The Fix-It Guy Appliance Repair Chicago

I needed to install a peephole and knocker in my brand new steel door. It was a small job, but someone had to do it so I called The Fix It Guy. They usually require a minimum of two hours for a job, but in this case they only charged me for an hour, came promptly and did an excellent job. I couldn't be more pleased.

Had a dryer where the gas wasn't igniting to dry clothes. Robert Jr. spent time on the phone with me (on a Saturday) helping me diagnose the issue. On Monday Robert Sr. arrived at my house to repair, on-time & ready to go. He is so conscious of being in 'somebody's home' that he asked "should I enter the basement through the rear exterior entrance"? Professional & good-humored, he promptly got to the heart of the problem (a burned out fuse) and took the time to clean out lint that had gathered in the belly of the machine over the years. I would call these folks again & again for any issue I have (knock on wood the machines keep working:))

It didn't go at all. I don't appreciate not having phone calls returned, and having to look for another service. It was a waste of my time.

He came out and diagnosed the problem quickly and then fixed it.

Called about an issue I was having with a washer/dryer. He gave some advice that saved me some time and money! I appreciate him being a true professional and being able to diagnose the issue and not just coming out to make a few bucks. I would use him again.

The phone call was answered immediately; I didn't have to leave a voicemail. He was available within a few days and at reasonable times. He explained the charges upfront. He arrived within 10 minutes after the beginning of my window (5:10 PM on a Friday no less...my window began at 5PM). Funny, courteous, and personable. Diagnosed the problem quickly; fixed the problem quickly. He had the part in his car/truck. He was done in about 30 minutes. No mess. Billed my credit card with his phone; emailed me the receipt and he was out the door. Washer works again like a charm.

Our refrigerator was losing it's cool, literally, right before Christmas. I called the Fix it guy the Saturday before Xmas, and he was able to come first thing after the holiday. He diagnosed our refrigerator as having a frozen control panel right away, and said he'd have to get the parts. He came back as soon as they arrived and installed them in less than 20 minutes. He was very friendly and accommodating, and explained how the refrigerator operates and what went wrong and why. The cost was reasonable considering the entire control panel had to be replaced, as well as a few other wires that had been frozen and damaged. I would definitely use him again should any issues arise with our appliances.

Repair person was prompt and professional. Per my instructions, he called me with a quote prior to conducting the repair. I feel that their fees were reasonable. Overall very happy with the service.

We actually had to machines needing repair -- a front-loading washing machine with mold all over the seal and a dishwasher that wasn't draining. We called him, and let him know about the part needed for the washing machine. He came in a couple of days (at a pre-selected time) with the part in hand. He was done with both machines in 45 minutes. In addition, he gave some great easy advice on how to maintain the machines! We'll definitely call him for future repairs (though it'll be other machines!)

Overall, very good service was provided. I would recommend and use The Fix-it Guy again.

Very satisfactorily. The Fix-It Guy is a fatther and son team, Messrs. Wilson, junior and senior. Both were needed to move the washer ; Mr. wilson senior did most of the repair work. Both men are courteous and VERY prompt . Overall, while I hope I don't have another appliance malfunction, if I do, I'll call The Fix-It Guy immediately.

Called back right away. Very proffessional, and friendly. I had a washer that the temps were not right, and he told me that when it was installed the hoses were probably backwards. i checked and they were. 5 minute fix, and it was free since i did it myself. A shortsighted person would say he cheated himself out of a service call. I am sure his idea is that he gave away a service call to gain a customer, and free advertising that is far more valuable to a business than a single service call. Needless too say his company is the only one I will call in the future.

I noticed a puddle under my washing machine and feared the worst, so called The Fix It Guy. Robert came the next day and immediately ascertained that my problem was a leaking hose. He ordered the part and came the next day, a Saturday, to replace it expertly. He was personable and professional, and I will definitely call The Fix It Guy if I ever again have any similar problems.

Robert came out after we had called him to take a look at our washer/dryer, which was vibrating and making some really unfortunate noises. He answered the phone, on my first try to him, and we were able to schedule an appointment quickly. He came out when he said he would, found the problem quickly, and fixed it. What more can you ask for? I would definitely recommend Robert, as he accomplished exactly what we wanted to get done, quickly, and proficiently.

Robert picked up my initial Sunday phone call and promptly showed up at scheduled appointment time 48 hours later. He moves swiftly and professionally, got the job done without the need for parts. I liked his 'one hour ' appointment window and sense of 'fairness-trust' with the job and any need for parts, etc.. I highly recommend.

I had waited a week for another company, who didn't show up or call after the first no-show. The fix=it guy called right back, scheduled, and even came early. When I wasn't able to meet him that day, he scheduled the next day and did the job quickly. I'm glad I've got this contact.

He gave one-hour time frames. Came one day, ascertained problem, while there called to order part, gave price, paid for part and visit in short time. Returned with part two days later, set by his ability to get part, took about 15 minutes to install.

I have a very old portable dishwasher that had stopped working. I wasn't sure I could even find someone willing to look at it. Robert came out the day after I called. He was prompt, courteous and honest. He found a random screw in the machine that was clogging the motor and removed it- no parts or prolonged service necessary. He could have told me the motor was shot and I would have not have known better. His rates, while not super-cheap are certainly reasonable and more than worth it to find an honest fix-it guy.

He did excellent work, priced replacement parts on the spot and the washer is still running with no problems.

I called Robert upon finding him on Angie's List and reading his spectacular reviews. Robert himself answered the phone and asked a few brief questions about my service need. He was able to schedule me in two days later and gave me a window of 1 hour in which to expect his arrival (not 4 hours, not 8 hours...just 1 hour window!). I was a little concerned initially that he did not ask me more detailed questions about my machine, but I figured he was the professional, right? So on the appointment day (**disclaimer, I wasn't the one actually AT home, so this is technically all hearsay), Robert called within the hour window he had stated and let us know he'd be arriving in five minutes. When Robert came in, he quickly got to the machine, asked a few questions, and made a phone call regarding our LG. Once he pinpointed the problem, he quickly repaired it (He tilted the washer forward and reconnected a wire that had apparently come loose...oye!!). Overall the experience was easy and painless. Robert was great to work with and I would use him again. I'm a little ticked at myself for not realizing the ease of the fix and kinda think $125 is a little steep for the amount of labor done ($60 visit charge, $65 labor fee), but in the end its much cheaper then what some others would have charged so....lesson learned.

I called Robert for a problem with our dryer that was no longer drying anything. His response time was immediate and he fit me in immediately also and he brought the parts necessary to fix the machine based upon what I had told him in the initial call. Overall, the service was fast and I found his rate quite reasonable. I have referred other people to Robert as well, and they have had similar, positive experiences.

They were okay. They first gave me an estimate and then returned to do the repairs. It was a father and son team. They had great follow up and performed great work. They were punctual and honored the price from the original estimate. The washing machines works great. I would recommend their service to anyone.

I called Robert to fix the non-working ice machine in my refrigerator. Turns out we decided instead to hook up an ice machine I already had but wasn't using. I also thought my washer needed some work but he provided me with some recommendations for routine maintenance and we agreed to consider service later if needed. He was very helpful in moving the ice machine around to find the best location to hook it up. He even went out to 2 hardware stores to find the right part for the hookup. He arrived on time and started work right away. I will definitely use him again for any of my appliance repair needs.

He was an enjoyable person and he was very prompt. His pricing was reasonable. He was a good guy. I would use him again.
