Description of Work: Plumbing, electrical, carpentry, cement work, grouting and misc. small tasks. |Showed up when they said they would. Kept me informed. Suggested a solution to a dryer venting that was better than the one I asked them to do. Being able to deal with one company for the various tasks instead of having multiple companies was a big plus. Very pleased with the work performed.

Description of Work: Contractor performed a variety of jobs, including replacement of ceiling fans, replacement of chandelier, installation of new pot rack, repair of damaged drywall, and painting of hallway. Very prompt and professional. When repairing drywall in closet, the workers inadvertently damaged the walls and baseboards. I informed the contractor of the damage, and he sent a crew to repair the damage within a few days. I was a bit disappointed in the final finishes, I expected the work to include smoothing, patching and cleaning once every thing was installed but that final touch was missing, leaving things looking a bit unfinished. With that said, the price was good for the work, and I can handle the small cleanup needed.

 + 7 moreFrom start to finish, my experience with Gene and Sal of Master Handymen went extremely well. I had to remodel an apartment that had been occupied by its previous tenant, a heavy smoker, for fifty years. The unit had good bones, but was in really rough shape. I didn't have a lot of money to spend, but needed to bring the apartment into the 21st century. Gene worked with me to define the scope and to keep the costs in line with my budget. In order to get the finished product I desired, I bought the cabinets, the ceramic tile, the countertops, and the plumbing fixtures. Master Handymen bought all the remaining supplies, including lumber, drywall, paint, electrical items, etc. In addition to a tight budget, we had a strict one month construction schedule. Everything went according to plan and the rehab was completed on time and on budget. I will be using them for more work on this building and at my house in the near future.

 + 5 moreThe work was done professionally and they cleaned up well after themselves. I've had general building projects done a great many times -- for several buildings spanning 20 years of time. In addition to a good price what REALLY matters to me is; That the show up when they say they will. Once they start on a project they stay with it until the end. They do the job well - no cutting corners to get done quickly. Willing to take on small projects (some guys just do won't). I also like that they can do such a wide variety of things. I've had the whole crew paint an apartment (between renters) when I was on an incredibly tight schedule and it really saved me a lot of trouble by being done before the new tenants moved in. When I told Gino I was still pressed to get the place clean for the new tenants (not just cleaning up after the painting, but real cleaning for new tenants) he was able to pull out his cell phone and get a cleaning service there right away. A real life saver. I've had them do reasonably sized plumbing jobs and small things like opening a clogged drain or installing ceiling fans. It's nice to get a lot of things checked off your list without coordinating among different contractors. They will be my first call for now on.
Description of Work: Wallpaper removal then paint and plaster in the main stairwell of a three story building. Significant patching of plaster was required. I've hired these guys for plumbing, electrical work, rental apartment painting and ceramic tile work too. They seem to do everything - even whole kitchens and baths.
