Dispatch: rude, defensive, and not responsive. I called mid-morning to schedule an appointment. I was told there was availability from 12-4 that afternoon, so I scheduled the appointment for that day. I asked the dispatcher to call me when the tech was on the way. At 3.15, I hadn't heard anything, so I called. I was informed that "My guys are all in Lincolnshire, and they're running late, but they will get out there." I asked if that was possible, since Overhead's hours are 12-4-- I just wanted to make sure that they were going to show up. "AS I SAID, they are in Lincolnshire," was the response. I said if they can be here today, let's keep the appointment, PLEASE call when they are on their way. When I called back at 4.15, I was told they were on their way and would be there in 20 mins. That's fine, but what happened to calling? I asked twice. I didn't think it was that unusual of a request. Service: tech was great. Inspected the garage door, found some corroded wires, checked the rollers, worm gear, lift gear, etc and got everything working in about 30 minutes. Very friendly, nice guy. Would have him come out again. The firm gets a "B" rating because he was very good; they'd get a "D" otherwise.

No problems, the tech was nice and told me what he felt about the condition of the door. Didn't try to sell me anything.

Everything turned out fine. We ended up doing the installation ourselves due to the cost comparison but they were very helpful and went over how much it would cost for the installation.

Better than I ever expected. Scott was courteous, professional and informative. He took the time to explain the opener's functions.no Ned to ever call a different company in the future if needed.

Overall, it went fine. Unfortunately, upon inspection, there were a number of issues found with the operation of the garage door and some maintenance that needed to be done. We chose to go with another provider for those issues as we were hopeful this would only be a "tune-up" rather than what ended up being an overhaul.

Quick and straightforward service call. He was honest, did the work quickly, and was on his way. No complaints!

The price difference that I paid was because I opted to have him relocate the sensors that the previous owner had placed on the rafters instead of where they were supposed to be placed. The experience was positive and I would use them again in the future. The price was affordable and a good value.

The original quote went great! The guy that came out really knew the business. (My doors originally had side springs, which I hated.) His understanding of the new technology that is now available, allowed Overhead Door to install the new doors without the side springs. Matt, the installer was great. He took a lot of pride in what he was doing ands did a really nice job. I had an issue with a call back technician. But it was late in the day and maybe he had a rough day. Fantastic. They were nice on the phone. Scheduled a call for the next day. The tech, Mark, arrived promptly and called 20 min before arrival to let me know he was on the way. Installation was pretty quick. He explained everything. I would definitely recommend this company again. Their price was good. I got quote from another company on Angie's list, and they quoted $430+ for the same $385 installation service.

The service was simple, easy and painless to schedule. No grueling phone calls. I simply told them through the form what days I was available and they were able to meet one of my choices. Service was prompt, with a call ahead from the repairman. He was friendly and didn't try to upsell when I mentioned an issue with my controls on the wall for the garage door. He gave us informative information about the springs and even mentioned the possible cost (something to safe up for). I would totally use Overhead Garage Door again.

Service man was as cold as ice ... had an appointment window of 8 to 10 he arrived 10 mins early and called from my alley to say he was there I said oh your early ...which was great but I was still getting dressed and he was like only 10 minutes in a snotty tone ... but he did his job as fast as you could and was gone ... I believe it was what I ordered a check and tune and I got it ... Just a nicer world when people come to the table with a plasant personality

It went very well. The tech was very professional and knowledgeable. He checked the door and let me know what was wrong. There was no pressure at all to do anything additional but I had him replace some rusty cable. He replaced them and showed me that they would not have lasted much longer so the service was just in time. He let me know how old the unit was and how long they last. I was very happy with the service.

He showed up, he fixed it and he left. Not much more to say.

Every company in the country should take lessons in customer service from this company. The technician, Scott B., both in July (when I had new springs and a garage door opener installed) and today (when a generally unrelated issue needed work) was professional, friendly and took the time to explain the problem and his plan to fix it. He goes above and beyond that which is required to satisfy a customer. I would recommend this company to anyone who has an issue with a garage door.

I'm taking care of my sister's house, and the garage door - while relatively new - had not been used regularly for 5-6 years, and had been somewhat cranky. After I bought the deal, I was contacted by Overhead Garage Door very quickly, asking for several dates for service. We set up an appointment for the following Friday. The service tech, Hank I believe, arrived about in the middle of the schedule window, after calling before arriving. He was cheerful, professional and quite informative about what he was doing and answered my questions. He also realigned the door sensor and explained how I could adjust it myself. He also explained that the company was trying to expand their service area to the northwest side, and that he would likely be the technician on such calls because he lived in the neighborhood. While it turned out that the door didn't require much adjustments, I was quite satisfied with the service call, and would call Overhead Garage Doors for future service needs - at my sister's house or my own.
