Felipe & the crew were great. Everything made it to my new home in perfect condition. The move took less time than estimated so the bill was lower. Nice surprise. Everyone was great & it all went smoothly.

We had an overall good experience with New City. The office staff were great to work with in the lead up to the move -- quick to respond and friendly on the phone. We selected New City because its pricing was competitive, it offered overnight retention (up to 5 nights, though we only needed 1 for $100/night), it had good reviews, and it offered free use of the wardrobe boxes. New City delivered on its promises and our move cost almost exactly the amount quoted to us. While we had a good experience, we would likely try to use Move-tastic (as we have in the past) if we were to move again. (We decided to go with New City over Move-tastic this time around because their estimate was a bit less and they seemed to have more experience with overnight retention, which we needed). Where we felt there was some room for improvement for New City was the efficiency of the move itself (my husband occassionally noticed half-full dollies or rides up/down the elevator) and their ability to quickly put back together the furniture they they had efficiently taken apart the day before. Again, the move was good, just not great. We have enthusiastically recommended Move-tastic to friends in the past, but I'm not sure we'd be as enthusiastic in our recommendation of New City.

New City was fantastic! From the initial call to the actual move they really stood apart in terms of professionalism, responsiveness and customer service. The moving crew was punctual, courteous and friendly, and they were also extremely flexible. We had to make a stop at our storage space to collect a few items and discovered that the power was out for routine maintenance. The crew took it in stride, used their cell phone flashlights and used the stairs rather than the elevators...they were so gracious about the entire frustrating situation. They finished ahead of schedule and treated our items with care. By far the best moving experience we've ever had, we would definitely recommend them to family and friends and use them in the future.

They were professional with the way they confirmed services and they provided a quote over the phone. The actual movers were very personable. The price seemed reasonable.

Ricky and his crew arrived early, which I greatly appreciated, and finished ahead of schedule. They were fast, courteous, very professional and I would use them again in a heart beat and suggest them to anyone moving.

Great service at the front end, they got information and provided what should have been a reliable estimate, it was quite reasonable. Their e-mail message gave me a 3-hour window (3-6), but over the phone they said that they were usually at least an hour early, and as much as two hours early, so the real estimate was 2 PM and the window was 1-4 PM. Around 11 AM I received a call from the dispatcher indicating that he was not sure what the actual time would be and promising to call me in an hour with an update. He never called. I contacted the company and they promised a call from the dispatcher but no call came. My schedule had been rearranged around their assurances about time, and I had to sit and wonder if and when they would come for hours when it would have been a simple matter to pick up the phone and keep me up to date. I called a second time and was promised a call from the dispatcher but never did hear from the dispatcher--eventually I heard from the driver, when he was five minutes away, so I had to rush home to be there. They were not early, not on time, it was 4:15 PM. The driver informed me that the crew did not know anything at all about what they were supposed to take, even though I had completed their detailed checklist online. This required me to reconstruct the items they were to take; as a result, a couple of times we thought they had everything but I remembered another item that had been on the list (which they take electronically, so I did not have a copy). The crew did the job well, no complaints there. But as a result of their delay, when they were ready to deliver, the apartment building required them to wait for two hours because we missed the window for deliveries. The company charged me for that additional time, which was their fault. Only when I complained did I receive an apology and no explanation of (a) why the dispatcher never called to let me know when they would get there; (b) why they were so late; (c) why the crew was given no information about what was to be moved; and (d) why they did not absorb the additional cost their delay caused. They did apologize when I detailed what had gone wrong and offered to have the owner call me, but by that time the harm was done and I had better things to do.

Showed up on time and did a great job

I've used this mover for my past 3 moves and would never use anyone else. They give an honest "this is the most you'll pay" quote. on two occasions it came in under, the 3rd time bang on buck. I have recommended them to others and when they got the quote went with someone else and ended up paying more than NCM's quote in the end. Their crews are helpful, they have advised me furniture placement when they felt my initial way would not fit. If they take a lunch break they deduct it from the bill. you're belongings are safe with these movers and will arrive in one piece, in a timely manor

New City Moving exceeded my expectations. We have had moving experiences in the past where the movers were late and our stuff was damaged. NCM was on time, asked what we wanted moved, and packed/padded everything correctly so it wouldn't be damaged. Three guys showed up at my condo and packed everything and moved it on to the truck within an hour and a half. They worked very fast and communicated with us whenever they had a question about items being moved. The drop off at our house in the suburbs the next day went very smooth. An extra truck they was close by even showed up with three extra guys and I was told the extra guys would help out but I would not be charged for it. So we had a six guy team moving all of our stuff into our new house and we only paid for three. They were quick, removed all of the packing material and cleaned it up. They were also mindful to ask if we wanted them to walk on our carpet since it was sprinkling outside. I told them it was okay since we were going to shampoo the carpets when they were done anyway. It was nice they asked though! The overall experience was great. NCM moved us in super fast and did it with a hustle the whole time. The fact they brought in more guys to help move made be inclined to leave a larger tip, which they deserved. Thanks again I would recommend NCM to anyone!

They were extremely responsive when I called with questions and updates, and kept me calm throughout the process. I was especially happy that they were able to accommodate my move date on short notice.

They were right on time. We moved from a 2nd floor walk up and they carried everything down, and load it into the truck. They were professional and very nice. They worked quickly and the estimate move time was right on target. They were not the cheapest quote we got, but for the great service it was well worth it.

Not only were Milton and his team professional and polite, they went out of their way to be helpful. They were early to start and end (despite our unplanned additions to their efforts) and they came in under what was initially quoted! Careful of our walls and gentle on the furniture, New City Moving was realistic, honest, and extremely efficient. Would definitely use again and was a great experience for our first time using a moving company.

New City Moving was amazing. The first thing that struck me was how professional, and accommodating, and helpful, and friendly everyone was. Starting with the scheduler and the other office staff who made it sound normal to have no idea how much of what was in your old house you would be needing to move. Someplace between a 3 bedroom house full of furniture to virtually no furniture, just tons of boxes. Same for how much packing help we'd need -- someplace between everything in the house to just a bit. Some would be moving to new place, some would have to go to storage. (As it turned out, stuff went to 3 locations + storage and they kept it all straight). then the estimator who showed up in his Smart car, ipad in hand and walked through the house with me and documented (with pictures) room by room what might have to be done. I asked him for a worst case bid -- it looks just like this when your guys walk in -- i.e., nothing is packed and still working on where it all goes. Their worst case bid was by far the lowest one I got and it was segmented so that I could intelligently figure out what the services I actually needed would cost. The moving crew was nothing short of amazing. Cheerful, friendly, patient, and extremely competent. Labeled boxes in Spanish and English. Worked out a strategy with the crew chief on how to keep everything straight and organized on their trucks. Besides getting everything to the correct place, they even remembered what box certain key items were packed in. And did I mention that nothing got broken??!!!? But, a highlight was yet to come. When we got to the first stop -- the storage facility -- I talked to the crew chief about paying them. Turns out that I couldn't pay until the move was completed and the final tally done. Unfortunately, the last drop-off point was at my nephew's home and I couldn't be there. It was already after 5 and their office was closed, but they directed my call to their emergency dispatch number. So -- I called and got the company president who worked it all out with me so that I could give him my card number and authorize the charge over the phone when it was done. These guys are the best in class. More like they've defined a whole new class -- white glove movers and hand holding. I can't imagine ever calling anyone else.

It went well. We have small doorways on our old house, but the crew took care not to bump anything. The newly-refinished floor still looked great when they finished, so we were happy.

All of the team (Maurio, Juan and Fernando) were efficient and quick. Maurio, the forman for job 88629, took time to explain all the forms that I was required to sign. The actual time to move from start to finish was considerably less than the original time estimated, thus saving me money. I have not moved in 40 years and this was my first experience with professional movers. I was impressed. The team was focused and very careful with my belongings, especially two glass covered paintings. They were also friendly and never complained about the third floor trek both ways. I was very pleased and relieved after the move. Thank you all.

I chose New City Moving based on the reviews on Angie's list and yelp as well as they fact that they permitted payment via credit card. When dealing with this company everything that was mentioned in other's reviews holds true with my experience. It was easy to first get a quote and get the date scheduled. The movers showed up right on time. It took about 2.5 hr to load the truck from our 14th floor apartment. It takes this long because they wrap up and break down ALL of your belongings. This is the best and probably appropriate way to do things (but when I move myself I don't take that much care). It then took them about an 1.5 hr to move everything off the truck and into our new place on the third floor via stairs (no elevator). They worked extremely hard and efficient and were curtious and professional. Our movers were Milton (foreman), Pedro and Memo. Overall we were extremely pleased with the services provided. The final cost was about $75 under the quoted cost. Nothing was damaged (that we noticed). Would absolutely move them again for our next move.

Customer service was accommodating and their estimation process was great - they said they estimate on the high side just in case. Our final bill was less than I anticipated - always a plus! The movers - Daryl and team (wish I could remember all their names because they were all great) took great care to wrap and move every single piece. Daryl went above and beyond - inspected pieces of furniture, tightened legs, custom wrapped my TV when it was too big for the box and showed us some pre-existing issues (with a statue and other items) that we should be careful with in the future. His team expediently wrapped and moved furniture like experts - with great care and without any breaks. This team truly cared about furniture and even pointed out that you have to if you're going to be a good mover. They were polite and patient (e.g. when waiting for delayed freight elevator opening and a car that blocked their truck from leaving the first location). At the end of the move Daryl asked me to fill out a questionnaire - gave me an envelope and privacy to give my opinion. When I handed the envelope with completed questionnaire, he promptly sealed it - very courteous. They took away the stress of moving - and I would definitely use them again - thank you New City!

Very professional, highly organized, were able to come early on the day of the move, finished quickly, and came in well under the estimate. Highly recommend! Definitely plan to use again when we move into our new house and will be requesting Maurice and his team for sure!

The estimator came and called because he was running early. He was there less than 30 minutes and was very pleasant. He was great at suggesting things that should go in our cars to ensure they arrive in good condition (i.e. guitar) and how we could save extra money. We received quotes from 2 other places. Despite New City being the middle in terms of price, their professionalism and helpfulness throughout the estimation process won my business. The day of the move, Maurice and his crew of 4 other men showed up right on time and got straight to work while Maurice reviewed the paperwork with my husband. The process was so great (and that's saying something for a move). The entire team was extremely concerned with the care of our belongings. They noticed a leg on our table had broken and everyone of them came up to us to make sure we saw it and see if it was their fault. (Luckily, it was the fault of the last moving company we used.) Everything arrived safely and quickly. They came in under budget in combination because we had everything ready to go for them and because they were so efficient. Best experience I've ever had moving. We will definitely look to use them again!

They were courteous and professional. They called before they showed up. They made sure to carefully wrap all the furniture. One piece of furniture was particularly difficult to get out of our apartment and it required a creative solution. Great job overall.

Responsive customer service, easy scheduling. Arrived on time and finished close to the estimated time frame. Pricing was reasonable - about what was expected for an in-city move.

Dale and Tobias and his team for made our move effortless this past Sunday, March 23rd. They were so professional, fast, polite and did some last minute packing for us as well. They are a great team and never stopped moving and nothing was lost, damaged, and it was like magic. New City is amazing.

Right from the start Clare, who answered my initial call was helpful in coordinating our move and explaining New City services. Within an hour we received a written estimate via email. Had a wonderful experience with Fernando and his crew managing our move. They were friendly, careful, efficient and accommodating. They took great care with all of our personal belongings, wrapping them in blankets and shrink wrap as needed. Nothing was damaged or broken. They were able to complete the move in less time than estimated. We have already praised them to our coworkers and friends and will request them for any future moves.

Maurice and his crew of 3 men showed up exactly at 7:30am. The original estimate for the move was 7 hours and they did an impeccable job from start to finish, on time, and w/in budget. The most complicated part of the move was that we were living in a highrise that did not have a service elevator entrance from the 1st floor. Thus, they had to cart or carry items from the 2nd floor down the parking ramp which is a bit ridiculous but hey, those were the association rules. They didn't complain once or show any annoyance by these circumstances. Every precious item of furniture and all paintings/frames were wrapped and then supported w/ blankets. They also provided 4 wardrobe boxes at no additional charge. Upon inspection after the move, not a single item was missing, broken or remotely scratched. All in all, I am extremely satisfied w/ New City and have already recommended Maurice's team to my friends. They are simply perfection and helped a very stressful day relatively painless.

It could not have gone more smoothly, from beginning to end. The entire process from the first contact with New City through the end of the move was professional, quick, friendly and accommodating. The 3-man crew arrived a little before the scheduled time, were polite, friendly, fast, professional and happy to do the "last minute" things I needed (that come with every move). I asked them to relocate a bed and a couple of chairs and they agreed readily. On the other end, they fixed the bad assembly job we did on my daughter's Ikea bed quickly and without skipping a beat during the move. I honestly don't know how it could have gone any better.
