Description of Work: I called for an estimate and the owner showed up on time. He was very professional in his sales pitch. I let him know up front that I was very capable of installing the back splash and that I would do it if the price didn't meet my expectations. Upon receiving the quote I was floored. In the slick brochure he left, it indicted an hourly rate of $88.00 which means the job was estimated to take 12+ manhours to complete. Upon further inspection, the estimate included wet saw rental etc. That was the capper for me in rejecting the proposal -- does a mechanic directly change for doing work that requires special tools?

I pulled the estimate that our office had sent to you which not only included installation of 40' of backsplash but also included some grout work, install shims around 9 switch boxes/receptacles, & install cover plates. Our estimates include labor, van stock, service charge and in your case disposal as well. We recently hired a part time CSR to help with typing of estimates and unfortunately we, the owners had to go out of town for an emergency for 1 day. The estimate was sent to you prior to me checking it and you are correct, no rental should have been charged to you. Our company does not charge for tools that we own. I apologize that this occurred and am willing to take an additional $100 off of your estimate to show you that I am sincere. This would take your estimate from $1,057.00 to $ 957.00. Description of Work: Installed half a bannister, newel post, rail, and spindles. Also repaired the ceiling in the master bathroom. Did an excellent job on both projects! Would highly recommend Mr. Handyman!!

Description of Work: Asked for a bid to power wash and stain my deck in Godfrey. They asked for dimensions, # of steps and rails which I provided. Nine days later, they called for the same info. They never sent anyone out. Then I received a call that someone would be out next Monday (21 days after initial request). I called another contractor , had a bid within 6 hours and the work will be completed in two days. The staff at Mr. Handyman aren't organized and don't communicate with each other or their clients. Bad news

Upon the call from customer, we were asked to provide an estimate for a bathroom remodel that needed done asap so you could get your tenant back into the apartment. We came in and performed exactly what was asked of us! Our technicians did ask if you would like the drywall/painting done and you informed them that the entire basement needed drywall and we could work around the tenants once they moved back in. (we put together and provided you an estimate for the drywall and painting). We never received an acceptance on the second estimate that we provided to you. Upon us following up on the outstanding estimate, you had informed us that you had already hired another company to perform the drywall/painting. I am sorry that you feel we did not offer the above services when in fact we did.

Everything went very well.
Description of Work: The technician was punctual, courteous and most importantly very knowledgeable. He installed a new faucet in our bathroom sink in an hour, then did some other work that we needed him to do.
