PROGRESS SERVICE UNLIMITED INC.

After having two estimates to repair our HVAC unit we decided to hire Progress to do the job. Progress came up with the solution, instead of replacing our compressor which was estimated over 3,500 dollars by other companies, they would repair the existing one. Our HVAC unit is now working perfect, we saved $2,900 and we got a two year warranty for the work that they provided. Once again, Progress did a good job and we were pleased to work with them. We will definitely recommend Progress to our friends.

1) What was great about the experience is that the contractor took care of removing the old dishwasher and installed a new one. I did not have to dispose the old dishwasher. 2) Very responsive... returned calls and showed up on time, if not early, for appointments. 3) Very timely...Work was completed in a timely manner. 4) Did a great job cleaning up post-construction. 5) Did a great job leveling the kitchen floor. The kitchen floor and the rest of the floor space was not on the same level previously. 6) It was a relatively painless experience for me...unlike my other remodeling jobs with other contractors. 7) The best part is my kitchen floor looks many times better than before. 8) I would definitely hire them again for future projects.

I really appreciate the time Casey took to sit down and go over every aspect of the design before starting. Our project required a lot of attention to details and Progress did a great job. The bathroom and kitchen look amazing. I can't believe how smoothly everything went. The project turned out just how we imagined. If we need more work to be done on our house, Progress Painting and Remodeling Inc. will be the first company we call.

I'm very happy with the painting work. Progress covered everything and moved the furniture in the middle of room or to other rooms. The floors were covered with both rice paper and drop cloths. Some rooms required multiple coats and this was done at no extra charge. I recommend Progress to all my friends and family.

The work went very well. The workmen arrived on time and immediately started working. The workmen cleaned up daily and left the place comfortable and I was able to invite people over during the remodeling; Progress accomplished exactly what I wanted in my place. Casey also was helpful and instructive. I especially loved the detail and craftsmanship. I recommend Progress to all my friends and family and Progress will be in my plans for all future projects at my home.

As always the work quality was excellent, service was very professional, and good value. Since we have used Progress several times in the past, we have complete trust in their workmanship. The work was done on a 2nd home (a condo in downtown Chicago), and we were able to allow Progress to do most of the work with very little supervision, knowing that the job would be done well. Progress also picked up all of our large items (bathtub, toilet, doors) at the home center at no charge. We had a complication because of a problem with our toilet order at the home center. Progress had already removed our old toilet, but the toilet which the home center got in was the wrong order, so we were temporarily without a toilet, because the old toilet tank cracked during removal and could not be re-installed. Progress came up with an inexpensive solution by purchasing a basic toilet tank and re-installed the old toilet until the home store could correct the order.

We were very pleased with ProGress. The end result was fabulous. The quality of the workmanship was very high. Owner Casey Wdowiak is extremely professional, incredibly hard working, and responsive. There were some glitches that arose, but we established good lines of communication and mutual trust and worked through them. Every night when I came home I would carefully inspect the work and communicate any concerns to Casey. I believe this set a tone for our expectations. The project did take longer than Casey originally projected, but isn't this always the case! This would be a greater concern for a kitchen remodel. I don't have firsthand knowledge about the 4/2 review posted. The poster notes however that "the scope of the project grew substantially." Our project increased by 25% from the original estimate. However, we discussed and negotiated every element in advance. If you don't do that, you proceed at your own peril, no matter who the contractor is. Read AL reviews critically!

We originally hired Progress strictly for a painting job and the scope of the project grew substantially. Things went down hill from the start. For some walls we used a specialty finish that looks like suede. Specific application instructions were not followed which required a third coat. Totally unnecessary and added to my time and cost. The plaster and paint work can only be described as unprofessional throughout the entire project. One bedroom had to be re-painted due to peeling just a couple weeks after being done. Breakfast room ceiling had to be re-done due to lousy plaster work. Now, just a few months after project completion, more cracks and peeling are appearing on painted surfaces. Other incompetent work includes: Installing cracked stringer on deck, kinking water supply line for refrigerator, hole for outlet in back of cabinet cut in the wrong spot, leaks in baseboard supply lines, two types of paint used in hallway, work area left in mess everyday. More..... space limited.

This contractor made an appointment to view my bathroom and give me an estimate. He didn't show up for the appointment or call to cancel. Needless to say, I would not consider working with this company.

Casey was great to work with. He was prompt when I called for an estimate, and was very knowledgable. His bid was very competitive compared to many of the other contractors. I got about 7 estimates. The work was done on time and as promised. His employee, Henry came to do the work and was there at 8:00 am every morning. He kept the area very clean, and even changed shoes when leaving the work area. I was very pleased overall.

I received 5 quotes prior to hiring Progress Remodeling, all chosen from Angie's List ratings. Of the five, Progress was almost the least expensive (some of the others were literally almost twice as high) and I chose them based upon Casey's presentation and professionalism. Casey and his crew did a terrific job. They adapted well to the usual glitches that arise during a job (back-ordered tile, etc.) and responded well to ad hoc requests. The new master bathroom looks fantastic, as does the rest of the work. The fact that Progress also does painting was icing on the cake as they were able to seamlessly incorporate painting the entire condo in with the rest of their work. I had complicated plumbing requests (separate thermostatic and volume controls located far apart from one another) that they implemented perfectly. They did a good job of cleaning up the work site when they left and most importantly, held to quoted price. I wouldn't hesitate to hire Casey and his company again.

The work was done smooth with no complications and on time. The workers kept the work area neat. They did what they had to do. Casey was very helpful, always in touch with me answering all questions and concerns. I am glad I found them and now I can really enjoy my new basement with a nice bathroom.

It was a good experience to work with Casey and his crew. They did what they had to do. The quality of work was excellent. The worksite was cleaned every day. They started on time and finished on time. The price was in our budget. Casey always was in touch with me during the project. I would recommended them to anyone.

THEY WERE PROFESSIONAL, RELIABLE WITH HIGH QUALITY WORKMANSHIP AT A VERY FAIR PRICE. THERE WAS NO PROBLEM WITH COMMUNICATION FROM THE BEGINNING TO THE END. CASEY RETURNED MY PHONE CALLS PROMPTLY AND PRECISELY EXPLAINED ANY QUESTIONS. THE JOB SITE WAS CLEANED EVERY DAY AFTER WORK. THEY DELIVERED EVERYTHING WHAT THEY PROMISED. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM.
