Master Handymen

Company was on time for original estimate. Price was in line with the mean of quotes I received and I liked the estimators approach to the problem, so I went with them. Omar showed up to do the job right on time as scheduled and was done in the afternoon. He was super professional, communicated well, did a perfect job, and left the work area clean. Will use this company in the future for any handyman tasks I can't fix myself, and will request Omar if at all possible.

It went very well. He went out of his way to make sure the job was done right.

He had to put in a new frame for the back door as well as the door. I also had a storm door, which he took off and reintalled it. When he took out the frame, there were some gaps that he did not expect. They reworked the frame, they painted everything so that it would match up with my house. They went above and beyond the call of duty. It was only supposed to take about a day but because of some unexpected problems they came back and finished everything the next day. Everything was marvelous and I was very pleased with the end result. The price was also very reasonable and he beat the competition which I was also very pleased about.

It gives me great pleasure to write this review for Master Handymen. From the very beginning, I knew this was a professional, buttoned-up group of people. Gino was very thorough in his inspection, took plenty of pictures with his I-Pad and followed up in a timely manner with an estimate. He was also very responsive in my communication with him and returned all of my e-mails promptly. I hired Master Handymen to cut out some mold-infested drywall and baseboards in our condo building, repair some water-damaged areas and prime the new drywall that they installed. Omar and his men did an excellent job and their attention to detail was impeccable. They even fixed some areas that weren?t caught in the initial inspection and you could tell these men take pride in their work. They showed up on time every day, were very courteous and cleaned up after themselves before they left. As President of my condo association, I?ve dealt with plenty of contractors over the years and these guys by far are one the most reliable and professional companies I?ve worked with. They?re capable of performing a wide variety of jobs from small repairs to remodeling, painting and electrical work. I highly recommend Master Handymen and wouldn?t think twice about hiring them again. Trust me, you won?t be disappointed!

The workers were great, and did a great job. I was disappointed with how high they priced things, very expensive compared to others. I had originally planned to have them do a lot more work, but cancelled once I got estimates from other Angie's List providers, who's work was reviewed more favorably. They included work in the estimate that they did not complete (i.e. saying that they would have to paint the whole wall, and then finding out that they had only painted around large items attached to the walls, instead of removing and painting the entire wall). I paid them for what they did, and hire others to complete the work, at a much lower rate without compromising quality.

We were extremely impressed with Master Handymen's work. They consulted with us to make sure we got exactly what we wanted, they were 100% professional, very friendly, and did great work at a great price. They were flexible when we decided to add or change our plan as the work went along, working extra hours in the day to be sure that the project was still completed on time. Omar and Rigo were on the job with us from start to finish and they were great! We highly recommend Master Handymen and would certainly use them again in a future project.

They were great to work with and very professional throughout the process of getting an estimate, performing the work, and follow-up. I would definitely use them again for home repairs and improvements.

It went very well and I will use them again. Gino is very responsive- within hours. They came as scheduled for an estimate, took pictures with an I-Pad, sent a written estimate, returned as scheduled, charged what they said they would and came back when we had some confusion over which "hallway" door needed repair (they fixed both and were not going to charge for the second trip).

Great! The tilework looked amazing and was done in a reasonable timeframe. Their prices are affordable and they do excellent work. Gino is very responsive and was able to help out in an emergency situation when our glass shower door shattered, arriving within a couple hours to help clean up. I highly recommend this team!

Things went very smoothly and they finished on time. We were not dumped for other larger projects and treated as valued customers. They are the best!

They came ontime, replaced the P trap and the part that goes into the wall which was rotted. He had all the parts on his truck, did the work fast , and cleaned up after. I thought the price was reasonable. I am very satisfied.

Called Master Handymen to come out and give me an estimate on some quotes on electrical, demolition/drywall repair and hardwood floor installation. Some one came by and said that they would get back to me but I never heard anything back. I also followed up with an email a few days later to request an updated quote on just the hardwood floors and sheetrock repair - but again did not get a reply. If they are not interested in working on my project, it's OK I'm fine with that; but at least tell me. No offense taken as we all have our bottom line. But to not get back to the customer or reply back to an email is unprofessional. **4/6/2013 update** Got a voice mail and email from Gino with a detailed quote. Gino was out of town so there was a delay in getting the quote out. If he would've given me a heads up on the delay from the beginning, it would've been fine. Even an out-of-office email reply would've sufficed. Needless to say, I ended up choosing another contractor to complete my work since I am on a tight timeline to get my project completed asap. I'm sure they must do great work based on the many great reviews in here.

The guys came in when I was at work and put plastic over furniture, floors, etc and seemed to make an effort to work as well as possible without causing any damage to my condo or belongings which was really considerate. They completed the work when promised. The only difficulty I experienced was in the bathroom. When they painted the walls, they didn't tape and got paint on the trim. I spoke with Gino who had them repaint the trim after finishing the walls. It really seemed like it mattered to him if I was satisfied with their work. Approximately 6-9 months after the repair, the paint on the living room ceiling began flaking again. They came out and looked at it and decided to fix the ceiling again for me even though they expressed that it was not due to their work. It was generous for them to do so and again it seems to matter to them if customers are satisfied but as a new homeowner, I could have benefitted from a bit more explanation of the repair and possible outcomes. I realize that's not their responsibility but would have increased my confidence in them to the point I would have chosen them over any other company. They seem like a very responsible company, taking the jobs seriously and really looking for customer satisfaction. I did find some individuals seemed to care about my experience more than others but over all a good company to choose.

Gene is great. He came out to get an estimate and the provided a quote. The quote was on par with what we expected to pay. His crew showed up, did the work as described with great quality, and left the place tidier than they found it. Would do business with Master Handymen again anytime!

Responsive, punctual, and did a great job. I would hire them again, absolutely.

Gino was very responsive; getting a documented proposal and scheduling the work was very fast. Reasonable price. They did a nice job on the work, windows looked great and they both prepared the work area properly and cleaned up thoroughly, so nothing got dusty or damaged. A few weeks later there was some bubbling in the paint in one of the windows. They came right out, evaluated the situation, accepted responsibility and fixed the problem quickly and on their dime. For that I give them a lot of credit--there are plenty of companies that would have suddenly become uncommunicative or argued that one way or another it wasn't their problem. They showed me that they really stand by their work and will get the job done right, while also not creating a hassle for me. Would recommend this company to others.

Gino is very responsive, very professional, and very nice to work with. Makes you question those stereotypes about working with contractors! Going back to our home sale and purchase, he was able to meet with me on a day's notice to prepare estimates for inspection items that needed to be done at the home I was selling and the home I was buying. He provided a detailed estimate of the work to be done that satisfied me and the parties on each side of my transactions. When we moved to our new home, I hired him to complete some of those jobs he priced out (and postponed some other jobs to be done with a larger remodel). His contractors did a great job. They were also timely and clean. One guy sealed the gap between my house and the sidewalk that just looked like an invitation for water infiltration. Rather than repair with concrete, he suggested using a heavy duty caulk-like substance that would contract and expand and not eventually crack the way that concrete would. The job was done very neatly and quickly. The other contractor repaired a cracked masonry cap on top of my chimney. They were very polite and clean and did the job quickly. I haven't been on the roof yet, so I don't know what it looks like, but I am pretty confident that it was a job well done. I have since called Gino for a minor emergency when I didn't know who else to call. I needed a bit of my countertop cut to accommodate a new stove I am having installed. He sent his guys out, but they discovered my countertop was Corian, which they didn't work on. So Gino recommended a Corian contractor, who I have scheduled to come out next week. He's been a pleasure to work with.

Initial response time takes awhile, but work is good quality and professional service. Cost is fair and appropriate.

I'm remodeling one of our bedrooms and I'm taking care of pretty much everything myself (demo, framing, insulation, electrical, floor, paint) but to put up the new dry wall I decided to hire a contractor as it would take me too long and probably wouldn't turn out as good as I'd want it to be. On Monday I contacted a couple of different companies (via email through their websites) that do drywall installations. Gino from Master Handymen got back to me probably within a couple of hours, we setup an appointment for the following day, Tuesday where he came by and took a look a the job. I said that I'd like to get this done asap and he said that he could probably have some of his guys come by on Friday and Saturday to install and finish the dry wall. He went back and on Wednesday I got the quote which I think was very good at 600.00 (which included the 10% discount) for putting up drywall on all walls and the ceiling of a 10 x 12 feet bedroom. I immediately signed up for it and we scheduled the job to start on Friday. Friday morning 2 of his guys came by and installed all the drywall and patched up all the cracks and screws. Then on Saturday one of them came back to do a second coat and really nicely finish all walls and the ceiling. By Saturday mid afternoon everything was done and I was very happy how it turned out. Now it's back on me to sand everything, prime and then paint. I can very highly recommend Master Handymen and I know I'll definitely use them again as I'll have lots more small and medium size projects where I'll need help completing them. They will be my go to guys from now on. :-)

Everything worked out fine. Once he returned with the new spigots it went rather quickly. Job was a little pricey but would consider using Master Handyman again.

They are great and we never worry about getting ripped off or overcharged. They are punctual and the people who come out really know what they are doing. The pricing is fantastic which is very hard to find. They are easy to work with and they work around your schedule.

We were very pleased with the work that was performed as well as the contact with Master Handymen. They phoned us to keep us updated on when they would arrive and did a very professional job. They tidied up everywhere so it was if they hadn't been (aside from everything was now fixed and working). We will definitely be using Master Handymen again for similar and larger jobs.

Overall, I had a great experience with Gino and his crew and will for sure keep them in my contacts for future painting, drywall or handyman jobs! Thanks Gino!

His workers are great. They get the job done and work hard. I'm very happy with them. I was on a really tight time frame and had other trades coming in. This guy stayed late to make sure everything was done on time. They are really good and professional. They show up on time.

Gino's guys did everything I asked of them and more. They showed up everyday on time and ready to work, and would stay late to make sure the job got finished. I was on a tight deadline with the holidays and working around other trades, and they made sure that all the work got done on time. Gino's pricing is better than any of the other contractors I brought in for estimates and the quality of work is fantastic. I would definitely recommend Gino to anyone.
