They did a great job. The cost was reasonable, it was a better estimate than we got from other movers. They were really careful with all of our things, they wrapped everything carefully, nothing was broken or scratched, and they arrived early and finished early, which was nice. They did a really good job. They were friendly, helpful, and nice guys. The move turned out good.

They were great, wonderful. They had an office staff to schedule and you could schedule online. The guys showed up on time and worked hard.

Our experience with New City Moving was great! I was first impressed with the level of communication that I received over the phone when talking to Clare. She was very helpful and informative when I called to inquire about their moving services. She then followed up with a email detailing everything we had discussed. The guy that came over to give the estimate was also friendly and gave me a few tips to make the move process easier. We did most of the packing ourselves, but he suggested letting them pack the kitchen dishes. We followed his advice and nothing was broken. Before deciding on New City Moving, I took a couple of competitive bids and New City was one of the more reasonable movers. We were pleasantly surprised when the final price came in a few hundred dollars less than the original bid. On the day of the move, the crew showed up on time and ready to work. They were very professional and worked with us to get all of our items situated in the new house. They completed the entire job in less time and for less money than originally planned with nothing broken or damaged. We hope that we won't need to move again anytime soon, but if we do, we would not hesitate to use New City Movers again.

Eduardo and Isador arrived promptly and worked quickly. They were friendly, courteous, and a pleasure to work with ? all on a snowy, freezing day. I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again.

New City Movers were on time (early in fact), professional and efficient in moving my mother-in-laws furniture to storage. Everything in the condo building was left in a clean manner (hallways/elevator/entry way). The men were considerate and helpful. Packing of stuff was available but we had done that prior to their arrival.

We had to cancel our first move literally the day of. I was prepared to pay a penalty. Caryn, our sales contact, was very understanding, no attitude & rescheduled us 2 weeks later. Again, the guys were promptly there on time & ready to roll. See above for what they did. We provided lunch as well as great tips for each gentleman. They went above & beyond every step of the way. Would highly recommend.

From start to finish New City move were fantastic. Everybody I dealt with was extremely professional. Highly recommended.

I was concerned that my move would be too small for any commercial mover. New City Moving treated me professional (and well) and treated my move as if I was moving a whole household. The crew was pleasant, professional and simply excellent. They were on time and worked quickly and efficiently. If I ever have to move again I definitely will use New City.

They were really good. I've used them in the past when I had to take things out of the storage and I have used them a couple of times and they were great.

I highly recommend this company. Staff very courteous, neat, cooperative in loading and unloading. The place furniture, etc., where we wanted. They were on time. Neat, good packing, especially for breakables. Price was very reasonable.

They were there at EXACTLY 8:00. I had to run to keep up with them, Moved 2 bedroom condo to storage in 2 1/2 hours---20% under their estimate. I can't wait to move again.

I contacted New City Moving when my daughter needed to move from Chicago to Palatine. I called and spoke to Caryn who was very professional and helpful. We made the arrangements and on the day of the move it couldn't have gone smoother. The 3 man crew consisted of Jose E Julio S and Carlos A. They too were very professional helpful and quick. They arrived a little early which was fine and had her packed and moved into her new apartment in about 3 hours. The end price was the exact price I was quoted. I will keep them in mind if I have any other moving needs. Overall I was very pleased with the price the move and care they took with her belongings

The despatch and moving administrators were excellent and very prompt and responsive. They communicated everything in advance and were very helpful. The moving team were early, which wasn't a problem, and were very efficient at moving our belongings, especially as the place we were moving from was up several flights of stairs. They were very courteous. A table was scratched and the team leader immediately told us. They cleared up after themselves. The reason for the mark down on quality was because the team took apart a day bed and put it back together incorrectly (despite being offered the instructions). The bed had clearly not been put back together correctly but the mattress had been put back on top. I will give the benefit of the doubt that this was not to cover up the fact that the bed had definitely not been put back together correctly. The bed took them a considerable time to take apart and put back together which meant that I was charged more for the move than I really should have been. I ended up taking apart the bed and putting it back together myself. If the bed had been used as it had been left it would most definitely have been broken. It would have been better to have either accepted the instructions or to have admitted defeat. Especially as some of the screws and pieces of the bed were missing (these pieces were there when the bed was originally put together) after I took it all apart to put back together again. In fairness to the crew, I did not request that they redo the bed at the time as it was clear they were having difficulty with it and had already overrun the quoted time (I do appreciate that the quoted time was an estimate and the estimate was reasonable). Without the difficulties of the day bed, the move would easily have been completed within the estimated time and without issue. That being said, I would definitely use New City Moving again as the support staff and price were excellent. I would just probably dismantle the day bed and any other furniture myself to avoid any recurrence.

"Hey uh what are you gonna do with that bed??" Unloading at the new house, New City Movers said the queen box spring would not fit up the stairs to the guest room. We told them to take it to the basement, and that would we address it another day. Instead of doing that, more than one mover asked each of us more than once -- "what are you going to do with that bed??" or pointing to another mover -- "Hey he needs a bed for his son what are you going to do with that bed??" The rest of our personal possessions were still on the trucks waiting to be moved in... "Hey what are you going to do with that bed??" We wanted everything unloaded and brought inside undamaged and without delay? "Hey what are you going to do with that bed??" We absolutely did not need the extra pressure of being asked over and over to give away furniture in the middle of a hectic moving day? "Hey what are you going to do with that bed??" We paid New City Movers to remove a hardly-used (guest room furniture) high quality Simmons pillow top queen size mattress box spring and frame from one house?. paid to travel across town with it? and paid them to move it into another house... We obviously wanted to keep it, not give it away to anyone! "What are you doing with that bed??" When we said "basement" that should have been the final word. But it wasn?t, we heard over and over: "Hey uh what are you gonna do with that bed??" We finally gave in to the nagging and pressure, primarily because we had endured enough stress on moving day as it was, we had had enough. The crew took the time (on our dime) to wrap our mattress in moving plastic (also on our dime) and took it away. "Hey uh what are you gonna do with that bed??" After the move I complained to New City Movers: · No one denied these things happened, only that they were (still) looking into it. · After complaining, New City Movers reported they have a company policy ? its movers are not to ask customers to give them things. If that is true, then customers should be made aware if it up front and with every transaction. Knowing that policy would have eased the rejection of so many unwanted & repeat requests by New City Movers employees. It begs the question why such a policy is even needed in the first place, in my opinion. · By phone, the resolution proposed by the owner was that he "get the bed back" although no has actually admitted they have it, nor do they admit knowing where it has been. (Really? Here, in the bed bud capital of America, do you really think I want a bed that has been used by complete strangers and/or their friends, relatives, pets, etc?) · By email, the owner tried to involve his lawyer, implying that I might be intending to commit defamation with an Angie's List review. He later tried to back down from that, although via a third party only. So, instead of having a queen bed in the basement needing only a 2-piece box spring, we were left with nothing. $2,573 Fees & Tips Paid + $1,200 Cost difference split box spring (only) vs 100% replacement = very expensive move, would never use this company ever again "Hey uh what are you gonna do with that bed??"

Could be the best move we have ever experienced. On time, fast and professional. Daryl headed up the crew and was on top of it the whole time. Excellent job.

I am extremely satisfied with the hard work and professionalism of the men from New City Moving. They worked non-stop and did not break a single item. They brought three trucks and 8 men for the job and did not leave until the work was fully completed to my satisfaction. Always a smiling despite carrying so many boxes. I gladly bought them lunch and dinner considering how nice they treated my stuff and how hard they worked. I truly felt that they deserved a generous tip which I was happy to oblige. I would use them again without reservation. I am still very grateful for that day as considering all the horror stories one reads bout other people moving. Hats off for the owners of the company for hiring nice people like this.

Second time using New City Moving and I'm sure I'll use them again! Very professional from set up to the final payment. Received a call on move day asking if I could be ready earlier - absolutely! Jose and team arrived and completed my move (including a 20 minute drive and lots of stairs!) in about 2 hours! Payment was easy and very reasonable! I appreciate people who are good at their jobs and New City Moving is GREAT at their job!

New City were amazing from beginning to end. Their representative was prompt to do an assessment and estimate of the moving costs. I appreciated that they were very conservative with their estimate, virtually guaranteeing that they came in under the estimate. In fact, they were nearly 600 dollars under their estimate which was a great way to start off in the new house. Fillipe and his crew were incredibly efficient, fast (completing the whole loading and unloading in 6 hours). Everything was treated with care and there were no damaged, lost or ill-treated items. I would not hesitate to use them again or recommend them to friends.

The entire team was great at communicating throughout the process beginning with the site visit & quote and then planning, scheduling, and performing our moving activities. The 4-man crew arrived on time and were very efficient and thorough and they were very responsive to our requests. Great experience. Thanks!

Currently selling one place and moving to another. Everything about the sale and move has been difficult. I also have a lot of glass and metal furniture so I was nervous about the move. New City was outstanding. They were very quick to respond to the request for a quote, booked the time and date fast, got me the information I needed. I was impressed that they called me one business day before the move to confirm the appointment so I didn't have to worry. They showed up exactly on time which I know is almost impossible to do. The movers were fast, efficient, picked up all their trash after they were done at both locations. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I would request Ricky and his team, they work really well together. Paying by the hour could make some people nervous but there is no wasted time with this group- they kept busy and moved at a very fast pace the entire move. Worth every penny and then some.

They were prompt, professional, efficient and friendly. Came in and got right to work. Finished well under the original estimate. Very honest company.

Movers moved a small townhouse with a few large furniture from northside of chicago to southloop. Only took them about an hour to wrap and move all the items. about 1 hour to drive and then about 45 minutes to unload. It helped that I had already moved all the small furniture and boxes. Guys were on time, professional and fast. Would use again. Even tipped them $60 and still felt it was good value

I was initially scared when I received the quote but was assured I would only pay for the services I received. The movers were on time and worked efficiently. They completed the move in 1/2 of the estimated time.

Having never hired a mover before, I wasn't aware that you needed an exact count of boxes and items. The schedulers really worked with me to ensure that I had the right size truck. The movers were great - we were amazed at the number of items they could stack on their back! The move itself cost less than the quote provided.
