Description of Work: My landlord suggested we use this firm. When I called whomever (owner I believe) answered was very disinterested. We were having hot water issues and he kept saying the tank is too small. Possibly, but how about come take a look? We had a list of other issues too. He asked me to email detailed photos of each problem, which I did. He said he would call to schedule. That was two weeks ago and we are still waiting on a call. Awful.

Description of Work: Made the appointment with Jan, then George came and did the work, reseating a toilet. As always, they do terrific work. You get what you pay for.

Description of Work: I used them two times. Once to replace a food disposal and to put in new kitchen faucet. Both times pleased with work and repairman.

Description of Work: Vanguard performed the work needed (replacement of toilet wax ring and installation of a new tank flush kit)in a professional manner and cleaned the entire area upon completion of the project. The price was fair and I was more than satisfied with the experience. This was the second time have I used this company.

Description of Work: Vanguard has done work for us on many occasion, in two separate homes of ours. A few jobs that have accomplished well: -repairing/replacing a hose and connector to a bathroom faucet that was only receiving cold water -installing a new ejector pump -repair a sump pump - other minor plumbing repairs

Description of Work: They are pricey but competent. I called them in to fix a plugged toilet. They discovered that the problem wasn’t fixable and I needed a new toilet. In the meantime they checked the plumbing and found that stand line needed to be replaced. I told them to fix it and take care of any other piping that was below standard. They were very thorough and competent but pricey. If I have similar work in the future, I will consider them.

Description of Work: I had a leaky faucet they repaired. Before that, they had replaced a garbage disposal. I thought they were very efficient, polite, and clean. They cleaned up their mess and put everything back.

Description of Work: I called Vanguard to investigate low water pressure in our bathroom shower. They discovered a lot of debris in both the line and pressure balance valve since the lines had not been properly flushed during a recent reno. They cleaned out the valve, flushed the lines, and normal water pressure was restored and we were happy with that part of the service. While there, we also asked Vanguard to look at our kitchen faucet which also had very low water pressure. We were told the size of piping used (also part of the recent reno) was to blame for the lack of pressure, so we left it as is. | |Fast forward 2 years later, we had a clog in our kitchen sink and asked another plumber to investigate low pressure in that same kitchen faucet while clearing the clog. Turns out that there was quite a bit of debris (some quite large) in the supply lines which he easily flushed to restore normal water pressure in the faucet. | |So while I was generally satisfied with the services we originally asked Vanguard to perform, I question their assessment of our kitchen faucet which could have been a simple fix had they taken the time to assess further.

Description of Work: Repaired faucet leak. The cold water supply hose was replaced. The work was performed exceptionally well. The problem was clearly explained to me, and all my questions were answered. I will certainly use this company again. I highly recommend Vanguard Plumbing.

Description of Work: They replaced injector pump. They were fantastic, after a brief description over the phone, they knew immediately what the issue was and provided a proposal. I responded over a weekend and they were out immediately on that Monday. The plumber was professional and did great work, I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a plumber in Chicago.

Description of Work: Vanguard removed a toilet that was leaking. They recommended replacing the original old wooden floor with tile. We have contacted someone about replacing the floor, but have not been able to finish the work yet as two far more serious projects arose in our 100+ year old house. Vanguard was wonderful, and we will follow-up and finish the floor soon, after the larger and more urgent projects have been completed.

Description of Work: Jan responded within 24 hours to my question of whether they provided services to the southside of Chicago. Unfortfunately they do not service my area but was kind enough to provide suggestion for finiding another service provider which I thought was very kind.
