Master Handymen

I got in contact with Master Handymen in February for 6-10 odd jobs. They responded quickly and worked cheap and well. The problem is that one of the odd jobs was to fix a leaky furnace. They came out, cut a hole in my ceiling, and told me they needed to order a part. A couple weeks later, the guy came back out but told me he ordered the wrong part. A couple weeks later, no responses to my calls. It's been four months now and they have completely ghosted me. I paid them for half of the 6-10 jobs as the deposit. But the biggest job remains unfinished and no one returns my phone calls or emails. So I still have a leaky furnace. And I have a 3' x 3' hole in my hallway ceiling for four months.

I was so pleased with the quality of Master Handymen's work as well as their expediency in getting it done. Gino was very communicative and quick w/ his estimate, which enabled us to start the work pretty much immediately (which was needed as the bathroom was unusable for my tenant due to a pipe break underneath). I plan to use them for any small project needs for my unit and highly recommend them to any other owners that may not be handy (like me) to get needed work done efficiently and effectively.

I had excellent with Master Handyman in troubleshooting my Legrand electrical panels. The tech came in and flawlessly solved the issue-installed the electrical switch and it's working perfectly. This is a very professional team and I highly recommend them and will be using them again.

Gino responded quickly and provided a written proposal based on pictures & measurements I provided. When we were trying to decide between 2 competitive quotes we invited Gino onsite to confirm (or modify) the proposal. The work was scheduled within a week of me obtaining the specific tile I wanted for the repair. The workers arrived on time and cleaned up when they were finished. The repair was done very professionally. I'm very happy with the end result.

This is the second time we have used Master Handymen in Chicago. The first was many years ago for a punch list while selling a condo. This summer, we had years' worth of jobs ready for Gino and his team. Gino responded quickly to my initial email and came out to see our long list of jobs (some larger, such as installing gutters on our garage for a water barrel and demolishing and rebuilding our deck from house down to backyard patio). All work was done efficiently and very well! We met many team members, including Omar and Rodolfo. They were all professional. We're SO PLEASED with the work that was done for us! We couldn’t be happier with the work that Master Handymen did on a rental property for us. They delivered earlier than the projected time, communication was frequent and friendly, and everything was done perfectly. Gino and his team were great to work with- all very nice and thoughtful. Our property is almost 100 years old, and we had some tricky elements to navigate, but Gino solved all of our plumbing and electrical issues to help us bring the kitchen and bathroom up to date. The pricing was fair and transparent. I’m a first -time homeowner, and Gino and his team were really helpful in teaching my husband and I about various aspects of home maintenance, too. I will definitely use Master Handymen again!

Master Handyman did excellent work. They were good at communicating, clean and great craftsmanship!

They never answer their phone and they don't return messages. Life must be great to run a business that way but I want no part of helping them continue.

I've used Master Handymen for many years. Most of the time it was for smaller projects, like electrical, and fixing things around the house. I recently used them to remodel my bathroom, and repair/replace a bunch of stuff in anticipation of selling my house. The repairs and remodel were extensive enough to take a few days to complete. Gino sent over a written quote and contract, detailing all the work to be done. He worked with my schedule to find the dates. The workers arrived on time. They put down plastic everywhere to contain the dust and dirt, even on the stairs. The bathroom remodel involved moving and replacing plumbing, putting up drywall, and installing a very large vanity and mirror. They finished off a room in my basement with drywall, and replaced a few large sections in another room of my basement because of damage and removal due to foundation crack repairs. They installed all new baseboards, and primed all the new drywall. They also upgraded many of my light fixtures and outlets to bring them up to code, repaired a kitchen cabinet, and replaced my range hood and kitchen faucet. The guys were all friendly, and they worked hard, only taking a break for lunch. When they left, the house was cleaner than it was when they got there. The price was very reasonable, and well worth it. I would recommend Master Handymen for any project, large or small!

I never received a response either by phone or message. It's so easy to message on Angie's List. No communication whatsoever is just a horrible sign of bad organization or manners...either way it's inexcusable.

I called on Friday. The voice message says to submit a form via their website. I then did this but did not hear back. Their site also says if you do not hear from us in 48 hours email us your request directly. I did this on Tuesday. It is now Thursday and I haven't heard a thing. I have moved on and will hire another company to do the work.

Master Handymen did a great job. The crew was prompt, polite, and easy to work with. All work was top quality. Couldn't be happier with the work they did!

Everything went well. The workmanship was excellent and the personalities of the workmen were friendly. We would hire them again.

They came when they said they would come. They gave me an extremely detailed quote. I was very satisfied. They did what they said they would do.

They were awesome. They hung pictures, they put in a nest products, a thermostat products. moved furniture, replaced fire alarms, replaced under counter lighting, lots of different things.I would definitely use them again. I have them coming back in August.

Not very good he stopped responding after I sent all the information requested.

They were on time, fast, thorough, and cleaned up well. I've been putting this project off for two years because I thought it would be difficult and complicated, but they finished in three days and it looks amazing.

Well. Only improvement is that he needed to borrow a few of my tools.

They did a great job and were very communicative during the entire process.

Martha helped schedule my appointment and confirmed it. Jose came out and took care of my issues as well as advised me on an additional problem with an old fuse box. When Martha called to follow up on our appointment, I scheduled another appointment for Jose to come out and replace our fuse box with a new circuit breaker. Jose has been professional and polite. His work is fantastic. Martha has been very nice and made scheduling easy. Thanks so much for your help!

Did lots of different stuff - all done wisely and with talented hands and craftsmanship. Did not try and sell extra work and indeed suggested some savings

Radhu came out on June 9 2016 to provide estimate on storm door painting and garage trim replacement. Gino - owner - never responded after my follow-up June 10 at 12pm. He responded to my voicemail at 6:30pm June 10 because I said I was leaving a poor review on Angie's List. A wast of time.
