Description of Work: Punctual, professional, friendly handyman (I forget his name because it's been a while). He was at my house for 8 hours and performed a variety of tasks. The biggest one was building a riser for my washer and dryer to sit on top of. I went with him to the home improvement store to pick out everything we needed for the day's jobs and he got the lumber he needed for the riser. It turned out great! He also installed new door knobs on a few doors in the house, installed a bolt lock on another door, put in a couple a/c units throughout the house (but didn't ask me first if I was okay with him screwing them into the window frames; I wouldn't have had him do that if I knew he was, but otherwise they're fine). The service was a little more expensive than another company I used, however, in comparison, Mr. Handyman provided a legit do-it-all handyman!

 + 0 moreI spoke to them on the phone and explained I needed the floor and walls of a 7x7 bathroom done. They scheduled 1 day to complete the job, which I questioned. I waited a week for someone to come and get it done, and when the tiler arrived, he took one look at the bathroom, and said it was a two day job, he was not available for a two day job currently, and the whole thing would have to be rescheduled. This was upsetting because I had stressed the need to have my tile done by the upcoming weekend. The tiler didn't seem to care about my personal timing issue. He promptly left and told me to call and reschedule. I am disappointed, and disgusted by the company's lack of understanding at how long it takes to tile a bathroom, and also their blatant disregard to my time line.
Description of Work: I hired Mr. Handyman to do a tiling job for my bathroom.

 + -1 moreThe work was done well, and the rail is now more secure than it was before. The handyman was friendly and knew very well what he was doing. However, he charged three hours for what was two hours and thirty-two minutes.
Description of Work: In order to move a piano out of our apartment, we needed to remove a handrail from a wooden back deck. The handyman removed the rail, waited for the workers and put the rail back up.

Rich's sound advice over the phone allowed us to successfully solve the third problem (electrical ceiling fan not working properly)on our own - this was a real cost savings for us! Jim, the worker who did the other two repairs, was efficient, effective, and very personable. The work was done extremely well and quickly.
Description of Work: Re-grouted cracked ceramic tile in kitchen. Repaired drywall damage in bedroom. Small jobs, but ones that we were having difficulty doing on our own.

 + -1 moreDave worked his tail off. I needed someone to come in and re-caulk the tile in one section of the shower. When he went in to remove the old tile, he found that the board behind it was completed rotted. He tore out the rotted board, replaced the whole board, replaced with new tiles, grouted, caulked. He painted the bedroom... which was no small feat because the previous owner painted the room a deep red. It took at least 5 gallons of paint just for that small room. He also painted the very small and very difficult kitchen. Fixed my light in the kitchen because it was bugging him :-). Dave is excellent and would hire him again. He is a dear man and works very hard.
Description of Work: What didn't he do? Painted the kitchen, bathroom, all window sills (7) and one bedroom. Installed a new hose on the sink. Replaced the tile and caulk in the bathroom shower. Fixed the light in the kitchen.

 + -1 moreTHE HANDYMAN THAT CAME OUT WAS ABLE TO DO BOTH TASKS WITHOUT A PROBLEM. HE WAS THOROUGH AND DID A GREAT JOB. WE HAVEN'T HAD ANY PROBLEMS SINCE WITH EITHER THE FAUCET OR THE LIGHT AND I WOULD DEFINITELY HIRE THEM AGAIN TO DO ODD JOBS AROUND THE HOUSE. WHILE HE WAS OUT, I ASKED HIM ABOUT ANOTHER JOB THAT WE NEEDED DONE - TRIMMING BACK THE IVY ON THE FRONT OF OUR HOUSE - AND HE GAVE ME AN HONEST ANSWER THAT IT WAS NOT SOMETHING THAT THEY COULD DO. I APPRECIATED THAT.
Description of Work: WE NEEDED A NEW KITCHEN FAUCET INSTALLED AND A REPLACEMENT FRONT PORCH LIGHT INSTALLED.
