Everything went great! The process of scheduling was clear, easy, and personal. I interacted with a person, not an automated machine, which was nice. They answered all my questions and were easy to get ahold of. They confirmed the day before which was reassuring. They arrived right on time and were ready to get going right away - no surprises. They were very efficient as a team. The three men were all friendly, energetic, and professional. They did the work quickly (faster than expected) so the price I paid was significantly lower than the quote and half the price that another moving company had quoted me. They didn't break anything and were mindful of where they should put things in the new place. Overall I had no complaints! The move went as smoothly as possible and I would definitely call them again when we move back out to the suburbs in a few years. Thanks!

Fernando and Freddy were completely wonderful. They were punctual, professional, and personable. They handled the furniture and both homes with care, wrapping and unwrapping each piece, tightening a loose leg, maneuvering all pieces through tight spaces, and placing everything where requested. They were so efficient that the cost came in at less than the original estimate. Every aspect of this furniture move from the original contact with the company to the end was excellent. I have rarely had such good service from any kind of provider. I will use New City Moving for any future needs and recommend them without hesitation.

They we excellent. Arrived on time and provided quick efficient and professional service. I would definitely recommend and use them again. This was not a small move, I had a 4-man crew and two trucks. I've dealt with quite a few movers over the years and only wish that I had found this Company sooner. In any case, on my biggest move, they were perfect - Not only that, but they came in under budget. I couldn't ask for more.

Scheduling with New City was very easy. I didn't always talk with my 'moving coordinator' but anyone who answered the phone was very friendly and very eager to help answer my questions. We were originally scheduled for 2 trucks and 4 men, but when I updated my inventory list a few days before the move they changed me to 5 guys and just sent over the new contract without explaining why they increased me to 5 men. I didn't fight it because while it was a higher hourly rate I figured the 5 men could do the move quicker than 4. The team arrived right on time and started moving out all of our prepacked boxes. They were very polite and cordial and their sense of humor made a stressful, busy day a little more fun. They shrink-wrapped all the furniture, including the cheap IKEA stuff that didn't need to be wrapped, but I didn't tell them otherwise. We had a huge sectional couch and one piece does not fit in the elevator. They had to carry the couch piece down 16 flights of stairs, and they didn't complain at all. We had an offsite storage unit they needed to empty as well, and after they emptied the condo they headed over there with the two trucks, only to find the second smaller truck had run out of gas. They left that truck behind and took the bigger truck to the storage unit. Since they were down a truck they had to reorganize the first truck to be able to fit all of our belongings into it. Our mattresses wouldn't fit so they were strapped to the back of the truck. This did make me a little mad because I paid to have my belongings moved in a truck, not attached to a truck. Luckily they had done such a good job wrapping the mattresses that they were just fine when they arrived. When they did arrive at the new house and began emptying the truck they continued to impress me. We had all the furniture and boxes labeled with the rooms they needed to go in, so they were able to navigate themselves through the house very easily. However, when placing the furniture in each room, they asked us where we wanted each piece rather than just dropping them in the room. Maybe this is common practice, but I appreciated that they were trying to eliminate work for us to rearrange the rooms. Our large couch caused more issues in the new house. We wanted to put it in the basement, but with the arrangement of the basement door the couch was too big. The team tried to get it down there but quickly realized they couldn't. We had to do a last minute furniture swap between the family room and the basement. The team helped us assess the situation and moved the furniture in multiple different arrangements until we were happy. At the last minute we decided to move a table set (coffee, end, and console) from the living room to the basement. They were about to walk out the door so we almost didn't ask, but glad we did because they did it quickly and effortlessly. To top it off, I did not have one piece of furniture or or one wall with damage. It was raining out as they emptied the truck into my new place and they put down a cloth for their feet and tried their best to be dry when they came in. All in all, New City Movers were well worth the price we paid for the piece of mind of a smooth, effortless move.

I will give them "A" in everything because they were terrific and they didn't damage anything, they wrapped all the furniture properly. They were curious in everything they were doing.

New City Moving was amazing. I had to reschedule my move several times and they were awesome about it. So nice and understanding, did their best to accommodate my needs. On the day of the move, the movers were early which was great! They moved so fast, they finished way earlier then estimated which saved me money in the end. I would 100% recommend New City Moving Every time. I have moved 8 times in the city of Chicago and they were by far the best experience that I have ever had. I was thoroughly impressed with the services provided by New City Moving Company. I did so much research on movers as I had a bit of anxiety picking a service that I felt were honest, professional while still being reasonable in price. My experience with New City Moving was smooth from the very beginning -- from receiving an estimate, booking services and the move itself. I had a large number of questions to be answered prior to scheduling services. New City was the only one that was prompt and answered my questions thoroughly. On the day of the move, 3 men showed up -- Edwardo was the foreman. All three were very efficient, thoroughly and professional. All my items arrived and were accounted for. There were a couple items that had some dings and one of my plastic bin tops were damaged but overall all my items arrived perfectly. I think it's probably not reasonable to assume all items are going to arrive in perfect condition :). They were completely pretty much within the time estimated. My overall cost vs. the estimate I was given was about a $40 difference which I felt was reasonable. Honestly, this was a very anticipated stressful move for me and Edwardo and team really took that worry away and I was so pleased with the service. I will ALWAYS be going through New City Moving company for my next move. I feel it's hard to find quality service in this area and I feel very pleased I found a quality company to trust in my moving endeavors. I have already recommended them for 2 of my good friends moving in the next couple months. Book your service you will not be disappointed!!

They were fantastic. We chose not to have them pack for us. Nothing was broken and they went through the trouble of taking of their shoes even when they were carrying large furniture. The price was good too. One thing to note that their project manager and their sales team are just the nicest people. They were really accommodating and way nice to deal with.

The movers were excellent. They showed up time, worked efficiently, and even did a few things for us to help us out. There were 4 movers and all of them worked hard to get our move done in the most efficient and safe way possible. They asked us several times where t hings belonged and even put the furniture protectors on all our furniture. I needed some help moving some things inside the house and they were happy to do so. All in all, this is the best moving company I have ever used.

Movers showed up on time. They packed everything with care and speed. They didn't even stop for lunch and hauled everything to the new house. Unloaded each box at the exact room we wanted. The actual cost came in lower than the estimate. Everyone was friendly. Now all I need to do is unpack.

The workers were polite even when I had concerns, they responded nicely and assured me they had it under control and they did!!! If you are looking for efficient quality movers this is the company to go with!!!

This was a great experience. I read the reviews on Angie's List before I called. My experience from start to finish was excellent. Melody, Stephanie, Nick, Christian & Crew were true professionals. Each was always a pleasure to deal with and made the unpleasant experience of moving so much easier. Crew arrive a little before start time of 8am and finished close to the estimated time. Have already recommended them to someone. Not that I want to move again, but if I have to, NCM would be my first choice.

I contacted Windy City Movers after initially seeing their billboard, but also receiving positive reports from co-workers who also used them for their move. My representative Clare McDevitt was great to deal with and was always very responsive to my questions and concerns. The movers were prompt, professional, and very courteous. They helped make what is usually a stressful situation very easy for us.

The crew was very professional and punctual. They were extremely expedient about the move. I must say I was very stressed over the move as well as time being an issue. New City Movers made the day effortless and pleasant! A close friend called during the move and all I could say is " I have the best movers in the whole wide world! " Not only were they great but it was significantly less than quoted.I will never use anyone else....

It went perfectly. The works were wonderful. The packing and unpacking was just right. The team was careful and friendly. Moving is not fun, but this company made it that way! Thank you New City.

We found them through Angie's list. My experience with them was great. They were on time and friendly. Only one thing was damaged during the moving. They're more expensive than some movers but you get what you pay for by far.

Carlos, Israel and Alfonso, the moving crew, were fantastic. They worked really hard and were conscientious, kind and patient. Carlos is a logistics wizard. I would highly recommend them to anyone. Caryn also provided excellent customer service from the very beginning. My main problem with the company was the phone call I received that morning saying that they could come out earlier than the 1 p.m. scheduled time - was I interested in moving it up? So instead of doing something else, we waited and waited for them only to find out at 12:15 - when I finally called them out of exasperation - that they were running behind, not ahead. Why didn't they call and tell me this? We wasted so much of our valuable time just waiting around for them to call. I was not happy.

The owner himself came to estimate the the packing time of the move. He grossly underestimated the time which caused an avalanche of problems in my new residence. In addition items were not packed properly, many were broken; items that shouldn't have been packed were packed (even though they were clearly marked); items that should have been packed, such as 4-foot shelves, were left behind. Hardwood floors which should have been protected weren't. The move wasn't completed which resulted in (1) me staying in a hotel overnight and (2) 1/3 of my boxes being RETURNED to my former residence. I was forced to pay my former landlord an extra week of storage for the boxes. Even though unpacking was in the contract, the movers almost left without doing that. While packing/unpacking I witnessed the movers throwing my boxes around. The company did compensate me for the hotel, but over a week later I'm still trying to get my things moved in. A nightmare. Do not use this company. June 29, 2015: Although the company has offered me $200 compensation for the thousands of dollars worth of damage they have caused, along with personal stress, I have turned it down. The reason being that if I accept it, they said I would need to sign a contract stating that I could not post anything negative about them on an social media and this review would have to be retracted. This could explain why there are no other bad ratings for this company.

Moving is such a stressful experience, but New City took away some of that stress! This was an excellent experience from beginning to end. My initial contact with Melody was pleasant and easy. She was very responsive and followed up with me immediately. Their online inventory tool is easy to use and very helpful. The moving crew of Julio, Efrain and Carlos were amazing. They worked together like a well-oiled machine and were able to get everything loaded onto the truck in just about two hours. All three of them were super polite and friendly. I asked New City to store my stuff for one night and I was really happy that the same three workers showed up the next day to unload my belongings into my new house. This part of the move was much more difficult as my new place has three floors. But they did a great job and were careful in negotiating the staircases and tight corners. In addition to the excellent service, New City's price was way better than some of the other moving companies I researched. New City has my highest recommendation and I will definitely use them again.

New City was great from the start. The office staff was wonderful. I booked my date a month in advance and they called me two days before my move to confirm everything. My moving crew arrived a few minutes early and were ready to get to work. They took great care wrapping my furniture, which I do appreciate so much. They did use far more packing materials (plastic wrap and tape) than was necessary, hence going way over my estimate on the materials portion by a very large amount. That said, all of my belongings arrived in good shape except for one scratch on my media cabinet door, which I didn't notice until a couple days later when I was unpacking. These guys worked so hard, including shoveling a path in the snow to put the ramp down from the truck in my new location. The time estimate would have been right on target had they not needed to shovel the snow, which accounted for the 15 minutes they were over. I highly recommend New City and will use them again for my next move!

It went great. The movers were excellent and Christian was the foreman was amazing. Plus, they came in under the estimate with nothing broken

I contacted three different movers (all with great reviews on Angie's List) to give us estimates for our cross-town move. Much to my surprise, New City's estimate was about 40% lower than one estimate and about 30% lower than another. (Their final bill was a little higher than the estimate but still $1350 lower than the next-lowest estimate.) Start to finish, from scheduling the estimate through the final post-move paperwork, they were exceedingly professional, courtesou, and punctual. Their back-office operation is first rate. They remain in regular contact and are very vigilant that everything is on time and on track. (I've moved a lot and I've never seen this much follow-up and follow-through by any moving company.) The packers and movers were all really great people. They worked fast but carefully. They listened to us on instructions, and they were very well organized and coordinated. It was bitter cold outside, but that didn't stop them. As noted, the final bill was a few hundred bucks higher than the estimate, but still extremely competitive and worthwhile. Probably the best single moving experience I've had, and I've been through a LOT of moves.

Someone came out to give us a quote several weeks before the move. the price they charged us on moving day ended up being several hundred dollars less than the quote. a team of 5 men moved our stuff. they showed up on time and worked fast. they were very careful with our wood floors. we moved in the winter when there was lots of snow and salt on the ground. they were careful to put down floor protectors and not get the floors messy. they moved furniture carefully to make sure not to scratch the floors.
