They were ok on respnsiveness and arrival , nothing exceptional, job was not completed.
Description of Work: We had squirrles in the attic and they came out and set traps which never caught any animals and as the weather turned warmer the squirrles left but are back again. This is the second time we have used them to no avail. I will contract a new provider this time.

Our experience with Nevernest Pest Control has been exceedingly positive. Everyone with whom we came in contact, from the receptionist Eva to each technician who responded, was extremely sensitive, responsive, professional, and effective. I have already recommened Nevernest to several neighbors and would highly recommend them to anyone who has pest control problems. Thank Goodness for Angie's List!!!!!
Description of Work: I discovered evidence of rodent activity in my individual condo unit. Upon further inspection, a large rodent hole was discovered in the basement of the condo. A member of Angie's List, I immediately researched possible pest control resources using Angie's List magazine and online reports. Two potential resources were selected and messages were left with each. Nevernest was the second resource contacted and Eva responded within a couple of hours, sending a resource later that same day. The initial technician, Albert, inspected the entire premises, inside and out, treated multiple areas with bait, and placed bait and traps at the point of rodent entry. Later that evening I heard the clap of a trap and went into the basement to discover the rodent partially caught in the trap and vigorously struggling to escape. Fearful that the creature would escape, I called Nevernest and explained the situation to Eva. It was now past 8:00 p.m. but within an hour Thaddeus (Ted) arrived, inspected the trap and, realizing that the rodent had indeed escaped, fully inspected the premises again for any activity and re-set the traps. Several days later, I contacted Nevernest and asked Eva if someone could check the still open rodent hole to ascertain if it could now be sealed since there was no further evidence of rodent activity. Brian arrived, performed another very thorough inspection of my basement as well as storage areas of other condo owners. Brian discovered droppings and evidence of chewing in additional condo areas and placed additional bait and traps. After several days I began to notice a pungent and unpleasant odor in the common area of the condo basement. Based on input from another owner, we surmised that the odor was coming from one of the storage areas. I again contacted Nevernest and within hours Brian arrived. He inspected the suspect area, discovered the dead and decomposing rodent, removed it, and sprayed and sanitized the area.

Company technician worked in my unit for six days and failed to eliminate the problem. Was an hour late the first day. Didn't show up at all on a day he was scheduled to work. Claimed he had been there, but admitted to lying after I told him that building records showed he had not signed out the key to my unit that day. By the fourth day, he had hardly done any work outside the kitchen, and I had to prod him to move on to other rooms In fairness, the company gave me an extra free day to make up for some of these problems. And I will also say the woman who answers their phones was pleasant and responsive. But I'd never use this company again. RESPONSE TO PROVIDER RESPONSE Considering the technician established himself as a dishonest person when I dealt with him, I am not surprised by this response to my review. But, to set the record straight, I did not INSIST that the company come out on a daily basis. I asked the technician for his recommendation, and that was his recommendation. I am a lay person as far as pest control, and do not have the knowledge to insist on anything as far as the frequency of treatment. At NO TIME did the company tell me that treatment did not need to be repeated on a daily basis. On the contrary, the technician said a week's treatment was necessary to deal with the problem effectively. The provider's response is an admission that the company provided service they knew I didn't need. And it is not true that I told the technician at the outset that I only had a week to clean up the problem. That time frame was established only after the building asked me how long it was going to take, and I told them a week, based on what the technician had told me. Morever, the technician did not make any of the recommendations about my condo claimed in the Provider Response, except regarding the cat litter. And even there, the cat litter was hardly "all over"--it was the normal spillage associated with the cats' use of the litter box, which I sweep up on a daily basis. The other recommendations were never made. This stuff about cleaning up the kitchen, sticky cabinets and walls is pure nonsense.. And, in any case, was I supposed to do a thorough cleaning of my unit in the middle of an extermination process? I wasn't even around to do a cleanup because I was staying at a hotel with my animals to minimize our exposure to the toxic chemicals he was using. The technician knew where I was, and it is outrageous that he claim I "refused" to do a` cleanup.. The technician himself left me messes to clean up which he should have taken care of. The Provider claims no roaches were observed on the technician's last visit, but I observed them when I got home that very day, and I failed the inspection the next day. The technician never seemed to have a clear plan of attack--just a little of this here, a little of that there. He only left two bait traps in my entire two-bedroom unit. At the same time the provider claims success in eradicating he roaches in my unit, he states it was almost impossible to elimate roaches in my unit, since the units around me had the same problem. The provider did not work in any other unit and did not have a chance to inspect any other unit, so his statement is without any factual basis. I got a much better company after this fiasco and they eliminated the roaches completely in two visits--and not because they just put the finishing touches on a job that Nevernest had essentially completed. The second company found a substantial infestation just a couple of days after Nevernest concluded their work--far too many to have "come back" after a successful eradication. What is the point that I waited two months to write this review? Is the implication that I would have written the review sooner if I really had had a problem with their work? I initially wasn't going to bother writing a review at all, because I just wanted to put my dealings with this company behind me. But, in September, Angie's List prompted me to write a review, and I decided the miserable experience I had with this company should not go unreported. Based on the provider's response, I have now filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau to recover most of the money I paid to the company. Not only were they ineffective, but they sold me service they knew to be unnecessary, and should not be allowed to profit from their malfeasance. Update on Better Business Bureau complaint: The company resolved the complaint in a courteous and professional manner.
Description of Work: Roach extermination throughout my condo.

Response from Nevernest Pest Control
We tried to explain to the customer that the treatment does not need to be repeated on daily basis because the bait formulations that were applied need time to work. Reapplying them over every day does not speed up the process. Since he insisted, we said we would come out and use a combination of baits and sprayers and try to get rid of the problem for him in a week. A week is all he had because the buildings association was pressing on him, since he was the cause of the buildings problems and was going to have an inspection in a week to check whether he was working on the problem. When the technician inspected the apartment during the initial service, he tried to politely let him know what he needs to do to help us get rid of them and then avoid the problem in the future. The recommendations were to clean up the kitchen, sticky cabinets, and walls in the bathroom which had cat's litter all over. When the tech came back to retreat the unit, only the kitchen was cleaned. We tried to help him out to minimize the problem in a week but if we are limited to only one unit, with units around him having the same problem, and with him ignoring our recommendations - it was nearly impossible. However, during our last visit, no roaches were observed. Since other units around him had the same problem, the roaches most likely came back. He waited two months to post this review.

On time, did what they said they would do, a reasonable price for the city, a guarantee to work for 3 months. I am pleased.
Description of Work: Came out quickly. Very knowledgable woman on the phone told me first what they would be able to do to get rid of gnats in my front yard. First, pellets on the ground to kill nests, second, a spray to kill surface gnats. This is exactly what the technician did. 30 minutes tops, service guaranteed for 3 months.

HORRIBLE. I had used this company in the past and had been happy with their service. I paid $200 for them to put two traps in my front yard. They never even walked around the property to determine if there might be a better place to put them. It was all of a 10 minute visit. I caught no squirrels for the first week. After 3 phone calls by me, and 1 by my husband, I finally got a response and they put the traps on the back roof. They'll only put two traps out at a time, and charge $60 to pick up the squirrels each time. I have at least 10 squirrels to catch, probably more. I have had squirrel number 3 waiting to be picked up for 24 hours, and I'm still waiting. They gave me a 2 hour time period yesterday to come , and never showed, and a 1 hour window today, and I don't know if they'll show today. AWFUL, HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH THIS COMPANY. NEVER AGAIN.
Description of Work: They were supposed to get squirrels that had entered and nested under the eaves.

$200

Response from Nevernest Pest Control
The $200 includes the initial inspection, set up fee and 1st pick up of the animals. Our initial service charge is $150 and $55 for the pick ups. Since the lady was a previous customer we gave her a break on the pick ups. We helped her out with a rodent problem in the past, and she gave us a 5 star rating and was real happy with the service. This time she has a wild life problem with which comes good and bad situations. Easy and hard. We placed the cages in a spot where she would be able to monitor and see whether an animal is caught. The property is owned by cats and neighbors were feeding the squirrels which made it even harder to get the squirrels to go for the cages. The customer has asked us to place the cages on her pitched roof. If we did, they would fall of with the animals inside, possibly hurting the animal and damaging the cage. The only way to avoid it, would be to attach the cages using screws which could possibly make her NEW roof leak in the future. We refused to do that and relocated the cages to a different spot. 2 squirrels were caught within 24hrs and a prompt pick up was made. The next pick up was scheduled with a 2hr window on a day where we were short on staff. The tech has called the lady to let her know he was running behind but was on his way. The lady informed us it was too late and she had to go. The pick up was made the next day and a live animal was taken away. At this point the customer has asked us to take the cages away and would not let us finish the job. We don't have a killing facility and try to be as humane with the animals as possible. We relocate them out of town in order for them not to come back. This, for a smaller company as we are, is time consuming and, as much as we try, makes it hard to keep everyone happy. It is the nature of the business that involves emergency calls coming in every day, at different times of the day, that has great impact on our schedule. We're here to help and don't leave until the problem is resolved. We wish the lady all the best and hope the squirrels that were taken away so far, were the only ones living in her house and hope she is ready to have the openings closed up. P.S. It is impossible to have 10 or more squirrels living in the same house. A family of squirrels usually counts about 5-6 or less.

Birds that were living in the vent above my bathroom started digging a hole through my ceiling on a Saturday morning. I called Never Nest and they were able to come out a few hours later. They removed the nests and sealed up my vent and another on our building. The vent covers they installed didn't match our other ones and were these cage-like things that the squirrels used for climbing and chewing, so they let me buy the style that I wanted and came out a few weeks later to install them.

Overall, I would say it went well since we haven't seen anything here that shouldn't be here and I haven't had any bites. I would use them again, and request Armando, probably in the Spring.
Description of Work: I woke up to spider bites and panicked because company from out of state was coming in the next day to spend a week with us. After calling Angie's List I looked at the addresses and called the one business closest to my house. Although Nevernest said they had a full schedule I told them this was an emergency because I couldn not have my guests be eaten by spiders. They scheduled an evening appointment and sent Armando, who did an excellent job. He sprayed everywhere and answered all my questions.

Overall, we had a great experience with Nevernest Pest Control. After calling Nevernest, they sent someone over right away. It was after business hours and on the weekend. So, the $150 they charged was very reasonable. Armando helped set up traps and bait. He was very courteous and professional. We woke up the next morning and the rodent has been caught in one of the traps! We felt that they are experienced, knowledgable and punctual. Definitely would recommend them to all of our friends. Would use them again in a heartbeat, but hopefully we won't need to.

We thought we might have had a rat so they put a bunch of traps down. All I know is that the rat is gone whether he caught it or not, I'm really not sure. They charged us $150 for the service call and we spent an extra $100 on the permanent traps. Intitially I thought we were getting a good price, until we paid for the traps. I felt like it ended up being more expensive than I had expected. I still think that their pricing was fair.

I called Nevernest on Friday, June 26. The girl I talked to on the phone was very knowledgeable and actually correctly diagnosed our bug problem over the phone with just a description of the bugs we were seeing. She scheduled an appointment for a technician to come out the next day between 10-11am. She quoted me a price of $150 and that was exactly what we ended up paying. At 11am on Saturday, the tech called and said he was about 20 minutes away. He finally showed up at 11:40am. He came in, saw our problem and treated our drains to get rid of the drain flies we had. He was very professional and courteous and answered all of our questions. I was happy with everything except how late the tech was. I wouldn't have minded if the appointment had been between 10-12pm - as long as they would have shown up when they said they would. It really sucks to sit around on a Saturday, waiting for someone who is late.

I was very happy with the professionalism of the staff. I couldn't find anyone who could come right away because we had found a mouse in our basement. Most companies either did not respond timely or could not send a technician same day. They came within hours of my call. They pointed out entry points and solutions before leaving, also suggesting a follow up in three months if necessary.
Description of Work: Technician came over and inspected the premises. He applied solutions as needed without suggesting additional costly unnecessary solutions. He also used my bait stations(which I guess were extra)and placed it in a more appropriate location.

Prior to discovering that the big tree out front was the problem, we had them come out two years ago to address ants in our house, which turned out to be carpenter ants. They treated it and it went away and we were happy. This year our neighbor informed us that the tree in front of our house had a large number of ants coming out of it, and as it turns out, this is the nest and the real problem. They have been out twice since then for serious treatment of the tree, and so far so good.
Description of Work: We have used Nevernest before for our ant problems, and despite the fact that we have had to call on them again, we are very happy with their service. There is a big tree the city will not remove that is the root cause of our problems, and they have been excellent in their service.
