They were excellent. Arrived on time, were friendly, and professional. They were very accommodating, since I had a small time window, and couldn't reserve a regular two-hour time window. They called when they were ready, and arrived on time when I was there. They also looked for a 2-man crew since I really didn't need 3-men, thereby reducing the moving cost substantially.

Two movers from New City Moving showed up exactly on time at the second floor apt. on the south side. Within 1.5 hr. everything was loaded and they were on their way to the north side. Everything was packed very safely and efficiently. We arrived at our home at about the same time and they relocated all the items to either our basement or the garage as indicated. Everything went very smoothly.They cleaned up everything in the studio before leaving. One item, a glass tope to a TV stand, was lost along the way. This was an ancient item so we didn't really care but had it been something of value, it might have been a different story. That was the only glitch along the way. They never found the glass top.

Arrived on time, did a great job, did not have a scratch on anything. I have used them for two moves and both times they were excellent. If you are moving in May or June make sure to call in advance to schedule your move because they fill up quick!

It was a small move. I think they are quite efficient and professional. They are very careful about moving the furniture. One thing was we were moving from an apartment building moving to an inter median. So it required specific insurance. That's one reason I picked them. The other thing they can move other than somebody else.

Everything went fine with their services. They finished under the time estimate. They brought packing materials to assist with the final packing. They shrink wrapped my furniture and took care of everything. Nothing was broken or damaged. I would recommend them.

Our 3 man crew was great. I couldn't imagine moving without them. We were moving from a 4th floor walk up and just the thought of completing it alone was terrifying. The move was completed in under the estimated time and all of our stuff was treated with great care. The only casualty was a ceiling light, but the office has been very responsive and sent over a claim for right away. These things happen during a move so we weren't too worried about it. This has been by far the best moving company we've ever worked with. We would use again and recommend. Thanks!

Awesome! The guys were very professional, quick and nice to work with! My new home unfortunately does not have an elevator - the guys carried many boxes and tons of furniture up the stairs without even taking notice! Finished the entire move in a reasonable amount of time (and well below quoted). I will use them again and recommend them to friends and family!

Overall, the move went very well. I used New City Movers to unload a large 20' UHAUL truck filled with my belongings from my one bedroom apartment in Milwaukee. The movers met me at my new townhouse in Chicago on the day of the move. Ricky (the head mover), was in contact with me early on the day that was scheduled. He asked if I was free to move in early, which unfortunately, I wasn't as I was in the middle of traveling from Milwaukee to Chicago. The guys were able to meet at my new building earlier than anticipated, and that was a large relief. There were three male movers (Ricky, Santos, and Memo) and they were all extremely proficient. The move was completed in an hour and a half and the cost was well under New City Moving's original estimate. My only disappointment with New City was that the movers originally would not agree to set-up some of my items (e.g. bed frame, couch, etc.) because they had not packed them from my original destination. However, after I explained that I would be more than willing to compensate them for any additional time or effort, they were more than happy to help. I would recommend New City Moving to anyone in the Chicago-land area without hesitation. From the beginning of the process to the very end, they were professional, courteous, and punctual. I wish I could've used them in Milwaukee to load my 20' UHAUL to begin with. They were well worth the competitive cost and I was highly satisfied at the end of a very stressful day.

We went from a 3 bedroom 3 bath home on the northside to our new home in the suburbs. We had stuff at our home and a storage space because we needed to store things for the real estate showing of our house. This was the only company that would come to our house and give an estimate. All of the other companies had you submit a list online and they give you a quote from there. We were uncomfortable with that. We liked how a sales rep came and answered our questions. Another bonus was that the team that moved us, was also the team that came to pack our stuff the day before. The team of five were efficient and quick in the packing. They were careful with the fragile stuff. They threw alot of random stuff in the boxes together, but that was our fault for not preparing our home for moving day. They are a bit more expensive than the other companies, but the price was worth it as the team was incredibly clean and efficient.

The first was done by "Ricky's crew" (don't remember their names), but they were outstanding - best movers I've ever used. The second move also went well. I would recommend New City Movers without reservation.

We have moved house 4 previous times and this was our best move by far! We built a new house, so our move in date was only slightly better then approximate due to permitting issues. Claire and the rest of the office staff were exceedingly flexible and helpful as our date threatened to shift and did everything they could to minimize the stress. They were every responsive and knowledgeable about the whole process. The actual day of the move, we had a team of 8 guys arrive at our house right on time (10am). They were all very pleasant and professional and worked at the speed of light it seemed. They really don't mess around! The trucks were loaded and ready to go around 2pm and they were unloaded at the new house by 6pm with all of the furniture set up the way we wanted. It really was amazing! We had 1 small shoe rack damaged in the move, but given the amount of stuff they moved, it hardly counts as anything. A few other notable points - we had boxes from our previous move and they used all of them, so our materials cost was pretty low, not all companies would have done that. Also, they brought wardrobe boxes that we used during the move and then they took them away, which was another win because anything to reduce move waste is great. Great experience all around!

We chose New City Moving, even though their estimate was not the lowest, it was actually the highest we got. The biggest difference for us though, was the level of service and thoroughness of each communication we had with them. A few other companies we spoke with seemed to rush through the estimate with a more, "yeah, yeah, yeah, we got you covered" kind of an approach. This concerned me because we had a wood shop with heavy tools and a storage unit that also needed moving. After reading reviews of a ton of companies, it seemed to be that you can definitely get a sloppy company that can screw you up in an already otherwise stressful event. When it came time for packing day, the crew was polite and courteous. They worked quickly and we had no issues. We had a bunch of boxes we already bought and they used all of the materials we had on-hand before using their own. The next morning it was the hottest day of the summer and they crew really hustled all day long. We got everything moved without incident or issue. When it came time for the final bill, we were under estimate. I was rally impressed with the whole operation from the onset and will not hesitate to recommend them or use them again myself.

New City was impressive from the moment I made my first phone call to them. Their estimate was 470, which was cheaper than the other companies I called for estimates. Price wasn't the only factor, but it was important of course. The person on the phone (I wish I could remember her name, she was great) was very friendly and knowledgeable and went over everything I needed to know.. she put me at ease about the whole thing right from the start. This company sent a very detailed quote through email right away, which I also really liked. On moving day, the movers called and said that they were ahead of schedule and asked if they could come early. I was very happy about this. Once they arrived (there were 3 guys), they immediately got to work -- I could not believe how fast they were! They knew exactly what they were doing. They were very careful not to break anything. After they put everything I had indicated into the truck, they asked me to go through the house and make sure there wasn't anything else I wanted moved. Once we were sure they had everything, I drove to meet them at the new house. When they arrived they once again immediately got to work. They made sure that they were putting everything where I wanted, and asked about anything that I hadn't clearly marked. I bought some felt pads for the bottoms of all my furniture so I wouldn't scratch up the floors, and they helped me get them all on. They set up my bedroom the way I had asked, but it turned out that the furniture didn't fit as well as I had hoped, so they helped me rearrange it to a much better setup. It was nice that they cared about how the space would be used. They ended up taking less time than expected, and the final cost came in almost 100 dollars less than the estimate! Made me very happy. I always get nervous when people charge by the hour, since they would make more money if they worked slower.. no incentive to be fast.. But I did not have to worry with these movers at all! They were not only very fast, but they were also thoughtful and considerate, and they treated my things very carefully. It ended up being so much less stressful than I had thought it would be! If I ever move again, I would definitely call New City again, I had a very good experience.

We priced a few different moving companies, and New City was pretty comparable price was, however the positive reviews swayed us to hire them. I'm so glad I did. They were quick, efficient, and incredible helpful. I was about 7 months pregnant during this move, and my husband had to work that day, and the movers couldn't have been more accommodating. They were quick, everything was kept in good condition, and the few items they packed for me were packed up much better than the packing I did myself! Overall I was very pleased with their service and will definitely remember to recommend them to friends and family.

The support staff setting up the move was excellent. They texted me to see if an earlier time would be acceptable. A great use of simple technology to coordinate with me. The move was done late on a Friday night. The movers were superior in handling the furniture and quickly getting done, which my daughter appreciated since scheduled a party at the same time as the move at one of the locations. Both the party and the move went off without a hitch. Thank you New City Moving. I will be using your services again.

I have to say that the service was amazing. I was quoted 4 hours for my move, they were complete in 3 hours. I let them know that my move could not start until after 9 am (building rules), they were at my place at 9 am sharp. The 3 guys that moved me were very professional and very fast. I was very pleased with the speed and care of the move. I have found nothing broken or damaged. I will definitely be using them again.

My move could have not gone any smoother. Not only were they prompt but they even called me to see if they could come a bit earlier because they finished another job earlier than expected. They went over what was to moved and what had to be wrapped ie. furniture, tv, etc. My items were moved with care. Not only did they finish 15-20 min earlier than when they estimated, my total cost also came in under what was quoted. I would not only recommend New City Movers but would use them again for any furture moves.

Contacted New City Moving at the referrals of friends who had used them in the past. All contact over the phone was professional and pleasant. Due to a family emergency, I was unable to be there on the day of the move, but I was told the movers were very fast at loading and unloading the truck. The price was right in line with what we were quoted and the owner, Brian, was very responsive to my questions and requests. He even contacted me a few days after the move to ensure that everything had worked out. Great guy and great company! I hope I don't have to move again anytime soon but if I do, I will use them again.

I received quotes from a number of other movers and New City was priced better than others and did NOT charge extra for moving at the end of the month (Golans). New City's travel charge was also lower than others. Claire, their service rep who I spoke with on the phone was very polite and prompt to return calls and make confirmations. So how did they perform? New City sent 4 movers to my 3rd floor condo and they arrived perfectly on time. These guys were superhuman, carrying 4-5 boxes at a time down to the truck. They carefully wrapped all my furniture and boxes up random stuff I had not yet packed. They finished up packing the truck in 3 hours, made a stop at another house to pick up a couple other pieces of furniture, then moved my family into our new house. I was wary about them possibly dinging the walls of the house which had all just been newly painted. The New City movers (Ryan, Eduardo, Gustavo and ____) didn't damage a single item and put all boxes in the correct rooms. In total, I was quoted for 8 hours; they completed the job in 7 hours and used less materials that quoted as well. I was extremely pleased. I chose New City based off the reviews on Yelp and I now fully support them and will use them again. Extra- they willingly moved a HUGE piece of furniture that the previous owner of my house left on the 2nd floor to the garage. Had they not done that for me, I would have never gotten it down without assistance. The guys were polite, professional, well dressed, ready to work hard, and took apart and reassembled beds, hutches, and tables. A+ all they way around.
