NORTH SIDE RENOVATIONS

We had North Side renovations remodel two bathrooms in our Chicago condo and were highly satisfied with the results. This was a complete overhaul involving floors, tile,plumbing fixtures, lighting and cabinets. They were professional, considerate, and transparent. Jeremy was a great project manager and Jerry was a great craftsman. In an age of pandemic they adhered to all guidelines and kept the work space safe and clean. The final results looked great.

I feel like I have a new bathroom! Very pleased with work and pricing.

Jeremy and his team were able to come out within a couple weeks of my inquiry. The work was promptly completed in 1 day. The ceiling looks great! Also, they left no mess!

They made it very clear that they would not repair our faucet because the job was not big enough for them.

Jeremy and his team helped me with some minor fixes around the apt (leaking toilet, ceiling fan, loose door lock, and others). The bulk of the work, however, was a full new paint job for a 3 bd, 1 bath apt. They were prompt and trustworthy as they unsupervised during most of the job. Walls and ceiling were all professionally patched and primed for a great looking paint job. I was right to trust Jeremy with suggestions and advice regarding the work being done and I would certainly turn to him for future projects. Thanks!

It went very well. Jeremy was very responsive and the men who did the work were very nice. The paint job was initially not ?so good but they came back and fixed it quickly. I was very happy with them and would use them again.

Jeremy was a breeze to work with. He offered great communication and cleaned each day he was here. I am more than satisfied with every aspect of his work. He will be my first call for anything I need done in the future.

Jeremy Aylesworth was the most responsive (via phone, email and text) contractor I have EVER worked with! I contacted him the week before Thanksgiving and he came out on that Saturday to give us a quote. His quote included everything but he was very open to my questions about any 'unforeseen' costs that may arise and how he charges for them (i.e. the hard to find trim we have). His quote was almost spot on to the final cost which was a welcomed change from a previous contractor we worked with a year ago. Jeremy's crew arrived with in the given time period they said they would everyday and Jeremy always made daily check ins to see how they were doing. I left my keys with them because we aren't home during the day but kept an eye on things via our home security cameras and never saw anything but work going on. They cleaned up everyday to the best of their ability which was very much appreciated since it's our main hallway they were working on in addition to the bedroom. They finished exactly when they estimated they would and it seriously looks perfect (better than I even envisioned). Since owning our home we have had multiple contractors in for various projects and NONE have compared to Jeremy and his crew! I feel so excited to finally have found someone to use for future projects!

The quality of the work was excellent. It took awhile to get the provider to give a quote and set up service, but? for the most part they were on time. However, I found I had to rearrange my work schedule to fit with some changes in scheduling they made. Two big dings are professionalism and price. The electrician came? on two separate occasions and both times, he asked me for my condo keys when he needed to go to his vehicle. I refused and told him that I would buzz him in via the intercom. Handing over keys to a stranger is like handing over your wallet, and should never be considered by anyone providing such services. It was not professional. Second, I was provided a quote after Jeremy came and saw both the layout and all of the pendants. When the work was complete, he increased the price, saying that the dining pendant was a chandelier and therefore harder to install. However, he looked at the 5 pound (very light) dining pendant when he came to provide a quote, and this pendant was the same weight as each of the small kitchen pendants. Finally, when I reminded him that I was an Angie's list member and his company offers a 15% discount for members, he claimed that it was included hidden in the quote. Again, not abiding by a written quote and providing one with ambiguity is really unprofessional. Given this and the fact that the service was expensive, I will never use them again.

I will definitely hire Northside Renovations again. They did an outstanding job, took good care of my property as they were doing the work. Very punctual and professional. My rooms look amazing. I'm already planning the next project for the spring.

Very smoothly. They cleaned up after themselves (to the extent possible) each day, and were punctual. They worked one weekend day, after asking if it would be OK, to finish the job more quickly.

Jeremy was great setting up; responsive to email and text and on time. His worker did a great job. We'll have them back!

We are very happy with our home it looks like new to us when we come home. The front porch stairs were done in 2 tone and we really like it. I am so happy to have a basement railing finally! No more precariously perching down the stairs. The inner hallway upstairs stairs are plaster (this is an 1890's home) and they did a great job making the plaster look smooth and fresh again before painting. We are very happy with the work done. I still smile when I use our stairs.

They did a great job. ?They showed up on time, took time to do the job right and even came in under budget. ?They built a wood and drywall soffit in my kitchen and then painted it to match the wall. It was a straight forward project but was more complex than I had imagined. ?They knew what it would take and quoted accordingly. ?Because they were prepared they finished early and charged less than their original quote. ?Nice guys too. I have dealt with a lot of contractors over the past 5 or 6 years a I rehabbed 2 houses and I am always pleasantly surprised when someone shows up on time and finishes on time. ?North Side did both.

The work has always done well. Sometimes it takes a while to get scheduled with Jeremy...he may have several big jobs going. Then other times, he's there the next day. So, it seems to just depend on how many things are on his platter.

Jeremy and his team were very professional he gave me very detailed estimate and he respected it very well when we closed the balance. He went the extra mile to make sure work get done in the way I asked him to. Even though we had a lot of changes in plans and times he was able to accommodate all my requests. I would definitely call Jeremy again for any minor or major work.

Slow and steady wins the race. Some of the walls were in terrible shape, but they took the time to properly prepare everything. They are very trustworthy. This is one of the few outfits I trust with house keys where they are working, and they never abuse the privilege. Their vast experience makes what are thorny tasks for me childs play. Highly recommended.

We were very happy with the work that was done and were glad to work with Jeremy. We had a couple of jobs that needed to be staggered--quite a bit of drywalling and bathroom tile work. The drywallers were here for about a week and a half, then the plumbing and tile crew came in for around 4 days, and then the drywaller came back for a couple days to finish up the bathroom and prime the newly drywalled surfaces. The job was coordinated well we didn't have worry about the timing of the two crews. And it all went according the timeline we expected. We had a few problems with the initial drywall guy who was sent, Crispin--didn't tape off the opening to the kitchen and covered everything in dust from the demo, tried to take a few shortcuts in the living room and got frustrated with us when we said he needed to do the job the way it was quoted because of later renovation work that would take place around it. Anyway, we talked to Jeremy when we ran into problems. He was always very quick to respond to calls and he was very professional and helpful about it, no defensiveness, just resolved the issue with the subcontractor. Ultimately, a different drywaller, Max, ended up finishing the project and Jeremy gave us a discount for the cleaning we had to do because of the amount of blow through into the kitchen. We liked the tile and plumbing crew a lot, they were really communicative and thoughtful about how their work would leave us set up for the remaining tasks that we need to do in the bathroom.

Understandably, the variety of projects took a while to execute, but the workers were attentive once they started and management oversight was good -- and always responsive to the client. Close out was prompt and efficient -- no loose ends. Without question, I would use this firm again for anything of this nature.

Overall, Jeremy and his crew did great work. I love how it turned out. Jeremy got his guys to the job site every day as promised. Jeremy was easy to work with, and honest, and forthcoming. Something went wrong, I did have to provide more oversight then I wanted to.

He did excellent work, the only problem was that the clean-up afterwards wasn't so good.

Jeremy was great to work with. He provided a timely estimate. Though Jeremy had another guy perform the task, it went very well. My neighbor is pleased with the work.
