanted one that had good reviews and in which I would have confidence. I was quite happy with the experience and would recommend Stephens to anyone requiring water heater or plumbing work. I suspect my furnace may require replacement in the next few years and, if it does, I would definitely contact Stephens about doing such a replacement.

They have always been prompt and professional.

He is professional and on time, but unfortunately he cannot solve our problem since this is not a plumbing issue from what he understands. He did give us suggestions on what to do next. He was here about 30 minutes but the service fee is high than we expected especially when there is nothing he can do. Next time, we will check around for more vendors to compare before asking for service.

I was not pleased and will not reccomend them.

I would have gone over and checked the drain prior to calling the plumber. Draino is cheaper than Stephen's, but I would definitely call them again if I have a major plumbing problem.

Received a reasonable quote from company. began work within 2 weeks. Assured our heating system would be running before night fall. Installed heater on day one, connected humidifier on day 2. professional and courteous. reasonably priced. knowledgeable and trustworthy.

I am so happy with Stephens. John came over within 2 hours of my call to tell them the furnace had stopped working. In just a few minutes he identified the problem and then changed out the part and added a small part to protect from the same problem in the future. He was professional as was the receptionist I spoke to when I initially called. He was quick which was great because I was missing work during a very busy season. And finally, the bill was lower than I had expected. I definitely recommend Stephens for heating work.

Arrived on time, traced leak to proper bathroom and fixture (toilet). Removed and reset toilet with new seal. Checked for leaks. Passed tests and departed in under 90 minutes. Suggested I could use coupon available on Angie's List, thus saving me $20. Job well done.

They called before they came out. Determined that the water heater ( 7 ) years old needed to be replaced. He also pointed out that the previous installation was not done properly and added some pipe and re- configured the vent.

They are punctual and very competent. They're all great.

I have used Stephen's Plumbing and Heating for over 25 years. I have recently moved to a new town, and will continue to use them for all my heating, plumbin and air conditioning needs. They are all extremely professional, well educated, hard working, and always get the job done. They will suggest, but never push. I have used them in emergencies for both heating and plumbing problems in the past and their response time is unbelievable...they are also very trustworthy. From big jobs to small jobs, these are the only plumbers I will ever use. This also goes for their heating and air conditioning services. They kept a 30 year old central air conditioning unit running for us, and didn't try to talk us into buying a new one. They are honest, very honest and their service is outstanding. No one likes to pay what a plumber charges nowdays, but these guys are worth every penny. They do the job, and they do it right the FIRST time. I have the utmost confidence in Stephen's Plumbing and Heating from Downers Grove.

We recently purchased a new gas oven range. When it was being installed (by the store delivery guys) they discovered there was a leak in the gas line. We called Stephens Plumbing and Heating and they came and examined the gas line and valve to the oven range. They discovered there was a problem with the valve. They had to come on a separate day to complete the work as we live in a condo building and we needed to notify the association to shut of the gas for a period of time that day. The day of the service the technician was prompt and completed the job quickly and professionally. We have been using Stephens Plumbing for over 10 years and have always had a positive experience with them. They always made repairs and did their work competently, professionally, and were friendly. I find their rates are reasonable. The cost for this repair was as much as it was because it was an emergency and we also had to do it on a Saturday which increased the cost. I would highly recommend Stephens Plumbing and I will be calling them in the future for any plumbing/heating needs. During this visit the technician also fixed a minor bathtub drain problem quickly and easily.

This story started with my poor decision to put off for one more season replacing my aging furnace. I started having intermittent failures with the control module, and of course, this happens in the middle of a very cold snap. Stephens came promptly, diagnosed the problem and presented me with options to replace the module (several hundred $$, mainly because of the cost of the module) and to replace the furnace. Since the furnace was 29 years old, I opted to replace the furnace. They showed up promptly for the installation appointment, did an incredibly efficient job and were also very neat while working. I have used Stephens for years and their technicians are everything one could ask. They're professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Once they had the new furnace installed, we encountered a problem with low voltage, preventing the furnace from operating properly. They helped us get an electrician on site within the hour, and the electrician discovered a fault with the feed to our home from the electric company. With their help, we got the electric company out within another couple of hours and they made temporary repairs so the furnace would operate normally. Not only was the actual installation smooth and efficient, but the Stephens crew was incredibly helpful getting the electric company problems resolved right away. I have been a very satisfied customer for many years (both HVAC & plumbing), and I will continue to rely on them for years to come.

We first called a plumber to fix our leaking faucets and he asked for $2500! We called these guys and they performed the work in 30 mins and only took about $150. The guy was honest and worked fast. I will be calling them again when I need help.
