Stephens Plumbing returned my Saturday morning call and came by just 2 hours later. They rodded the drains and uncovered a larger problem whihc required a separate contractor to fix a collapsed sewer under the stree. Stephens came back after the sewer was repaired and rodded again. We uncovered additional problems from a poorly done DIY project that prior owners undertook. Stephens will do the work to fix that problem as well. All along Brian and the staff have been helpful, courteous, informative and professional. They bring the home owner into the conversation and explain all options. Prices are higher than others but the peace of mind they bring with their experience, knowledge and responsiveness is worht it.

getting ready to go to sleep at 10 p.m. on a Friday evening and looked in the basement and saw water. Went down and found the sump pump not working and water backing into the basement. i called my regular plumber and found he doesn't do off hours work so I called Stephens based on their reputation and reviews on Angies List. Rich called back quickly and was here in less than an hour. He found almost immediately that the switch was gone and he was able to bypass and get the water out of the basement. He then replaced the pump and neatly cleaned up after himself. Now this is at 1:30 a.m and he had worked all day but still had that attention to detail. It wasn't cheap; had to pay OT rates, and we both forgot the Angies List coupon, but I will call them again - nice work and very responsive (and no more water in my basement)

Two bathrooms fully remodeled in one month on schedule and on budget!

I called because the pipes in my bathroom were leaking, and someone came out immediately. This is the second time we've used Stephens Plumbing and have been very happy each time.

Called Stephens Plumbing after reading the positive reviews on here. My kitchen sink is clogged and my attempts to unclog it haven't been successful. Spoke with a lady on the phone and she told me that Glendale Heights is out of their service area. When I mentioned that I worked just down the road from them, (for almost 14 years) and it was about a 15-20 minute drive, I was told that they are a small company and have a small service area. She double checked with a dispatcher and confirmed that they won't come out to Glendale Heights. Their website says: "Stephens Plumbing and Heating, Inc. is proud to serve Downers Grove, Darien, Burr Ridge, Clarendon Hills, Lisle, Naperville, Oak Brook, Plainfield, Westmont, Wheaton and Woodrige. We also provide expert plumbing and heating services for Chicago, DuPage and Cook County." So, I then must assume that the last sentence is not accurate and they will only service the cities listed.

Nick is a very professional plumber. He explained clearly what was done and why it was important to have the work performed in line with existing residential codes. I will recommend him without hesitation.

We had a new range but needed a gas shut off behind the stove so sears wouldn't install it,. The plumber quickly took care of both of these. Then he knocked around in my basement for a long time peering at the plumbing to see if he could install a water line for a refrigerator.He was very professional and courteous.

They made sure that everything was okay. They have been taking care of my furnace and my plumbing needs for 15 years. They replaced two furnaces for me, 18 months ago. I find them to be efficient and trustworthy. They come out whenever I have a problem. They explain things to me. If they give me a price, it does not vary. They are a little more expensive than some, but I know they will do the job right the very first time. I have them come out twice a year. They do preventative maintenance work for me. Their price is slightly higher than the others. I will continue to use them in the future.

We called Stephen's and they sent John out within a half an hour on a Saturday morning. He found the problem and replaced the part within 5 minutes. He took the time to explain how it all worked and what he was doing. He was courteous and friendly, and made sure everything was working properly before he left. I cannot say enough about this company. They have helped me out with mostly plumbing issues in the past. Today was the first time I had used them to repair my furnace. They rock!

I had used them previously and they had done a good job. I am having them come out tomorrow to check my furnace and humidifier. I was very pleased, overall. They were able to schedule me faster and come out right away on Monday.

He wanted $90.00 to come out whether he did the work or not. No service was performed because he would not come to my home, which is only about 5 miles from his business to give me a free estimate. Needed a shut off valve replaced and a toilet repaired. I didn't want to have to pay $90.00 and not have any work done. I felt there are a million plumbers out there and I'm sure I can find one with an A rating to come and give me a free estimate. So, I did NOT use his services.

Stephens made two visits. My experience with correcting a leak in one shower was positive so I called Stephen to have the trim kit installed. Scheduling was easy. Plumber called before arriving, arrived on time and completed the job efficiently. He also explained what needed to be done, provided an estimate of time and cost and comlpeted the job within those estimates. I would not hesitate to use again.

Called in the morning and plumber arrived about 2 PM. Plumber had to cut old PVC pipe to loosen a glued connector. New drain pipe was then installed. Took about 3/4 of an hour. A satisfactory experience and will use them again.

Very well. They made sure that all tree roots were removed and pushed out to the main, which was about 80 feet. They were very thorough and the price was very reasonable for the amount of time spent fixing the problem.

It went very well. He arrived on time, checked with me about the problem, and checked everything and made repairs. This cost $165. Later in the next day I found another small leak and called. He returned the day after the call and fixed the problem. He then charged about $30 which would have been the charge if he had fixed it the same day.

The plumbing service person arrived shortly after we called the afternoon before Thanksgiving when we were worried that no one would be available. He was very professional in diagnosing the plugged up kitchen sink and gave us information on how we might be able to do fix this ourselves next time and how we might avoid the problem entirely. He did this in about 15 minutes and we were happy to pay the minimum charge, especially given the date. We would not hesitate to use Stephens the next time we need plumbing service.

Stephens was prompt at returning the call and setting up an appt. He came when he said he would. He was professional and courteous. However, his quote was twice what the others were and seemed like it was rounded to the nearest $1000 instead of true well-thought-out quote. His suggestions on how he would do the work seemed to be the hardest and time consuming ways to do it. He wanted to sound like he was the "expert" but he really came off sounding like a "know it all" who actually knew very little. I would not (and did not) use him. I got the work done by someone else far cheaper, and it was very well done.

I called and had an appointment 2 weeks later-busy season. Jeff called before he arrived and introduced himself at the door. I took him to the basement for the furnaces and noticed he had a vacuum with him. The previous contractors never brought a vacuum, and were finished in about 15 mins for both furnaces. Jeff was in my home for 2 hours cleaning contacts, hoses, filters, and things I never knew about. I inquired about the filters (I had a few questions about substitutes) and he answered to my satisfaction. The furnaces are running optimally now and I feel like I really received value for my payment. This is not the first time I have used Stephens Plumbing and Heating and I will continue to use Stephens. I am very happy with their work.

They were here 3 times. The first guy came and I am not sure it was their fault but he cleaned it and that did not fix the issue. I called them back and they found a problem with the main circuit board. That did not fix the issue since it was still not staying on. They came back out and they repaired a valve in the furnace that allowed the gas to come into the furnace. This fixed the issue. I found them to be responsive to my calls so when I called them they were out the same day.

A malfunction in our water softener resulted in a flood in our basement laundry room. Stephens responded promptly and reconfigured the piping to install a shut off valve above the area where the new softener would be installed by Culligan. They also installed a new shorter water heater to improve the access to our dryer. When the Culligan installer arrived he was very impressed with the prepatory work done by Stephens. NOTE that we have previously used Stephens to do a full remodel of our kitchen and they did a fantastic job. They are always extremely professional and courteous and are happy to answer questions or explain the work process. The work area is always left clean overnight and ready for the job to begin the next day.

I don't know how much longer I am going to live in this house, and 2 years ago units were on the fritz. This company kept them going until I had no choice and had to replace them. Both units were 35 years old.

Another company spent 6 hours trying to fix it. Steve came in and solved the problem in 5 minutes.

Punctual, courteous, thoroughly cleaned, made sure units operated well.

Everything went great. No further problems. Would definitely use them again.
