Reeder's technician showed up promptly at the scheduled time, and inspected the boiler and its elements. He confirmed that the backflow was preventing the system from pressurizing. He said he had to submit his findings and the company would be in touch. A month goes by and I call Reeder for resolution to the matter. They inform me that if the boiler/radiators are heating (which they are), they aren't authorized to repair the backflow preventer. We have to be entirely without heat in order for them to do anything. Fine...but what's not fine is that both AHS and Reeder could have told me this before the $75 service call for the Reeder technician to tell me exactly what I already knew. Nothing resolved, money literally wasted.

I scheduled an appointment and now one showed up or called to let me know. When I finally called back after the weekend I couldn't get someone to my house for the rest of the week. I was told that they thought someone showed up at the scheduled time, but they didn't.

Our AC wasn't working properly and our warranty company sent a technician from Reeder to check on it. Our AC unit sits on our rooftop, requiring a ladder to get up there as there's no staircase. After briefly looking at (and I mean just looking) our thermostat, touching unrelated pipes around our furnace, and taking out the filter, the technician called his office and told me that the company recommends that I change the filter to an old fashioned fiber glass one. Then the technician went ahead and lied to me that he couldn't check the unit on the rooftop because he had no ladder (which was sitting on top of his van), and when I told him I have a ladder in the basement, he said very unhappily "I'm not dragging it up 3 flights of stairs." He said the air conditioning "seems" to be working fine, and he left. He may have a point about the filter being too restrictive, as you can see the filter is being sucked in hard when the AC is on, hinting that it is destructing the air flow. However, we'd used the same filter for a while with no problem, and the filter he saw was a new one (which means it should work better than the old one we had in there if his theory is correct). I was appalled to see that he did practically nothing before drawing a conclusion of what the problem may be, and the fact he clearly lied about the ladder and showed his unwillingness to carry a ladder was just unbelievable. I did not pay the $75 service fee that's required. Giving C for responsiveness as I had no problem with scheduling the appointment.

The outside part of my AC is on the roof and required climbing up on one part of the roof with another ladder to go to the second part of the roof...not a super simple job. Tim, my technician, was friendly and helpful--didn't mind having to haul up an additional ladder and gave me pointers on maintenance that I can do myself (to the inside part--I'm definitely not climbing two ladders and getting on the roof). I'll be calling them this Fall when I need to have maintenance on my boiler....

It was a positive experience, it was a good experience they were prompt, they were professional. I really called them out to clean the furnace but they told me they couldn't do that because it needed repairs or replacement.

I'm so glad that I found Reeder Heating & Cooling Inc! I called because I noticed that something was leaking onto the gas pipe from my furnace and the gas pipe was all rusty. I initially made an apt for tomorrow and told Michelle that if they happened to have a spot open up today, to give me a ring since I wanted to get the pipe checked out as quickly as possible. They did have a cancelation and Joe was at my place within a few hours of my initial call. He was very knowledgeable and professional. He found the leak and fixed it and also told me that the rust was just surface rust and that I didn't need a new pipe. It's so refreshing to find a service company that I know I can trust.

They didn't charge anything. It was included in the installation price.

I had contacted my HVAC service co. to schedule the annual check-up and cleaning of my old furnace. They said that they could not fit anyone into their schedule for about 2 months. Unhappy with their response, I contacted Reeder Heating and Cooling. I was able to schedule an appointment within one week's time. (A refreshing change). The first technician that came to the house did not seem to be as skilled as I was expecting and, unfortunately, did not do the best job. I phoned the company later in the day to complain about his performance...fully expecting to get the "run around". I was pleasantly surprised. Michelle, the Office Manager, was incredibly accommodating. She sent out two technicians and the Service Manager, Dave. They arrived the next afternoon. Given that my furnace was pretty old (30 years), I was aware that I would need to purchase a new one...at some point. In truth, I had been postponing that point for a couple of years. I was dreading the expense, time and hassle that I anticipated with the purchase of a new furnace. But, none of that stuff happened. Michelle got the financing done in a 10 minute phone conversation, found an appropriate unit and scheduled the installation for the following morning. Dave made sure that all the necessary equipment and parts were available. And the technicians were amazing. I cannot say enough about Reeder. I would highly recommend them. A+++

It was for my mother. It worked out fine. We didn't pay anything extra. She was very pleased with the gentleman who came out. He was quick and he explained everything he was doing. From a customer's standpoint, if I ever needed my furnace looked at or get a maintenance done, I would definitely use them.

The tech did not close the air return grill correctly and appears to have caused it to become lopsided after it was forced closed, which I did not notice for a few weeks later. I was able to take it apart and repair it as best as I could. No worries.

The technician showed up on time and asked if there was any particular reason I had requested the inspection and cleaning of my boiler. I let him know that the boiler released quite a bit of water when there was a large temperature fluctuation which required the boiler to work over a long period of time. He inspected the boiler and assured he me it was operating as it should and to monitor the situation for further leakage. A few months later and everything is still find. The technician proceeded to clean and inspect the boiler. He really did a phenomenal job cleaning everything - removing parts, washing them in the sink, and reinstalling. He suggested I replace a thermal coupler, which was quite corroded, and I did. In all he was professional, polite and a good teacher. Great Service!

The hear was out with power outage in Chicago. Technician was very rude. I assured them it wasn't working. The heater wouldn't come on by itself. He said it was fixed and it came up but didn't let it go through a cycle to see if it turned on. I had to keep going in the basement, pressing the reset button in the blizzard to do it manually. The office manager told me something was wrong with my unit because it hasn't been serviced since 2009. In fact, it had been serviced by them in 2013 and 2014. They finally came back out an replaced a part.

Everything went according to plan.

Great! Michael did a great job. Explained to me the potential costs of eventually replacing my 28 year old furnace, but also didn't pressure me and tell me that my existing furnace was about to go bad. Everything is good with my Lennox for the time being :)

My experience was satisfactory. They arranged the appointment to our convenience. There was just one technician here doing the work and it did not take long to complete the job. It was done in a timely fashion and he answered all our questions well and he was courteous.

When I first used the Reeder, it was for a furnace check up and inspection. The service guy found that it was my thermostat that needed replacing and said he would come back to assist with installing it if needed. He did and I was pleased with his assistance. He did not charge me for the replace installation. The second time I used the service was about four months later, when a small part was warn. The technician had the part in the truck, showed me the defective part, (which I kept) and installed it in less than an hour. On both occasions, the technicians were punctual, polite, willing to explain, and very professional. This started with the company's receptionist, and the person setting the appointment. I will definitely use Reeder again in the future!
