Stephens Plumbing

This is not the first time I have used Stephens Plumbing, and probably (alas) not the last time their services will be needed. I had originally requested the replacement of my old sump pump for peace of mind since my pump seems to work all the time - but when Chad evaluated my former back-up system, he determined that while that battery was new, the supplemental pump that I was unaware of was totally frozen. So another date was scheduled to replace everything. He arrived promptly and in less time than originally quoted had some pipes replumbed and the new systems up and running - a very professional and curteous associate.

They were excellent in an emergency situation and were able to come out the next day. They were very knowledgeable, courteous, reasonably priced and did a great job.

Stephens employees came out to the house repeatedly to measure and discuss possible work-arounds (since we have a low ceiling in the basement) They provided a quote and held firm to the quote, even though on the day of installation, the work too much longer than they'd anticipated (estimated 3 hrs., but it took closer to 4.75 hrs.) All-in-all, very pleased with the service (I only gave a B for punctuality since they were late the day of installation...otherwise, a solid experience).

They stayed until they could get fixed. They are just wonderful and always do a fabulous job. They always call before they come. They are always on time.

We like their quick response and their quality of work. They were very professional.

Went excellent. I have dealt with Stephens since 1977. Always found them to do the complete job, and to stand behind their work.

Everything went well. Would use Stephens Plumbing again and would recommend them to friends and neighbors. On a note outside of my review of Stephens Plumbing: Angie's list is asking for approximate cost of service but I do not feel this is something I need to share with Angie's List and therefore have put a 0 in this question.

Everything was excellent. Booking appointment was done via phone very professionally. Plumber arrived on time (first appointment of the day) and was very experienced and professional.

It turned out very well. They were professional, prompt, and clean. It was all positive, but nothing stood out.

Nels came out on time, was very professional and polite. He listened to my concerns then cleaned both furnace units, cleaned out and inspected both humidifiers & filters, explained functions and general maintenance, and checked the filters in the furnaces. Made sure that all my questions were answered everything was performed to my satisfaction. After having success with the heating end of the operation, had Chris come out to address some plumbing issues. The leaking toilet required new flapper, fill valve and supply line which was replaced. A rain shower head and arm were installed successfully. Chris needed to troubleshoot noise coming out of a faucet, replaced aerator and issue was resolved. While repairing a non-working disposal, I made the decision to replace it as there were previous issues with it. There was no pressure to replace it and all my options were clearly outlined but decided I would be happier with a new unit which was installed.

I reached out via the website after reading the reviews on Angie's list and Pam reached back out within a day to schedule the estimate. She was clear that they were booked for 3-4 weeks and would not be able to start immediately, which was fine with me and I appreciated the disclosure. She gave me a two hour time slot for Saturday and Tony arrived to give me the estimate. We were looking to add a three piece bath and a bar sink for the project. I received the estimate within a week for $7,245.00. I was surprised to see that the estimate was so high as originally, based on the good reviews from Angie's list, I had planned to go to Stephens and be done with it. I especially wanted to support them because they are locally based. I then reached out to two other plumbers from Angie's list to have them quote the same project. Both of them came in around $5,000. I reached back out to Stephens to advise them of this information to see if they wanted to revise the quote or take another look in case their assessment was off. I did not receive a response from them. I cannot comment on the quality of their work, but price-wise, they were significantly more expensive than the two other bids we received.

The work performed was great. The hook-ups needed to be installed quickly so that the new appliances could be be installed as well. Brian did a great job and was very professional and took the time to explain what he was doing and where the necessary shut-off valves were located. We encountered a minor issue when it was determined the location of the exterior dryer vent could not be where initially planned and Brian was able to find a feasible new location. Would definitely work with Stephens Plumbing again on any future plumbing needs.

RepIr went well. No problems

At 10:00 p.m. Wednesday night, our 20 year old hot water heater failed and began to leak. After clean up, we called and left a message at Stephen's Plumbing requesting that they contact us if possible the next morning to set up an appointment. Thursday morning, we received a call at 7:45 a.m. We discussed the details of the job and were told that someone from their company would arrive that day sometime between noon and 2:00 p.m. The Stephen's plumbing crew arrived at 1:30 p.m. with the new hot water heater. They removed the old heater and installed new piping using a much more efficient path. We had requested a cut-off valve for the gas line which we did not have available with our old hot water heater and they also installed a new ball-valve cut-off for the hot water supply. They installed an A.O. Smith hot water heater which is their brand choice because of its extended warranty and high quality. Work was completed and site cleaned up by 4:00 p.m. that afternoon. Great job!

They gave me the wrong advice. What they suggested what was not what needed done at all. Each time they came out it was a lot of money. The final outcome was that someone else came and did something totally different.

Our plumber retired and we went to Angie's List to find a new one. Based on location and reviews, we selected Stephen's Plumbing. When I called to ask questions before booking an appointment I was totally impressed by the information the office staff was able to provide and the additional tips they offered for me to consider when purchasing our new sink. I booked the appointment and from that point forward they never disappointed me. Kevin was very professional and again gave us strong advice. He got our old water softener functioning enough to carry us through until the new one could be ordered and installed. In order to install the new sink we selected, our granite countertops would need to be trimmed. Kevin recommended a stone supplier to do this for us (who by the way did a fantastic job - see other review). After the granite was altered, Kevin came back to install the sink. He was not satisfied with the clips that came with the sink, so he got a different style and didn't charge us any additional. We also asked if he was able to get a stainless steel water tap to match our new faucet and sink (no hardware stores sell these) and he was able to and came a third time to put on the new clips and install the water tap. By the time all of this work was completed, Kevin was at our house three times, but the original quote never changed, beyond additional materials at our request. I have high expectations and was really pleased with everything Kevin did for us. It is a relief to have found our new plumber!

We have used Stephens for all of our plumbing needs for over 20 years. They have done everything from drain cleaning, toilet maintenance, water pipe replacement, hot water heater replacement, furnace maintenance to bathroom remodeling. They are extremely reliable and responsive. All of the service people we've had in our house have been friendly and professional. On this particular visit, they had to clean the heat exchanger coils in my hot water furnace. I had been wood wooking without a dust collection system and the saw dust had gotten pretty thick on the coils. They had to dissemble parts of the furnace to get them cleaned. Given the time they spent working on this I considered the cost very reasonable.

I had found water on the floor while doing laundry which appeared to be coming from under the wall.Rich removed the dryer and opened a small area of the wall.He found that the c/o plug was crossthreaded and would leak anytime I used any water in the house and had caused water damage. He made sure it worked properly. He cleaned up everything and replaced the dryer. I asked him to look at two toilets which he did gladly.He was very helpful with some other questions Rich was fantastic and I will use this company for any future plumbing needs. In fact,I plan to get anestimate from them for a bathroom remodel.

Their service is always excellent. The plumbers always know what they are doing. They clean up well and their work is always neat. We have used them for 10 years and have always been satisfied.

I have been pleased with Stephen's Plumbing and Heating. I have heard rumors they tend to be on the high end, but I don't know that as a fact. I trust them and if I need a plumber they would probably be the ones I would call even if they might be on the high end because I do trust them.

They do excellent work. They are very punctual and they’re very knowledgeable. I would recommend them to others.

Very prompt and quick to resolve issue. They also identified that we had a back-pitched pipe which was causing the back-up.

They were reliable, did what was needed to fix the problem,explained what was going on, and were neat. We called them to come back in on several different occasions for different problems. We have an older house, and have needed plumbers before, this is the first company that we have trusted enough to call back in.

We had a leak in the floor drain in an upstairs bathroom that caused water damage to the ceiling below in two spots. Sections of the ceiling needed to be removed to detect where the leak was located. Chip fixed the problem and replaced the floor drain. An additional bathroom on the upper floor also needed to be recaulked and a new cylinder was needed for a shower faucet. Chip was very professional and he did a great job. This was our first time using Stephen's Plumbing and we were happy with the work and technician.
