Mr. Handyman of Lincoln Park

Eric had came last week to do the job but could not finish because the movers had not finished, came back today to complete the tasks. He did a great job and explained how and why he was doing what ever he did.

Excellent, Eric was very knowledgeable and easily tackled all projects.

The scheduling was very easy. I called on Wednesday and they were able to come out on my day off which was Friday. The service technician that came out was very friendly. It's nice to know that they run criminal background checks on their technicians and also do drug testing. I was very comfortable being a single woman. My technician Frank was able to get all my projects done in one visit. It's nice to know that one technician can do multiple projects such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry ect..because in the past I've had to take off multiple days off to coordinate all my projects.

Excellent service. Customer service rep was very friendly on the phone. She was able to get me on the schedule the following day as I had a big party that weekend, so that was very nice. The service technician arrived at my home on time. He explained the job to me in full detail. He seemed very knowlegable about the work. I was also impressed that they do background checks and drug screens. You never know who could be coming into your home these days. As a single woman, I felt safe knowing that they did not send some crazed criminal to my home. The technician did a very good job. He even helped answer a few questions I had about a leak coming through a window. I will be calling Mr Handyman again for future projects.

We initially had Mr. Handyman out to fix some ceiling fans (3 of them) that had stopped working and do assorted other minor-ish things around the house (securing a drain, grouting, etc.). He was there for about 3 hours and was great--he fixed everything, was courteous (funny, even) and respectful of our space and the other workers (we were getting the house painted at the same time. We were so impressed with their service that we had them come out to install a backsplash (which was a 2-day job and why the cost of service is so high; note that he also bought some of the materials for that job). He did a great job installing the backsplash (which involved a lot of intricate work because there are a lot of outlets/light switches/window sills that he had to work around. Overall, super-pleased and will use them as our go-to handyman in the future (I'm actually constructing my next "to do" list now....).

The worker came on time and did the work well. The work on the stairs was challenging because they are probably 100 years old and have some cracks. No two treads or risers are exactly the same size. The worker removed them carefully and numbered them on the first day. When he came back to reinstall them, he used screws because nails (which had held them together) would have cracked them further. He also added extra reinforcement to a riser that had a particularly long crack.

We were very happy with their service, the pricing and everything. We didn't have any complaints about it. We've used them more than once. They are prompt, they are able to do what they say they were going to do, their pricing is fair, they don't mind explaining things as they go along on the job and making alterations as we go.

They were very easygoing, accommodating, and helpful. They gave suggestions and I just really trust them.

the problem was fixed adequately

Technician arrived on time and quickly and efficiently repaired some minor drywall damage from moving, a leaking toilet, and recaulked my shower.

The experience was positive. The price was fair. I need to call them back because the door in my garage won't close.

It went well. Just thought the price was a little high after shopping around.

They were excellent. He was on time, he knew exactly what he was doing, he did the 2 things I needed him for and he was good. I paid a total of $300.

Their quote was really high. It was one of the highest quotes of the quotes I received. They charged me $50 estimate fee. They were professional. I waited a couple of days for the quote, but it was as expected.

It went very well. That was the third time the handyman had come to my house to provide services. He is always friendly, very helpdul and provide great advice on how to proceed with other task we need completed. He is always on time. There is a service fee on top of the hourly rate, but if you schedule another appointment to continue the current one they waive the service fee.

I was extremely satisfied with this service. The service person arrived on time, walked through the house with me as I listed the various tasks, made a couple of useful suggestions and went right to work. I was particularly impressed at how he went about getting a paint match for a small area need our refrigerator which needed repainting. I probably could have done this a bit more cheaply by trying to find someone who did not work for a franchise operation, but the extra cost was worth it in terms of the quality of the work and the efficiency with which it was done.

On time and on Budget. This was done on the top floor of a 3 story walk up at the top of the stairwell. Individual built a tent around the work area so no debris or dust would rain down the stairwell. Work was done quickly and accurately.

It went fine. They kept me in the loop the entire time. It was a very cooperative process so that was good. I was asked every step of the way. They had to go to the hardware store to buy some things.

Friendly booking. Saturday appointments and reliable.

Excellent availability... Called them, and they advised a plumber was available the next day - while other providers quoted availability the next week. Was advised by plumber sent to me that they have a rotation of 15 or so plumbers in the Chicagoland area, which explains their higher availability. Rates were reasonable, service was excellent, and the plumber they sent advised to just replace one of the faucets versus paying for the time to clean out the older, rusted one... A+ for honesty. They have MY repeat business moving forward... You may want to check them out.

We have two full kitchens(one in basement). I've used this company on 3 other occasions and everything has went well. In this case they installed kitchen cabinet handles in the basement first and then in the first floor kitchen. The worker arrived on time and I showed him what needed to be done and he got to work. Drilling caused a lot of dusting, but he was quick to clean it up. The deal was for 79, but we went over the 2 hour special as I had him try to help me install a garage door bottom seal. So total was 94. Would for sure use again.

Service and quality was very good. But I misunderstood their price policy per hour, so the work ended up costing significantly more than I had estimated. Because of the outrageous cost per hour, I would not use them again. I have since found two highly reliable handymen who do excellent work and charge a more fair rate. I have also comparison shopped and this service was the highest in the area. P.S. I don't recall the exact cost

Mr. Handyman of Lincoln Park was good. They were fair, reasonable and fast. It's really quick to get an appointment with them, so it's pretty efficient.

They were not the cheapest but they were really good. It's an hourly rate that they charge. I know they didn't charge me more than they needed to and he didn't take his time. They were real professional and the guy was really nice. They were efficient and friendly. Everybody was really nice all the way from calling them to getting the work order and getting the job done. They were competitively priced.

They accepted my Angie's list coupons with no problem. They did the work in a timely fashion. They underestimated the amount of time it would take, but finished as soon as possible, they didn't put me off. I think the cost was very reasonable for the work they did and it's holding up well.
