The experience was great. Mike explained the entire process to us from start to finish. He was prompt and completed the report on time. He also did a great job of setting expectations up front given the current real estate market. He was able to do the appraisal on a Sunday which also worked well with our time frame.

Mike was very friendly. He came to my house and thoroughly explained what he was going to do. He took some pictures and asked about any recent upgrades. He then went back and figured out the appraisal and emailed it to me. He did a fantastic job. I will definitely use Mike again and recommend him to friends and family.

Everything was smooth as silk. We spoke on the phone and Mike was professional and honest. We asked to rush the appraisal and offered to pay a little extra due to the timing of our situation. Mike was professional, prompt, and did everything he said he would. We would definitely use him again.

Mike was very accomodating of our schedule to perform the appraisal and completed the report when he said he would. The appraisal was done on a Thursday and I had the report on Monday. He patiently answered all our questions. We were very pleased with the whole experience. Thanks Mike!

I contacted Mike after looking at the current reports and seeing satisfactory reviews. We set up an appointment, for the following Tuesday. The appointment was for 11:00am, Mike called me at 10:20 to let me know he was running slightly behind. He made it about 15 minutes late. I was very impressed with his professionalism and relaxed style. He took all the pertinent information and assured me he would have the appraisal emailed to me within a couple of days. I received it Thursday as promised and was happy with his overall work. It would be a stretch to say I was happy with the appraisal value but that was not Mike's fault. I looked over the comps and other info in the appraisal and it bore out his conclusion. I think that's what you should want in an appraiser, the facts so you can make the correct decisions as to what you can reasonably expect from a bank or buyer.

We were looking to get a fair and unbiased appraisal on our property in Andersonville. After checking through Angie's list reviews, we decided to give Mike a call. As it turns out, Mike knows our area very well, give a very fair price for the appraisal and we hired him. Mike did a very thorough job with the appraisal. It's a thoroughly filled out document complete with detailed pictures. It's everything that we wanted. Mike is also very kind to answer all the questions we had. If I had another property, I'd be happy to use Mike again.

Mike did an excellent job. He responded to my first phone inquiry right away and went out and actually performed the appraisal within days of my initial call. Because he is so very familiar with the area in Chicago that the house is in, Mike was able to give us a great deal of information about the location, the real estate values and the current market trend for selling and renting. The actual appraisal was in our email account within 3 days of the appraisal. Great turn around time. He even sent so far as to later send me a picture and stats on a comparable property. Went very well. Mike was able to work with my schedule to meet on a day that I was available. He called to let me know that he was running a few minutes late and showed up as expected Went through the building while he asked some questions and took some measurements. Report was very detailed and went through both the expected sales price and expected rental estimates of the different floors. Great Job.

Mike was very puntual in returning my call for the home appraisal estimate and was able to work with my schedule to come and perform the estimate on a Sunday. Mike and his wife arrived promptly on the scheduled date and appraised our home. They were professianal. They did not want the plat of survey or home detail brochure that we had got when we bought our house. I was a bit surprised to see them complete the survey in less than half an hour and they collected their fee and left with the promise to provide the appraisal by Tuesday 4/12 at the latest. This is where their service got bad and they missed their Tuesday date and when I called they said that they are still working on it and will get me report on Wednesday. I got their report e-mailed to me just before midnight on Wednesday. The report has several errors regarding my home square footage (not sure if that matters) but I was expecting more accurate information. There was no follow-up call from them.

Mike is great. He knows the city and understands how to go about an appraisal for the purposes of a tax appeal. He provided me with so much helpful information as well as a very fair and astute appraisal. It was an extremely fair price - and a pleasant and educational experience overall. Will definitely recommend him to my neighbors and will use TYKE again in the future.

During an initial phone call and brief discussion I retained Tyke Inc. to do an appraisal of some residential property. Mike showed up and was very professional and informative discussing the entire process that would ensue. After asking me some questions, he visually observed, measured and sketched the entire inside and outside of the house. He also took photos. He indicated he would perform the necessary research and have my completed appraisal to me within a week. I received the appraisal in less than a week and was very pleased with the results. Comparable properties were included with technical adjustments for differences to my property that affects its value. Although I had never required or seen a real estate appraisal before, it was easy to look at the appraisal and understand how it was calulated and the bottom line. Mike did an excellent job and I would highly recommend his company for any real estate appraisal you may need.

I called several appraisers. Mike had the best rate and turn around time. I told him the reason I wanted the appraisal and he got it. He delivered a quality appraisal and addressed my concerns. I was pleased overall.

They were fine. They had quick availability. They are good and I felt I got a fair appraisal. The price was reasonable.

Mike was very professional and prompt and provided great insight on ways we could increase the value based on the comps he provided. There were areas in the appraisal we received from him that were unclear and asked Mike to explained to us what those area meant. Mike was great in explaining the details of the appraisal. He also provided an appraisal on our home based on ?as is?, which helped us in our decision on our renovation project.

Here in Chicagoland we have a fairly insane way of assessing real estate for tax purposes, whereby improvements are heavily taxed in order to subsidize land speculators. I felt that my house was assessed too high relative to other properties, but found it difficult to document that, due to insufficient recent sales in the neighborhood. Mike took a more professional approach, prepared a formal assessment, with comparables, documenting a value considerably below the Assessor's imagination. I used that as the basis of my assessment appeal. Mike was easy to work with, understood and respected the deadline I faced. It will be months before I know whether my appeal was successful, but Mike certainly provided helpful information. UPDATE April 24 2011: The Assessor was unpersuaded by Mike's appraisal, so I appealed to the Board of Review. They were more reasonable, and (just last week) ordered the Assessor to reduce my assessment to be consistent with Mike's appraisal. This will save me thousands of dollars during 2011-13. Maybe by 2013 the tax system will have been reformed so that we are not penalized for improving our properties.

Mike was prompt and efficient. He did very good research to identify solid comparable sales.

I needed my building appraised to finish up my mom's estate. Mike came out on date promised, performed the appraisal and was totally thorough. I liked the way he was able to help me make sense of what was needed, and how he was able to finish on time, and provide the information to me as quickly as possible.

He was professional and punctual. His communication was just great and he understood exactly what we needed.
