NORTH SIDE RENOVATIONS

Jeremy did an excellent job in working with us to identify repairs. Costs and ensuing that the week quality met one expectations, In reality Jeremy exceeded our expectations.

North Side Renovations did a great job. They completed the project on time and on budget. They did quality work. We are very satisfied with the result.

I have used North Side Renovations for a variety of projects in the past and have always been satisfied with their service. This was a small project but nevertheless important to me and the tenant in the apartment. A lighting fixture had failed and one room of the apartment did not have a functioning ceiling light. I bought a new fixture and emailed Jeremy to see when he could install it. To make a long story short, he texted me and asked if I could be their in an hour. I said "yes" and he arrived promptly, took down the old light fixture and put up the new one, and everything was completed in 45 minutes. Timing isn't always going to work out this well, but I have always had excellent service from Jeremy.

Jeremy was very easy to work with and very responsive. He was very adaptable to our changing schedules. The guys that he sent to do the work were quite skilled, very hard workers, tidy and conscientious. All the work that they did was quite satisfactory.

This was my second time using Jeremy because I found him and his people to be kind, respectful, punctual and do a good job. They worked with me to do the least amount of damage to my bathroom, opened up the wall and ceiling to eliminate the damaged drywall, sprayed Moldex and re-dry walled and painted the areas where the work was done. They reinstalled my fixtures and helped replaced a fussy light bulb and did it all in one day.

They were extremely responsive and did a great job. My ceiling looks brand new. Honest and very fair price.

Jeremy was extremely helpful. We appreciated his suggestions and that he made an extra trip to our house without charging us.

Things went very well. Jeremy was very responsive and provided everything we needed in order to process our insurance claim

Jeremy came over to do a quick estimate, and emailed me the cost details the following day. Throughout the estimate he was nice enough to help me understand some other common issues that he saw. He was understanding of the quantity of work that I wanted to invest in at this time. I had some follow-up questions, and he answered them promptly. Upon deciding to execute the work, I asked for a contract, and Jeremy wasn't able to provide one. Instead I had him summarize all of the work that I asked him to do in an email. Jeremy's team did the work quickly and professionally, and it was a pleasure to work with him. I do wish he was able to provide a formal contract and invoice, but otherwise was helpful and thoughtful about all of the work that he did.

The quality of the work that was done was good. There were some issues with communication between myself and Northside.

Jeremy and his workers were very responsive and punctual. ?When I emailed Jeremy to report that one of the new toilets that one of his guys had installed was running, Jeremy got right back to me, came back out to check on it and fixed the problem. ?The sawing of the banjo handle sink to make room for a new, comfort-height toilet was a complicated, difficult job, and Jeremy and his worker did a very good job with it. ?Dry wall and ceiling were also patched well. ?We were pleased with the results.

I had a great experience with Jeremy and his team. He was the only contractor who quoted to fix the ceiling instead of replacing it. He knew exactly what was wrong instead of tearing everything down. The ceiling looks great and the crown molding was a very quality job. I had to wait a little in order for his team to finish up other projects before they could work on my place, but that's to be expected. I definitely would recommend him and his team - quality work and very reasonable prices.

They did the work well. The pricing was okay; it was well within reason.

It was a small job. I needed the area sealed off better. He installed some insulation and sealed it up for me.

Decent job, but could have done better with the leveling and finishing.

I would say that this provider gave B+ work- the work ran about two weeks longer than scheduled, and towards the end of the job, parts seemed rushed- for example they had to come back to do caulking, which we are going to need to redo because it was done poorly. Small part of the job, but the finishing bits seemed to be an issue. If we were to use this provider again, we would watch the end of the service very carefully. Other than that- the tile work was top notch and our bathrooms look great.

Jeremy and his crew did a very good job on our full remodel of 2 bathrooms in our rental unit. They installed new vanities, new marble in shower/bath, new lighting and painted both spaces. Andre was the lead sub-contractor-- and even when they found unexpected issues in the bathroom walls they were able to complete the project nearly on time! The work itself was very well done-- there was one oversight found a few months after the work was completed (incomplete insulation) but when we called Jeremy he was very responsive and came out to fix the problem immediately. I would definitely recommend Jeremy for bathroom remodeling.

I decided to go with Northside Renovations based upon the reviews here and the fact that the quote was very reasonable. The work itself was done over a two day period. The installer was very friendly and seemed to be very knowledgeable. The only issue we had with the quality of the work was that due to a strangely laid pipe in our bathroom, our options were either to have a slight incline in the floor, or to raise the entire floor to such a height as to be abnormally elevated. The installer without consulting us decided upon option 1. To be fair, this probably was the best course of action. However, we as the customers should have been given the choice as to how to proceed and initially we were very unhappy. To be fair though, they did have the installer come back out for a redo free of charge to address our concerns. So while the project took a bit longer than we had hoped, I did appreciate the work being backed up. The only other issue we ran into is the owner Jeremy can at times be difficult to reach. While he did always return our calls, it did take a bit longer than I thought was reasonable. Ultimately though I look for a great price with high quality work performed. I would use Northside Renovations again and in fact have already recommended them to a friend. I think you'll be pleased if you decide to use them.

Jeremy was very prompt in giving us an estimate. He worked from a drawing we provided. He was very attentive to my questions and concerns. The work was done well and promptly. He came back to address a few minor concerns and had them remedied. Highly recommend and will use him again.

I called Jeremy for a quote to fix our laundry closet ceiling. He said he did not need to come and physically see the ceiling that needed to be repaired so I sent him a picture and he text me back with a quote of $275 to fix. I have since then called Jeremy for 2 weeks trying to get ahold of him to complete the quoted work and he has failed to respond. Now we have to start the process of quoting over again and making appointments. If he didn't have the time to do the work he should not have quoted it.

They were prompt, professional. I would definitely use them again.

They did a great job! Jeremy and Andre were easy to work with, reliable, and I felt comfortable leaving them in my home while I was away all day. The job did take longer than expected, but as with all projects like this, that's not uncommon and we'd planned for it. They were great about arranging the construction schedule around the Ikea cabinet installers, and came back a few times to finish or correct small details. We love our new kitchen and Northside Renovations did a great job!

I called Jeremy Aylesworth based on his very positive ratings here; I wanted a crawlspace insulated. When I first called on a midmorning, I got his voicemail promising to call back shortly and so I left my work number. He eventually called?long after I had left for the day. Okay, I understand: he?s busy. It?s not always convenient to call back right away. So the next time I called, I left my cell number to make sure we could touch base. When we spoke, I confirmed that he would do insulation (some handymen won?t) and he said that he would try to come out later that week: either Thursday afternoon, sometime during the day on Friday, or sometime on Saturday at the latest. He explained that he tries to arrange appointments so that he can ?bunch? them geographically. Perfectly understandable and I was in no particular rush. He never came Thursday, but I wasn?t concerned given his explanation. He didn?t come Friday either. And then he didn?t come on Saturday. No call, no explanation. Come Monday, I get to the office and find a message on my office voicemail that he left late Friday. Since my office voicemail message makes clear that it is my office, I was?and am?baffled why he didn?t call my cell. Even if he wasn?t sure which number was which, the message on the office voicemail would have made it clear. When we finally made contact, he offered an explanation relating to his car, but no explanation why he didn?t call the cell phone after reaching my office. I decided to let it go. Our schedules were very hard to synchronize, so I finally left a message for him explaining exactly what I wanted done and saying that I?d understand if it was easier for him to come by at his convenience and inspect the crawlspace. He did, took some photos, and then called me (on my cell phone this time) on Tuesday, Nov. 19. We went over the work at length but he wasn?t completely clear on what I wanted and I wasn?t completely clear on the best approach, given his comments. As a result, we agreed that he would come out some time on Friday because I planned to be home. His last comment was that if I didn?t hear from him by the afternoon, to call and remind him. By 1:15 pm, I hadn?t heard a word, so I called. I left a message, expecting to hear back shortly. I never heard from him again. At all. Nothing on Friday and then nothing at all on Saturday. I understand that things come up, emergencies happen. I can also understand if he decided that the job was too small to be of interest or even that it was too much effort to make the trip. All he needed to do was call and tell me. But what I cannot understand is ignoring my call completely and never having the courtesy to respond to my last message. From time to time I have jobs, some small and some large, where I need to hire a handyman. Others may have had good luck with him, but given his total lack of responsiveness--or courtesy, I can?t imagine calling him in the future.

Northside Renovations provided a fair estimate, showed up to the jobsite on time, and completed the job within the prescribed timeline.
