Mr Carpet Shop at Home

Mr. Carpet installed wall to wall carpet over an entire floor of my house, and at a speed that is breath-taking, really. My Mother-in-law was coming to visit and I wanted carpet before she got there, and they made it happen! They were super nice about it too! The carpet is gorgeous, the padding is nice and thick. They moved furniture to get the job done without complaining. Not cheap, but well worth every penny spent! It's like gaining the use of a huge chunk of the house that was too cold and unpleasant to use before. I have not yet found one imperfection in their work. I will never buy carpet from anyone else. And, thanks to this experience I am thinking of carpeting a whole another floor of my house! I'm not even big on carpet kind of person, or I wasn't. Definitely, the right place to buy carpet.

Very helpful in choosing carpeting that would work for me and provided explanations that made it easier for me to choose carpet and then the installers did a good job - I think it took longer than they planned. The supervisor checked the work when the installations was finished and corrected anything he did think was well done which meant I didn't need any call backs.

A+++ review !!! It has been one of the best experiences I have ever had!!! I left a message on a Saturday evening at 6 pm and received a call back a few minutes later. Unbelievable! Mary was so fantastic and coordinated everything and kept me informed all the time. Bob came out to show me samples and measure and he was very professional and very informative. He also spent a lot of time with me. I had one major issue and that is a floor to ceiling wall unit which takes up a whole wall and is not able to be unassembled. Bob said that was no problem that the installers could go under the posts or cut around them and it would not be noticeable. That is precisely what happened!!! The installers were so precise and so professional and they worked so very hard and did an absolutely fantastic job. I had just had my condo painted and I have very heavy and large furniture and I was worried about damage to the new paint in doorways and baseboards, but very little needs touching up. I wanted really good plush carpeting as I hadn't replaced my carpet in 28 years. By being a member of Angie's List I was able to use the $100 coupon offered in the August catalog and I also received a 10 % senior discount and extra thick padding at no additional charge. The nylon carpet I purchased is guaranteed for 20 years, so it will most likely outlast me. This carpet is like heaven to my feet!!! I just love it!!! A great process from beginning to end. We are very pleased with the various types of carpet installed. (I delayed writing a review until now to "live" with the carpeting for a 3 months). We have received numerous compliments on the new carpet. We recommend Mr. Carpet Shop At Home.

A few bumps in the road because I needed so much carpet. LOL Included in the install was moving all the heavy furniture. I had two separate times they came out to complete this much work. Very respectful and clean. I had the carpet installed two years ago and the carpet is holding up perfectly. Mr. Carpet had to come out because I had a bubble in the walk way. The men came out within a week and fixed it at no charge. Was impressed with how fast and friendly the response back to me was. I love, love my carpet and I am so happy I bought the high quality that I did. If you are looking for a company who stands by their work even years later, then Mr. Carpet is the man you need to call. Home Depot and Menard's are less expensive but they are not as experience, the quality of the carpet is questionable to say the least, installation issues after 90 days can and will not be covered, the really just don't care about the consumer. I highly recommend Mr. Carpet and how they care about the consumer even years later. Now that is service!!

Job went great. I wanted quality work so it was more expensive then I thought. But it was for stairs and we wanted a certain look, so we decided to go with the best provider. Salesman was on time and did a great job with everything. Installers were early and they had to wait for us to get home. But the installation looks great. Did a great job and left us plenty of carpet in case we need to make a replacement.

Shopping was easy. Very happy with the product. At install time, they moved furniture (including a king sized sleigh bed) without apparent difficulty. Got stair runner back when they said they would and installers were tremendous. It was fast and seemingly mess free. They completed on a second day and I am still not 100% sure where they stored their supplies! In August, I happened to notice a tiny flaw that I had not seen at install. So tiny, but perfectionist me...once I saw it, could not stop looking at it (missing fibers). Emailed Mary who promptly came up with an actionable solution and had someone out to fix it within a week based on my schedule at NO CHARGE!

Called Mr. Carpet about two weeks ago and received a phone call back from Mary in less than 12 hours. She set up the appointment for Bob to come out and measure the various area slated for carpeting. Bob arrived on time, took his shoes off and began measuring the areas for replacement. He then showed up various samples of carpeting from three large sample books. He also broke down his estimate to exclude some areas that we thought we would hold off on replacing. We eventually decided to have all the areas re-carpeted so that the carpeting would flow from one area to the other. Got a call the day before the carpeting was to be installed telling me that Carlos and his team would be doing the work and would be at the house between 9-10am. Next morning Carlos called and told us he would be there with his team of two other workers at 8:45 which was fine with us. They came in and immediately began relocating the furniture using profession moving techniques including runners put under the china cabinets which were then moved to another area. Each guy had his own job and they worked very good together. By 11 AM they had all the padding and most of the carpeting installed except for the floating stairs that needed much more work. After laying the carpet they vacuumed all the floors and disposed of the old carpeting. I really liked working with these guys and they knew exactly what to do in every situation.

We had used Mr. Carpet a few years prior after our basement flooded and were very impressed with the sales pitch and service at that time. It was a no brainer to use them again for our upstairs project. The pricing was higher this time around, but we did cover a bit more area and we also chose a higher quality carpet. We are still getting compliments on how soft it is. The installers first removed all the old carpet. We moved much of the furniture ourselves the night before, but what we couldn't they did. Everything came out lovely. I think it is natural to feel the cost could be lower, but we in no way feel swindled. We are pleased with the service and quality of the product for what we paid.

Very happy with entire experience. Very knowledgeable and patient as we made our decision. Most importantly, incredibly easy! I hardly had to exert any effort of my own, and was able to select beautiful carpeting and have it installed perfectly! Felt that it was a little pricy, but you pay for what you get. Such an easy and perfect experience.

Mike is the owner and "Mr. Carpet". Nice enough guy and a good salesman, but I'm sad to say not always honest. We were looking for four bedrooms to be carpeted and willing to pay top dollar to get the job done quickly and done right. Mr. Carpet carries good products. Having said that these are top brands and if you are shopping on price, easily just figure out what you like and shop else where and find a good carpet installer. There is nothing unique or exclusive that Mike carries. Responsive and punctual, yes he is, as he is trying to make his sale and get good feedback. Communication is not his strongest attribute. When miscommunication occurs I'm understanding of such, when you start to become mistruthful, that's where I have an issue. Nothing was said about seams in my carpet installation, do ask him about this. When it was raised on the day of the installation he said he failed to talk about the seams because he was concerned about possible abestos in our unit. Fine, miscommunication, I'm a flexible understanding person. When asked about 15 ft carpet vs the 12 foot roll he delivered that required seams he stated that 15 foot roll didn't exist. He said, "anyone that says they have this product in 15 feet rolls is lying". Well, it does in fact come in 15 foot rolls and when I mentioned this to him he said he didn't know that. So....either Mike lied from the beginning OR he doesn't know his product, not sure which is worse. Worse is the fact he said he got grade 4 (highest quality) carpet for three rooms when we originally ordered grade 3, when he in fact didn't install the better grade 4 carpet. Why the h*** would you make this claim when I ordered grade 3 is beyond me. As an aside, the installers had never met him. They did a great job by the way. But be aware his installer just subs the work out to others. I can handle over paying for good service and high quality product. I can't handle people who are not honest. Find what you like, go buy it yourself or even online, and find some good installers to do the job. You'll pay half the price and be more than happy. Good luck. Do yourself a favor and go buy your carpet else where and for less.

They did an excellent job. ?From the initial consultation to the install, I would recommend using them for any carpet needs.

After reading the wealth of outstanding reviews on both Angie's List and Yelp, I called Mr. Carpet. Mary called back within 20 minutes and scheduled a visit from Mike to show my husband and I samples. Because we are selling our house within the next few years, we picked a good carpet, but not the best available. When it turned out that the carpet we originally selected was going to be delayed (for just 3-4 days), rather than make us wait, Mike offered to upgrade our carpet for the original price. We received a carpet that was actually the one we liked better but that was nearly $2,000 more. Again, he gave us the upgraded carpet for the same, original price. Additionally, he gave us discounts for using both Angie's List and Yelp. I had expected to pay much more, and was surprised by the reasonable price - especially for the very high quality of carpet we ended up with. The installers, led by Carlos, were prompt, efficient and consummate professionals. We have extra heavy furniture, and they moved everything easily and didn't make so much as a single dent in the walls. The carpet looks fantastic and even searching, I cannot find a single seam. Additionally, they vacuumed everything, even the hardwood foyer. There was not a trace of dirt or debris left behind. I would definitely use Mr. Carpet again and recommend them with enthusiasm. Fantastic service, price and installation. I was floored when a few days later, a giant bouquet of flowers arrived - thanking us for using their services. Wow! I should have sent THEM flowers. Thanks so much for a great experience!

I had a wonderful experience. I had tried another of the bigger Chicago area shop at home carpet companies and didn't like the hard sales tactics they used. Wanted me to sign on the spot or the price would go up. Not the case at all with Mr. Carpet. No pressure, no sales gimmicks. We selected a carpet and gave a deposit on the day of the appointment and the new carpet was in within 10 days. Beautiful installation, no issues at all. The install crew cleaned up well after themselves. Mary from the office was great to work with to schedule and she even followed up after the install to make sure everything was satisfactory. Would definitely use them again for any carpet needs!

We had an at-home appointment with the carpet salesman. He was patient and very professional. We needed to replace an expensive wool carpet in our master bedroom because it shed like crazy. He helped us find a non-wool carpet that would hold up well for many years. We settled on a nice one for our master bedroom. He also helped us a pick a discounted carpet of similar quality for a small bonus room. Based on our Angie's List membership, they included an upgraded foam backing, which has really turned our carpet into a dream! The installers did a fantastic job! They were in and out in no time but took care to ensure the installation was perfect. While we know we paid more than we would have going to a big box store, we were very happy with the service and final product.

Overall I am happy with the install. Things went as per the script for most part of the install. There were issues post install but it was promptly addressed by Mike and Mary.

Bob, the sales rep was courteous, professional, high energy, knowledgeable. The installers, Manuel, Omar, and Manuel were here on time, went right to work, worked for 6 hours straight. They were all courteous, knowledgeable, professional, hard-working. They put the house back together again asking exactly where furniture should go. We had no problems. We'd recommend this company again and again.

I tried to locate for the best carpet installers here at Angie's list, and Mr Carpet Shop at Home has the best reviews. This caught my attention and sent them a message inquiring about their services. Mary was quick to respond back and she answered all my questions right away. She was also able to immediately set me up appointment with Bob for consultation. Bob personally went to my house sometime in the evening (after my work hours) and did the estimates. He also helped us select the most cost effective carpet based on our need. He was very nice to deal with. There was about a few days of waiting before the installation as the carpet needs to be ordered and shipped. Mary was keeping me updated all the time. I was pleased with the updates that I regularly get -- this makes me feel that they did not forget about me. Once the carpet is ready, Mary provided the date and time of installation as well as the person who will do it -- Bernie. Bernie knows what he's doing. He is courteous and quick. The carpet was installed perfectly. He arrived on time and the installation was clean and hassle free. He and his partner even helped in moving the furniture. I had a great experience with Mr Carpet Shop at Home.

Gentlemen who did the estimation was good, but wasn't really flexible on pricing. Ended up being a little expensive. Carpet was excellent as was the installation.

We were very satisfied with the service. The installation went very smoothly and the carpet continues to impress a few months later. The sales process with Mr Carpet was very easy. The salesperson (I believe the owner) was very informative and patient with us. He didn't even appear frustrated by our 1 year old needing to open up all of his samples . I felt no pressure to purchase the most expensive type of carpet and I felt like I was getting an honest recommendation based on the questions I wsa asked. We did not shop around for other quotes as Mr Carpet was so well reviewed and we had an urgency to get the carpet replaced ASAP. As a result, I can't compare prices to others but I can only say the work was within our budget.

Mr. Carpet was very communicative. They sent out a representative on my requested date and he was patient while I made my decision. The quality of the carpet and padding is fabulous. I have no doubt that both will last a very long time. The customer service through the office was also great. The installers were a little less professional in their manner than they could have been, but the actual installation of the carpet is top notch. When I emailed the office manager about the installers, I got a call from the president of the company the same day and the issues were resolved quickly. The product is very superior to carpet I purchased and had installed from Home Depot previously. The bottom line is that you get what you pay for and we got great carpet.

Everyone I dealt with at this company was great. They were punctual, straightforward, and easy to deal with. The salesman was very helpful in staying within my budget, and the installers were professional and fast. The only advice I have to offer is to check the work before you let the installers go. I had asked that a threshold be installed in one room, which they did, but the door wouldn't close with it in place. Granted, I asked for the work to be done, but clearly being able to close the bathroom door is important, and if I hadn't caught the problem they would have left without addressing it. I would not hesitate to use Mr. Carpet again, I'm satisfied with their work and attitude. Such an amazing contrast to what you get from Empire Today, who I also considered.

Prompt arrival and EXCELLENT job. Major furnishings were moved and replaced. Clean up, before leaving, was spotless. Installers concern with " tough " areas was top notch.
