+ -1 moreSam and his team of professionals were friendly and respectful of what we knew and what we didn't know. Sam came in and gave us an estimate for the services rendered. He started on the day he said he was going to start. He came when he said he was going to come. His demo crew placed tarps on the ground and he got to work. Sam was very knowledgeable about his field, it was like talking to a living wiki-pedia, he walked us through the project from beginning to end. He foresaw potential problems and he warned us when we got overzealous about staying on budget. He did an excellent job and he kept us close to budget. He and his team are skillful,knowledgeable,trustworthy and have great customer service skills. What's not to like? I would recommend him to anyone that needed a project done.Not sure what PLS stands for but it should stand for: P-Pleasant L-Listener S-Skillfull All the characteristics you want in a remodeling company.

+ 1 moreAfter finding PLS on the site I contacted Sam and he responded immediately. He came to my home as scheduled and gave what I believed to be a fair estimate for the work. We agreed to the time and date that the service would be performed. Sam arrived on time and completed the job as promised. Sam looked at the job, explained what needed to be done and how much it would cost. He did what he said he would do and that's all you can ask for. And he left the work area as clean or cleaner than when he arrived. I highly recommend PLS.

Description of Work: Wanted to have bathroom tile put down. Provider came out to my house, reviewed the job and said he would provide an estimate that evening. I did not receive and called him 2 days later. He said he would try and get to it in a couple days as he was busy.

Description of Work: Nothing. Owner is very personable on the phone and a great sales person. He came prepared to do the job when I asked for an estimate for the removal of three sections of drywall. His price was far above the going rate. He stated he has to charge more to cover his cost of advertising on Angie's List. He refused to honor his coupon on Angie's list for 3 hours of work for $100.00. Very disappointing experience and a waste of my valuable time.

+ 2 moreThe carpenter arrived in a timely manner. He assessed the work and determined that we needed to go to the local hardware store to buy some additional materials. Upon arriving back at the house he went straight to work and finished the job quickly.
Description of Work: The carpenter repaired the door-frame between my garage and my house; he also re-attached a hand-rail on the stairs leading from my den to the living room. Finally, the carpenter patched some damaged areas in my dry wall.

I was able to unlock the unit for him, have him make as much progress in the alloted time as possible, and he locked up behind him when he was done. The work he did was to patch some irregularities in the plaster in a vintage unit, and I'm still happy with the work he did.

Description of Work: Working with Sam O'Neill was a dream! I couldn't have asked for a better contractor! My husband and I looked high and low for someone to do a complete remodel on two bathrooms. Thanks to Angies List, I found Sam. From the very beginning, Sam helped us make decisions on every aspect of the project. His expertise and experience were soon apparent in what turned out to be two beautiful, modern bathrooms. Believe me, before he made his magic, those bathrooms were old-fashioned, worn-out and ready to go! Thanks to Sam, it's all brand-new and beautiful. Both bathrooms were complete demos and complete remodels. He took out all the walls, the floors and ceilings. He replaced sinks, toilets and the shower. He did a beautiful job putting up the glass tiles around my mirror in the master bath and the new ceramic tile on the floor and in the shower area. The same in the other bathroom; new ceramic tile floor, wainscotting on the walls and a great paint job! Just beautiful! Before hiring Sam, we got two other estimates; Sam's was the best of the three offers. He did everything according to his estimate and came in within our budget. You got to love a contractor who can stand behind his estimate, come in on budget and and accomplish everything within the promised timeline! We're planning on asking Sam to remodel our kitchen next. We just can't thank him enough for being a conscientious contractor and a great guy to work with.

Description of Work: Sam, the carpenter came out to measure my doors, and the doors that I bought. He decided that the doors that I bought would not fit. He spent about a hour measuring and assessing the job. We decided to go to Menards to look at some doors. Menards didn't have the color that I wanted, so I decided that I would go to home depot. Sam left, and I went on to Home Depot to look at some doors. I found the doors, and the color that I wanted. I contacted Sam and told him that I found the doors, got a print out with the measurements, and faxed the papers to Sam. I waited a couple of days, called Sam to find out if he had received the fax. Sam, responded by telling me that he had received the fax, but had not looked at the measurements yet, and that he would give me a call in a couple of hours. It has been a week, and I haven't heard from him. I am now looking for another carpenter.

+ 1 moreWe called Sam because of the high marks he received on Angie’s List. He was very busy, but made time to meet with us right away. We were interested in turning one long bathroom into two smaller bathrooms, a large, complicated project. Sam looked over everything very carefully and recorded measurements. He also spent a little time telling us what to expect from a contractor. Sam wasn’t sure the project could be done the way we’d sketched it out, but he went home to strategize. He emailed a couple of days later as promised to tell us yes, it could be done. He included a detailed proposal and estimate of costs. Ultimately, we chose another contractor only because we got him on the recommendation of a family member. Sam’s estimate was very competitive, and he definitely inspired trust. If not for the family-recommended contractor. Sam would have been our man.
Description of Work: Remodel one long bathroom into two small bathrooms, including building a new wall, building and tiling a shower, installing two toilets, two sinks and a new bathtub.
