Very well. Tony was very helpful, followed up the evening before to confrm. The two movers dispatched were punctual and very pleasant to work with. They really handled everything very smoothly. I knew that the entertainment center ("the beast") would be really tough to handle as it was coming down from the fourth level but they handled well. I was very happy with how things went.

Overall, experience was great. I actually booked with them because of their responsiveness, price and professionalism but had to cancel for unrelated reasons. They were very understanding about it (especially considering I booked during "busy" time of the month) - and I would definitely consider using them again.

Everything went great - we were in a bit of a pinch as we had to change our move date last minute. Under One Roof was very accommodating, and we figured out a way to make it happen. The guys worked efficiently but also made sure that nothing was damaged, and were very professional about the whole deal. From a price standpoint, they basically have an hourly charge with a driving fee - no fees per roll of tape or other ways some companies nickel and dime you.

They did a good job. They were very conscientious. They tried very hard and nothing was broken.

The overall experience was really great. The movers arrived on time, were nice and professional, worked quickly and did a good job. As soon as I opened the storage locker, they assured me the job wasn't going to take long at all. The move out of the storage unit was extremely fast (I didn't even have the chance to go to starbucks and get a coffee and they were already done). When we arrived at the apartment, we ran into a little complication when the couch would not fit in the door. The movers did a fabulous job in problem-solving and were able to successfully get the couch into the apartment with no damage done. I was given price quotes from other places that were much higher and were anticipating the move would take 4 hours. Under one roof got the job done in half that time with professionalism and care.

Excellent experience! Everything went as well or better than I had expected. No time was wasted. The entire job took only 2.5 hours from beginning to end. About a year ago I used Golan’s Moving & Storage (also in Angie’s list) to move the exact same items as was moved by Under One Roof. I never wrote an Angie’s report on them since at the time, I didn’t have anyone to compare them with. While Golan’s employees were nice it took them forever to wrap the furniture. I realize that wrapping is important and that it keeps furniture protected. Still, there is a point of overkill and Golan’s wrapping and protecting greatly exceeded what was required or desired. I think Golan’s employees thought they were wrapping King Tut!!! Granted, there were certain extra things Golan had to do with my furniture that Under One Roof didn’t. Perhaps Golan’s should have taken 3.5 hours compared to Under One Roof’s 2.5. It took Golan’s TEN (10) hours to move the same stuff a shorter distance. Ninety percent of the extra time was due to too much wrapping and taping. It ended up costing me about three times what Under One Roof charged. Under One Roof’s employees were very friendly and cooperative. Tony (the boss) was very nice over the phone. The movers, Jose (the leader), Steve, and Roberto wanted to make sure everything was done to my satisfaction. They wrapped everything securely without over-wrapping. What a great crew! I couldn’t be happier with this company.

I scheduled two movers to unload a studio apartment's worth of furniture into a high rise apartment. I only had a two hour move-in window, and they showed up right on time. They were nice guys, and made the move very easy.

The guys who moved the furniture were extremely friendly and worked very quickly. They wrapped up our furniture with blankets and tapes very carefully, and didn't charge for the tape or wrapping (which some companies do). However, the whole positive experience was overshadowed by the fact that they brought a truck that was far too small to hold everything--even though we told them how much stuff we had to move. Because of this, they wanted to take two trips to carry everything, where we would have had to pay them to sit in traffic for a few hours. We opted to move the rest of the things ourselves, which turned our moving day into an all-day affair. I'd still recommend using them, but if you do, you should exaggerate how much stuff you have to move and so maybe they will send the right-sized truck.

Other than a minor mix-up on the start time, everything went extremely well. The workers were friendly, professional and worked efficiently the whole time. They were careful to keep from damaging anything, and the only casualty from the move has been one glass that I didn't wrap adequately enough. The biggest challenge was moving my bulky treadmill through 4 doorways, and they did a fantastic job of figuring out the logistics of how to handle this. All in all, I couldn't have asked for more - moving is always a somewhat painful experience, but the team here made it as low stress of an experience as I could have hoped for. I would enthusiastically recommend them to anyone.

I would not use this provider/contractor. Getting a firm commitment to either state that they would be available or not available was difficult. Instead of simply stating their availability, it was a back and forth exercise and we were not informed until the last minute that "it would be pushing it" to get movers onsite for a move that was a week and a half out . This was a very frustrating experience and the surprise is only related to the positive reviews of this contractor. I expected better and more professional treatment. I think it's related to dollars as this is a rather small move. My advice to others; don't waste your time. They did offer to help me find someone else to do the move. Not exactly what we were looking for as we can do that on our own.

Tony, the person who answers the phone, is very nice and easy going. I rescheduled my move upteen times and he always tried to accomodate me, each time, without complaint. The men he hires work efficiently and have great attitudes.

We were very happy with our move. Under One Roof was one of four (highly rated) companies that we contacted about moving, and the smallest of the four. They were one of two companies that actually came out to do an estimate. One of our concerns with our move was that we'd been in the same place for THIRTEEN years and had packed our 800 sq ft apartment with much more stuff than you'd normally find in a two bedroom. We communicated this to all the companies we talked to. We ended up using Under One Roof because they were the only company that seemed to truly understand the nature of our particular job and how it would affect the final cost. Tony recommended that we use five men (all the other companies recommended four), and he made sure to have two trucks available. We really appreciated this because we've heard so many moving horror stories that began when the movers arrived and said, "Whoa, you have a lot of stuff; we're going to need another truck" and the price went up. Estimate was competitive with the other companies' estimates, even w/ five men. We also appreciated having two smaller trucks instead of one giant truck b/c of the layout of our alley: they were able to get the smaller truck close to the building without blocking access to our alley, which most companies do. Tony gave us 12 free boxes as promised in the Angie's List coupon listing. He'd also offered to sell us boxes at a wholesale price ($2 instead of $3 each). When we went to pick them up, he apologized, as he'd forgotten that we'd asked about that, and he didn't have the boxes on hand. However, he immediately offered to deliver the boxes the next day and then offered an even better solution: helping us find a wholesaler quite nearby who gave us an outstanding rate when we mentioned Tony's name. We ended up using 160 boxes so this saved a lot of time and money. On the day of the move, the moving team arrived within 15 minutes of the schedule start time. All of the men were courteous, professional, and good communicators. They worked very efficiently and were very careful with our belongings. They disassembled a number of pieces to protect shelves, etc, and did it very well. They were able to get all of our stuff out of our narrow stairway with no harm to the furniture or the walls. They even showed us how to repair an existing problem with a wobbly leg on our dining room table. There were a few items that they asked to take in our own car because they were either already broken (a small end table) or very delicate (a stained glass lamp shade), which was fine with us. They reassembled the larger pieces at our new home perfectly (we did have to put some shelves back ourselves for smaller items, but we preferred to do that rather than pay for their time). They came in UNDER their estimate, which was a nice surprise. All in all, a great experience. We would use them again in a heartbeat. Note: the $1550 does not include what we paid for tips.

I spoke with Tony a week before booking them just to get an estimate. When I finally decided to hire them, they were able to accommodate my time frame with no problem. Since I was not going to be around that day I arranged payment via credit card and he was fine with that. He and another mover arrived on time, moved all the stuff out quickly and efficiently. They delivered them in the same fashion. I was charged with the minimum 2 1/2 hours which was perfect. After everything was done, he called me to let me know that everything went according to plan. The people at each location also let me know that everything went smoothly. I would hire them again.

The two guys that came from Under One Roof were really good. The price was reasonable. The job only took two or three hours. The truck they used to move the belongings was clean. They were very efficient and they new exactly what they were doing. I will use their service again in the future if needed.

MIRACLE WORKERS! We were to move on 12/19, but the city was hit with a massive blizzard. We had to postpone. Extremely high stress! Tony and the co. took great care of us! We rescheduled for Tuesday 12/23. We wanted desperately to be out by Christmas. They made it happen! ANOTHER SNOW STORM hit, with significant accumulation starting in the wee hours. The road had barely been cleared from the last storm, and at least 3ft of plowed snow lined our tight, one-way street with cars parked on both sides. Despite this, 3 movers arrived with a 24ft truck promptly that morning (the truck Tony recommended was just the right size, as was the number of movers needed). The best option would have been to park the truck in the alley behind the building, accessible through the backyard. All the neighbors were gone on holiday or at work. Our landlord was "unhelpful," and out of spite refused to allow the movers to park in the alley, even though the truck wouldn't block access to anyone. There was a confrontation. The landlord was overtly hostile, but the movers kept their composure and professionalism, and explained they had to protect their client and this was the best possible solution. The landlord threatened to call the police if they used the alley, and we did not want a war, though the movers were well within legal right to park there. We opted instead to use the front of the building as originally planned. Three car lengths in front of our building had been reserved through the city days in advance. Because of the two storms, only two cars had been able to get out. A third was snowed in. In order to safely load the truck, the crew needed an opening in the snow banks, which were more than 3ft high and icy. Because of the third car, the path we had cleared was blocked. A less dedicated, less expert crew would have given up, but these guys turned a 24-ft truck 180? around on a tight, one-way street in the middle of a storm and pulled in facing traffic to access another opening in the snowbank. Our new building has strict restrictions on elevator access for moving, and we had a window of but a few hours. They loaded more than 40 boxes and furniture inside of three hours, plus packed our paintings and framed art, precious lamps, and large breakables. Up and down two flights of stairs in a tight old stairwell. It was sleeting on them as they loaded the truck. The crew was fantastic! They risked their personal safety with huge boxes on their backs, but never flinched or complained. We laid salt several times, but it was treacherous. Everything arrived securely before our time at the new building expired. They unloaded the truck like lightening at the dock and up and down the small residential elevator (no freight elevator), large pieces through tight spaces, scratching nothing. I can't imagine worse moving conditions. If anything had gone wrong, we might never have made it. You won't find more dedicated, honest, reasonable, professional movers. They saved us!

They showed up on time, they were really good at what they did and very pleasant. If moving is ever a good experience, this was it. They charged us the price they said they would. When my husband and I move we will hire them.

They packed up an apartment, moved furniture and boxes down two flights of stairs to the truck, and then unloaded at another location. Very professional, hard working and great price!

Horrible! We got the "D" team. It was an easy move...from second story condo to the garage down below. They showed up on time...great start and they were nice. However, this was an hourly move and it took them six hours to move stuff down to my garage...horrible! We moved WITH A DIFFERENT COMPANY the same stuff from our Lakeview Garage to Naperville for within $100 of the cost it took to move my stuff to the garage. (Had to store for three weeks in garage as old closing was before new closing). Would not recommend again. They milked it big time. Broke a few items and were just generally lousy.

There were two guys who did the job. They arrived very quickly. They did a great job of packaging up all the stuff that we were unable to before they got there. We had to make two stops and they arranged everything well, so we were done an hour and half before we thought we would be. They were very courteous and professional. I would use them again for a small to medium move.

The docks at the Mart weren't available when Under One Roof arrived but they called me to let me know, and waited for space to get their truck in. Everything went very smoothly and we were happy with their professionalism/
