I wrote a longer review on Yelp and Google...but stay away from this company. Items were missing or damaged. Our new home sustained damage to walls and floors. The crew was rude. I was told I enlisted in the extra coverage via a documented phone call, but a misleading/confusing form (attached) negated this coverage. Paid for an extra set of hands to speed up the process for the move out, and they did very little to help. Avoid these movers.

Exercise Caution: Unsatisfactory Experience with New City Moving I recently had the unfortunate experience of using New City Moving for my relocation, and I feel compelled to share my story as a cautionary tale to others. Upon the arrival of their driver, I was immediately informed of significant damage to one of my large furniture pieces. This initial setback was distressing, to say the least, and raised questions about the professionalism of the company's movers. What's more, the driver went on to express dissatisfaction with previous movers from New City, emphasizing their poor performance. Ironically, this came after it took an excessive 6.5 hours to wrap and move furniture out of my 800 sq foot apartment. The inefficiency added unnecessary stress to my moving process. However, the most disappointing aspect of this experience was the company's response. It took them over three weeks to propose a solution, which, in my opinion, was inadequate. They offered a mere $55.00 in compensation for the significant damages incurred during the move. This response did not align with the extent of the damage or the costs I had to bear as a result. I believe in accountability and customer satisfaction, values that should be the cornerstone of any reputable business. My experience with New City left me deeply disappointed and compelled me to share my story.

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY If I could give zero stars, I would. We used this company in 2019 and had a good experience. So when we were moving again on 9/22/22, we decided to use them again. We hired the company to pack, move and unpack everything between 9/21/22-9/23/22. The packing and moving went okay. We generously tipped each individual worker for each of the 3 days they worked. There were some items that we moved ourselves because they were personal items that we didn't want the movers to handle. One of those items was my jewelry case. I moved it myself because I did not want them handling it. I put it in our new house in the master closet and checked to make sure everything was intact and it was. A few days after the movers left, on 9/26/22, I went to get a piece of my jewelry from the case and discovered that two diamond rings were missing. Both are priceless and sentimental to me, one of which is my mother's ring that was given to her as a gift from my dad 35-40 years ago. I exhausted every avenue in trying to find these items before I lost hope and contacted the moving company to file a complaint. I tried emailing our moving coordinator, Bryan Kravitz, on 9/26/22, asking for him to call me back about the situation and he didn’t. I then called the company again on the morning of 9/27/22 and was hung up on. I called again right after that and left a message explaining the situation and they didn’t call me back. Finally I got a hold of someone on the afternoon of 9/27/22 & they said they would launch an investigation and interview each of the people that were in my house. I made a police report and I also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I also posted reviews on Google & Yelp on 10/2/22. *Update* After posting reviews similar to the one above on 10/2/22, I was sent a text message on my personal cell phone from the owner of the company, Brian Slater, saying that their attorney was coming in to investigate and interview the employees. But, if I did not take down my online reviews, they would discontinue the investigation. He said, “We will close the investigation on our side, and if you retract the reviews, we will be happy to continue to investigate and interview the teams accordingly.” I have every text message on file. I felt bullied & intimidated into taking down the reviews. I’m very disheartened and disappointed in my perception of the owners’ unprofessional and abrasive behavior in sending me private text messages to my cell phone and threatening to discontinue the investigation unless I removed my reviews. Also, since finally unpacking the last of our boxes we have discovered 2 missing lamps and a foldable cocktail table. PLEASE NEVER USE THIS COMPANY! YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!

The delivery was horrifying—boxes marked fragile crushed, 30+ items broken, boxes missing, no unpacking, boxes dumped in garage. Claims are a joke. Don’t use!!!

Everything went like clockwork. A team of five (led by Adam) packed and loaded everything in our home within 2-1/2 hours. Everyone of them were more professional than you could imagine. One bedroom door was damaged slightly but, it was repaired the next morning by a representative for New City. Impressive. A team of two arrived at our new place at the agreed upon date and time. Adam and John unloaded and placed everything where we wanted it in around 4-5 hrs. When we settled up the bill with Adam, the final cost was approximately 5% lower than we were quoted. We have unpacked all but 10 of 89 boxes and so far nothing has been damaged. All the furniture also survived the move unscathed. Couldn't imagine a better moving experience. Highly recommend.

The crew was great. I’ve used this company twice and would use them again in the future.

The guys were nice enough and professional, but I was charged double what I was quoted. When asked about it, the gentleman pointed out I had more than was in the quote, but when I looked back, it described what was moved almost exactly (I had quoted 15 boxes, but only needed 7 moved.)

Customer service was very professional, reviewed all of the costs, called a few days prior to confirm date and time. Freddy and his team of (3) movers were great— on time, professional, efficient, courteous, and quick. I would definitely hire again.

Excellent. Movers were professional, fast and punctual. They took great care not to scratch or scrape my walls while moving the equipment.

New City Moving helped to make our move quick and easy. The team was very responsive and professional.

Crew was delayed 2 hours due to an earlier client not giving them an accurate estimate of the moving to be done, but finished the move exactly on their time estimate (5 hr beginning to end) and at reduced cost. The gents were all efficient and careful with our stuff, not a single moving casualty even among the kitchen fragiles. They were also very helpful getting additional furniture down to a trailer we had to cart off to a separate destination, can't thank them enough for the help.

During a multi-stop move, these guys kept things in order, were careful with the inventory and worked continuously at each location. Not only was this team efficient over a lengthy move, but they took care to not damage hallways, doors and even reassembled my bed frame without asking. All of this at similar cost to other companies. I've since spoken with other people and realized friends have used them and recommended them as well.

They showed up and were so slow loading the trucks. The Forman lost his iPad and so we had to look for that for 20 minutes and then stood around for another 15 after that before we actually left. Then broke a flat screen 50” TV and offered me $50 as compensation after I paid $3,000 and a tip of $200 in cash to the movers. They have a large force and are responsive but I will never use them again.

The guys called me in advance to let me know the time of arrival. They arrived even earlier and began moving my items right away. Some of my furniture needed to be wrapped and it was done in an excellent way and professionally. They made sure nothing was damaged no matter how narrow was the entry door to my new apartment. I would hire them again!!!

New City Movers were Great! Professional. Took care and wrapped all my furniture, were very courteous and quick.... I will hire them again when I move out from storage. They are great!

While they were very professional, we have an undetermined several months of storage. They were competitive on the moving side but too expensive on the monthly stogage

The team that came out was amazing. They were 10 mins early, courteous, and efficient with all of our time. The move went quickly. I would definitely hire this company again!!

Great. i could not say enough about this company. They were great working with me as I had a complex move. New City accommodated me when I had to reschedule and they could not be nicer. The day the move came my Husband and I were both very impressed with the crew. They were friendly, efficient and worked extremely hard. The crew went above and beyond expectations and everything arrived in great shape. Would highly recommend this company again!

Excellent. I cannot not say enough good things about this company from estimate to completion! On the front end, the front office team of estimate to scheduling was on point, communicated timely, answered any questions/concerns to follow through. I experienced an all female front team which were professional and cheerful/pleasant demeanor. This went along way. Moving is stressful and they put a calm to the entire situation. It set a perfect tone to start from. They weren't the lowest estimate I got but that demeanor drew me to them plus they already had A+ rating. Don't be fooled by their higher estimate price because we finished up well under. I think that's by design to some degree. If I did nothing and they showed up I'm sure I would hit a high number. But as I told them, I will do 90% of the packing and supplies of boxes, tape, etc. Plus, they don't want to come in too low and tell you, yeah, that'll be another $800 for blah, blah.. nobody is gonna want to hear that. If most stuff is ready to go (packed by you) and they are primarily loading/unloading trucks you're saving money. Moving charges fall into a few categories. How much time, how much supplies, how much stuff. They'll bring the trucks, maybe one more than you need but they'll send it back if it's not needed and won't charge you for it. They gave me a 10 man, *** bustin' crew. These guys were animals. They showed up early, assessed the situation, we discussed the plan and pricing agreed upon and that we will reconcile costs at the end to see if we are under or over. We said go and they got to work, hustled down to business immediately. They worked all but nonstop and get this, it began to downpour rain for 80% of the time but that didn't stop them and they didn't let anything get wet. It certainly impressed me how diligently they worked and didn't let the rain be an obstacle or a slow down for their work. They didn't break anything. Yeah, there was a nick here and maybe a chip there but that's nothing. That's moving and that will happen. Nothing that required any sort of claim. We arrived at my new home and they put down protective film on the carpeting and cardboard floor runners on the hardwoods. This helps greatly from tracking dirt in or scratches. It's a minimal up charge but you should do it. It was a one hour drive to my new home and they took their lunch on the fly. They maybe did 30 minutes for lunch. That's nothing. They arrived timely, and again, got down to business. They took each box to the appropriate room that was written on the box. Nearing the end of the move in Justin said, I want you to look around. Make sure all the boxes are where they are supposed to be or where you want them. If not, we'll move them. That right there, was great follow through and showed they do actually care or are trained well enough to express that to the customer. Again, making the customer calm and cared for. Thanks to New City Movers for a wonderful experience. The crew of Claire, Bailey, Felipe, Justin and the rest of the moving team did an excellent job! Thank You!

New City was not only the most affordable option for our downstate move, but the easiest mover to work with by far. No delays on the move at all--we did it in a day. Excellent mover.
